Caution in prayer-2

"And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone." Mark 11:25.
Forgiveness is a quality and characteristic of the Christian life. There are not many examples of forgiveness in the Old Testament. The law of Moses prescribes punishment for the guilty. An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth (Exodus 21:24). There is no confession or forgiveness there. Repentance, confession and forgiveness came into the world through the Lord Jesus. The Pharisees brought a woman caught in adultery to Jesus to test him and said, “Teacher, what do you say?” He said, “He who is without sin among you, let him be the first to throw a stone at her.” Then they all went away one by one, each one guilty. Then he said to the woman, “Woman, has no one condemned you?” She said, “No, Lord, no one.” Then he said to her, “Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more.” John 8:1-11. The law came through Moses. But grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. (John 1:17). The Lord Jesus taught much about forgiveness. Then he told a parable about a servant who was forgiven a large debt by his master, but he went and refused to forgive his fellow servant a few. Then the master of the first servant handed him over to the torturers until he should pay all the debt. Then he said, “My heavenly Father will also do to you if you do not forgive each one his brother from your hearts.” Matthew 18:21-35.
So before praying, we should check whether we have forgiven our offenders or not.
"For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you." Matthew 6:14.
