DIVINE INTELLIGENCE AND GODLY WISDOM
A WORD FROM THE WORD:
"Your servant is here among the people you have chosen, ....... give your servant a discerning heart to govern your people and to distinguish between right and wrong. For who is able to govern this great people of yours?” 1 Kings 3:8-9 NIV.
As a human, the natural default setting of your attitude is selfishness. And so sometimes, even in your Christian life you tend to be and exhibit selfishness, all you care about is what will benefit you personally, (hear this; it's not wrong to seek for self benefit, but the motivation must align with God's will).
King Solomon displayed enormous divine intelligence when he, in humility, sought for God's wisdom in the servant leadership of His people, Israel. That was an acknowledgement of his dependence on God's guidance to enable him render acceptable and effective servant leadership to God's people.
As a Christian, you should be careful and know when you are praying selfish prayers.
The Holy Spirit admonishes us in the Scripture through Paul, the apostle thus: 'Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too.' (Philippians 2:3-4 NLT).
You should endeavour to receive increased grace and wisdom to impact others with the investment of what God has made you to become, to His glory.
PRAYER BULLETS:
ABBA Father, thank You for the inspiration through Your Word to me today to be selfless in my service to, and relationships with others.
FURTHER READING:
Matthew 20:26-27; Luke 22:26-27; Philippians 2:5-8.
