STAY ON YOUR LANE
A WORD FROM THE WORD:
"When Peter saw him, he asked, 'Lord, what about him?' Jesus answered, 'If I want him to remain alive until I return, what is that to you? You must follow me.'" John 21:21-22 NIV.
From the context of our anchor Scripture, the LORD Jesus admonishes against comparison, (or what Paul the apostle, by the Holy Spirit's inspiration would say is 'comparing themselves with themselves...') and it is very clear; 'focus on, and stay on your lane.' For grace flows where assignment is clear.
If you pay attention to the truthful fact that everyone has a unique calling and assignment, it will be helpful to reduce distractions, provide needed energy to maintain to focus, stay on your lane; comparison is one of the fastest ways to lose focus.
Hear what Paul, the apostle, tells us, 'Pay careful attention to your own work, for then you will get the satisfaction of a job well done, and you won’t need to compare yourself to anyone else.... we are each responsible for our own conduct.' (Galatians 6:4-5 NLT). This calls for determined self-responsibility, and staying accountable to your own calling and assignment, instead of measuring yourself with other people. What God is doing with other people should not be your instruction manual.
Your focus should be on finishing your own race (like Paul, the apostle) and not someone else's; and staying on your lane will definitely lead you to fulfilment and completion of destiny. Destiny, like you may know, is not for the distracted, but for the disciplined.
If it has to be, it's up to you.
PRAYER BULLETS:
Precious Holy Spirit, thank You for Your guidance. Help me to stay strong in my resolve to refuse distraction; and embrace my calling as I stay on my lane, and finish my race.
