DOMINION DAILY DEVOTION ~ DAY 202
DATE: 21ST JULY 2026
TOPIC: ADMISSION IS THE PATHWAY TO FREEDOM
ANCHOR SCRIPTURE: JAMES 5:16 (NKJV)
"Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much."
Devotional message:

One of the greatest pathways to freedom is admitting that we need God's help. Throughout the Psalms, David continually came before God with an open and broken heart. He did not hide his failures or pretend to be strong. Instead, he confessed his sins, acknowledged his weaknesses, and cried out for God's mercy. Because of his humility and repentance, God continually restored him and manifested His grace in his life.

Many believers remain in bondage to secret sins, not because God is unwilling to deliver them, but because they refuse to admit that they need help. Some lack godly accountability, while others are held captive by pride, fear, or shame. They worry about how others will perceive them if their struggles become known. The enemy takes advantage of these fears, convincing them that their sins are too great to be forgiven or that they must fight their battles alone.

However, Scripture provides God's remedy. The Apostle James instructs believers to confess their sins to one another and pray for one another so that they may be healed. God has established accountability within the body of Christ as a means of bringing healing, restoration, encouragement, and spiritual growth. Walking alongside mature believers who can pray, counsel, and lovingly correct us helps break the chains of guilt and strengthens us to walk in victory.

Freedom also requires honesty before God. He already knows our hearts, yet He desires us to come before Him with sincerity, acknowledging our sins and turning from them in genuine repentance. God is not looking for polished appearances or religious performances. He desires broken and contrite hearts that are willing to receive His transforming grace.

Child of God, remember that God is more concerned about your soul than your service or outward sacrifices. Do not allow pride, fear, or shame to keep you in bondage. Come boldly before the throne of grace, confess your sins, receive His forgiveness, and seek the support of trusted, godly believers who can help you grow in your walk with Christ. Admission is not a sign of weakness—it is the doorway to healing, restoration, and lasting freedom.

Humility, honest confession before God, and godly accountability are God's pathway to healing, restoration, and freedom from the bondage of sin.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your abundant mercy and unfailing love. I humble myself before You today and confess my weaknesses and failures. Forgive me, cleanse me, and restore me according to Your grace. Give me the humility to seek godly accountability and the courage to walk in the light. Strengthen me by Your Holy Spirit to live a life that honors You. In Jesus' name, Amen.
