Good evening, brethren.
1. Evening devotion for today.

ED.i. *DAILY WALK WITH CHRIST*
(COCIN DEVOTIONAL)

*DATE:*
TUESDAY 21ST JULY, 2026.

*SUB-THEME:*
THE CONSEQUENCES OF REJECTING GOD'S GRACE.

*TOPIC:*
LIVING IN FEAR.

*TEXT:*
GENESIS 32:3-8.
3. 'Jacob sent messengers ahead of him to his brother Esau in the land of Seir, the country of Edom.
4. He instructed them: “This is what you are to say to my lord Esau: ‘Your servant Jacob says, I have been staying with Laban and have remained there till now.
5. I have cattle and donkeys, sheep and goats, male and female servants. Now I am sending this message to my lord, that I may find favor in your eyes.’ ”
6. When the messengers returned to Jacob, they said, “We went to your brother Esau, and now he is coming to meet you, and four hundred men are with him.”
7. In great fear and distress Jacob divided the people who were with him into two groups, and the flocks and herds and camels as well.
8. He thought, “If Esau comes and attacks one group, the group that is left may escape.”

*TOPIC:*
LIVING IN FEAR.

*THE MESSAGE:*
Today's text shows that since the day Jacob took the blessing of his elder brother Esau, he continued to live in fear. Out of fear and guilt, he ran away to live with Laban. After a long time, Jacob planned to return home, but the fear of meeting his brother gripped him, as he thought Esau would harm him. Some people are living in fear because their past is haunting them. If you refuse to amend your wrong, you will continue to live in fear. To overcome that, you have to confess and seek forgiveness (Prov. 28:13). Are you living in fear for any reason? No matter how hard you try to hide or set aside pending issues, harmony will elude you unless you genuinely repent.

*REFLECTION:*
Fear torments.

*PRAYER:*
Father, help me overcome my fears in Jesus' name. Amen.

*MEMORY VERSE FOR THE MONTH:*
HEBREWS 10:29.
How much more severely do you think one deserves to be punished who has trampled on the Son of God, profaned the blood of the covenant that sanctified him, and insulted the Spirit of grace?

*TODAY'S BIBLE READING PLAN:*
ISAIAH 25-27.

ED.ii. A LIFE FULL OF HAPPINESS AND JOY

"Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!" - Philippians 4:4

God's children should be the happiest people in the whole world. It is a great compliment to the Father in heaven if the world would see His children as happy people. We should be so happy that other people around us wonder why those Christians are so happy, excited and grateful? We Christians are not only happy because we are facing a great future, because we are going to heaven. No, God's children enjoy each day the Lord is giving to them.

Are you happy? Are you excited? Do you enjoy everything God has given you? Other people should see this in you.

Renew your happiness

Some people who watch our TV program say: 'David, you are burying your head in the sand. The pressure of life is heavy. If you only knew what I'm dealing with, you wouldn't preach to always be happy.' No, dear friends, even when life is hard and the pressure is high, you have to renew your joy every day.

Circumstances in life cause your joy to vanish. Once you were so excited to read and study the Bible, to pray, and to attend church meetings. You could not get enough of it. Then suddenly you think: 'What's the matter with me? I'm not that driven anymore. I no longer feel that passion.' Some people will then look for new things.

However, as children of God, we must break the routine and encourage ourselves daily in the good things of God. Allow His peace, His rest and His joy into your life every day. Just as Israel had to collect a fresh supply of manna every day, we should also have a new, fresh supply of joy and happiness daily. That is why God says: 'My mercy, My goodness is new every morning.'

Make your choice. Take the decision not to live one day without the joy and happiness of the Lord Jesus Christ.

2. Evening Prayer for today.

EP.i. Evening Prayer

He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber. Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. ⏤ Psalm 121:3-4

It is not necessary to always be talking to God, but it is always necessary to be trusting Him. ⏤ A.W. Tozer

O Son of God, where else can we go but to You? You have the words of eternal life! You have redeemed us by Your blood, and You won’t turn us away when we come to You. Grant us now an evening blessing. We haven’t followed You perfectly as we promised to do this morning. We’ve wandered from Your ways like lost sheep. We don’t want to go to bed until we’ve received Your forgiveness. Since You died for us, we come boldly to Your throne of grace to ask for the forgiveness of all our sins. O Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world, have mercy on us.

We thank You for Your care, which has been so constant and faithful today.

We’ve moved through unseen dangers, with no power to protect ourselves—and You have protected us.

We’ve walked on paths we didn’t know—and You’ve led us. We’ve carried burdens that were too heavy for us—and You’ve sustained us.

We’ve faced problems we couldn’t solve—and You’ve given us wisdom.

For the blessings of Your providence, we thank You. For the love and grace we’ve received from Your word and through Your Spirit, we thank You.

We lay the work of the day at Your feet. What is stained with sin, please cleanse. Correct our mistakes so they don’t mar our work or harm others. Whatever You can use from the work of our hands, may You use it for Your glory.

Receive us now into Your care for the night. Lay Your hand on us in blessing and keep us through the night. Refresh us with sleep and prepare us for a new day. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
