A WORD FROM THE WORD:
“You are worthy, O LORD, To receive glory and honor and power; For You created all things, And by Your will they exist and were created.” Revelation 4:11NKJV.
When the purpose of a thing is not known or discovered, abuse is inevitable. Some people are in the world without knowing why God created them. They feel that they exist for themselves, and they therefore personalise things and map out plans on their own without involving God.
You hear them use words like 'My life, my house, my car, my money etc.' They also state 'I will travel to XYZ city for my next summer holidays, I will also visit my friend, go to the wedding from there and return the next day.' all these plans without adding 'by God's grace.'
James, the beloved has this to say, by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, 'Come now, you who say, "Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit'; whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away. Instead, you ought to say, if the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that." But now you boast in your arrogance. All such boasting is evil.' (James 4:13-16)
Furthermore, our anchor Scripture tells us the purpose of our being created. It says 'You are worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power; for You created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.' (KJV). Yes. God created us for His pleasure, this means that all we do ought to be pleasing to, and glorifying Him. These include the way we think, relate with Him, relate with others, and use our God given resources.
PRAYER BULLETS:
ABBA Father, I am grateful for how You made me; fearfully and wonderfully. Engrace me further to live out the purpose of my creation.
