šI never fully understood what Proverbs 17:22 meant when it says, āA cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.ā I used to think it was only talking about being happy. But itās so much deeper than that. A crushed spirit doesnāt always look like someone crying. Sometimes it looks like going through the motions, smiling when youāre exhausted, carrying burdens in silence, and slowly losing the joy you once had. God knows that whatās happening inside of us eventually affects everything around us. Thatās why He cares so deeply about the condition of our hearts. Real joy isnāt pretending life is perfect. Itās knowing that even when life feels heavy, God is still faithful. Itās choosing to trust Him when you donāt have all the answers. Itās protecting your peace, guarding your heart, and refusing to let disappointment become your identity. If your spirit has been weary lately, donāt ignore it. Bring it to God. He doesnāt just heal broken circumstancesāHe restores broken hearts. Sometimes the greatest medicine isnāt having every problem solved. Itās resting in the presence of the One who promises to carry what you no longer can.
