Good evening, brethren.
1. Evening devotion for today.
ED.i. *DAILY WALK WITH CHRIST*
(COCIN DEVOTIONAL)
*DATE:*
SUNDAY 19TH JULY, 2026.
*SUB-THEME:*
THE CONSEQUENCES OF REJECTING GOD'S GRACE.
*TOPIC:*
CONSPIRACY.
*TEXT:*
2 SAMUEL 15:1-6.
1. In the course of time, Absalom provided himself with a chariot and horses and with fifty men to run ahead of him.
2. He would get up early and stand by the side of the road leading to the city gate. Whenever anyone came with a complaint to be placed before the king for a decision, Absalom would call out to him, “What town are you from?” He would answer, “Your servant is from one of the tribes of Israel.”
3. Then Absalom would say to him, “Look, your claims are valid and proper, but there is no representative of the king to hear you.”
4. And Absalom would add, “If only I were appointed judge in the land! Then everyone who has a complaint or case could come to me and I would see that they receive justice.”
5. Also, whenever anyone approached him to bow down before him, Absalom would reach out his hand, take hold of him and kiss him.
6. Absalom behaved in this way toward all the Israelites who came to the king asking for justice, and so he stole the hearts of the people of Israel.
*TOPIC:*
CONSPIRACY.
*THE MESSAGE:*
Conspiracy is the making of a secret plan to do something unlawful or harmful. Today's text reveals how Absalom conspired against his father. In his conspiracy, he
(i) displayed his royal power,
(ii) presented himself as a good judge, and
(iii) claimed false humility before the Israelites.
Therefore, "He stole the hearts of the men of Israel." Absalom's act depicts the attitude of cunning people. Instead of advising the leader appropriately, they capitalise on his weaknesses to castigate and condemn his leadership ability while presenting themselves as capable leaders. Are you one of such people? People who appropriate God's grace do not conspire against others; instead, they approach and advise constructively. Therefore, redress your attitude and refuse to participate in any conspiracy.
*REFLECTION:*
Detest all sorts of conspiracy.
*PRAYER:*
Lord, help me not to conspire against anyone. Amen.
*MEMORY VERSE FOR THE MONTH:*
HEBREWS 10:29.
How much more severely do you think one deserves to be punished who has trampled on the Son of God, profaned the blood of the covenant that sanctified him, and insulted the Spirit of grace?
*TODAY'S BIBLE READING PLAN:*
ISAIAH 21-22.
ED.ii. GOD'S TIMELINE
"But I trust in You, Lord; I say: You are my God. My times are in Your hands; deliver me from the hands of my enemies, from those who pursue me." - Psalm 31:14-15
It is in our nature to want that things happen fast. We become impatient when we have to wait for a long time at the counter. When we pray and tell God our wishes, we also want God to immediately answer our prayers. However, we must learn that God is not a human being and that He has His own timeline. This is very difficult for human beings to accept. We are like small children whining: 'Why is it taking so long'?
Everything happens at God's time. Therefore, many Christians are angry with God. They are frustrated, stressed and angry at the church because they do not understand God's timeline. They shout: 'Lord, when are you going to do something? I've been praying for such a long time. Why hasn't anything changed yet?' However, if you accept that God has His own timeline, you will be calmer, you will not get easily upset and you can be more relaxed. Why? Because you know and trust that God has everything in His hand: your life, your family, your work and your business. God is in control.
God's appointed time
When you think everything is stopped, then you are mistaken. It will change for sure. Habakkuk 2:3 says: 'For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay.'
Your situation also has God's attention at His appointed time. It can be today, but it can also be tomorrow, next week, next month, within one or ten years. This is hard to accept. How are you waiting for God? Are you impatient and angry, or do you wait with the confidence that He will live up to His Word?

Evening Prayer for today.
EP.i. Evening Prayer
The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace. ⏤ Numbers 6:24-26
A day without prayer is a day without blessing, and a life without prayer is a life without power. ⏤ Leonard Ravenhill
We thank You, O God, for this blessed day. It began with grace, and grace has brightened all its sacred hours. We have seen Your face, and our hearts have been filled with joy. We have waited on You, and You have renewed our strength. We went to Your sanctuary, and You met us there and blessed us. We prayed to You, and You came near to us in love, breathing Your life into our souls.
Sanctify to us all the lessons and influences of this day. Help us remember the words You’ve spoken to us. May we carry in our hearts new desires, higher aspirations, and stronger determination from today’s devotions. May we be stronger for duty, more courageous for the challenges ahead, gentler in spirit, with more tender sympathies and sweeter affections—because we’ve seen You today.
Bless Your people everywhere with the rest and worship of this Sunday. May good come from every sermon preached, every lesson taught in Sunday school, and every holy word spoken in public or in private. May Your people be strengthened in their faith, their love increased, and their zeal deepened because of today’s ministry of Your word.
We now ask for special grace to prepare us for the work of the week ahead. We can’t foresee even one day. We don’t know what the future holds—not even the near future. But You know, and we will go forward into the unknown without fear. Everything will be well because You will lead us, and we’re not afraid to trust You. Choose the path for us. We wouldn’t choose for ourselves, even if we could, because Your wisdom is far greater than ours. So we commit everything to You, and we will go on in Your name. Amen.
