TITLE: "Leading with God's Wisdom"
ANCHOR SCRIPTURE(S)
Genesis 41:39–40 (KJV) "And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, Forasmuch as God hath shewed thee all this, there is none so discreet and wise as thou art: Thou shalt be over my house, and according unto thy word shall all my people be ruled: only in the throne will I be greater than thou."
Proverbs 8:15–16 (KJV) "By me kings reign, and princes decree justice. By me princes rule, and nobles, even all the judges of the earth."
QUOTE TO REFLECT ON
"Godly wisdom does not merely elevate a person; it equips them to lead with integrity, justice, and humility."
DAY'S REFLECTION
Leadership is not sustained by position alone but by wisdom that comes from God. Joseph's rise from prison to the palace was not based on political influence or family connections. It was his God-given wisdom, faithful character, and ability to interpret Pharaoh's dream that prepared him for national leadership. Pharaoh recognised that God's hand was upon Joseph and entrusted him with great responsibility.
Proverbs reminds us that true leadership is established through divine wisdom. Whether leading a nation, a family, a classroom, a business, or a ministry, those who seek God's wisdom are better equipped to make righteous decisions that benefit others.
Imagine the head teacher of a school faced with limited resources and many competing needs. Instead of acting impulsively, the head teacher carefully consults experienced colleagues, plans wisely, and makes fair decisions that improve teaching and learning. Over time, the school prospers because leadership is guided by wisdom rather than emotion. In the same way, God desires His people to lead with discernment, humility, and justice in every area of life.
You may not hold a public office, but God has entrusted you with influence. Your decisions affect your family, workplace, church, and community. Seek God's wisdom daily, remain faithful in your responsibilities, and allow Him to shape your character. As He did for Joseph, God can open doors of influence for those who honour Him.
MEDITATION SCRIPTURE(S) WITH FULL VERSES
James 1:5 (KJV) "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him."
Proverbs 3:5–6 (KJV) "Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths."
LIFE LESSONS (IMPLICATIONS)
1. Godly wisdom prepares us for greater responsibility.
2. Faithfulness in small tasks leads to greater opportunities.
