TODAY'S KINGDOM INSIGHTS.
SERMON TOPIC:
SOMETHING IS WRONG. LET THE CHRISTIANS ARISE
Main Text:
Judges 5:23; Isaiah 60:1–3; Ephesians 5:14
Beloved, something is wrong when darkness is increasing, yet the light remains hidden.
Something is wrong when corruption is celebrated and righteousness is mocked.
Something is wrong when Christians are everywhere, yet Christ is scarcely seen in our communities.
Something is wrong when believers have become spectators instead of soldiers, consumers instead of disciples, and complainers instead of kingdom builders.
The world is not waiting for more opinions. The world is waiting for the manifestation of the sons and daughters of God (Romans 8:19).
Today, God is sounding an alarm:
"Something is wrong. Let the Christians arise!"
Key Bible Verses
Isaiah 60:1–2
> "Arise, shine; for thy light is come..."
God never told the darkness to disappear before we shine. He commanded His people to arise in the midst of darkness. The darker the world becomes, the brighter the Church should be.
Ephesians 5:14
> "Awake thou that sleepest... and Christ shall give thee light."
Many believers are spiritually asleep. God is calling His Church to wake up from spiritual laziness, compromise, and fear.
Matthew 5:13–16
Jesus called believers the salt of the earth and light of the world.
Salt preserves.
Light exposes darkness.
If society is decaying, perhaps the salt has lost its influence.
1. SOMETHING IS WRONG WHEN THE CHURCH BECOMES SILENT
Proverbs 31:8–9
There was a time when Christians boldly defended truth.
Today many remain silent because they fear criticism.
Silence has allowed:
Moral decay
Corruption
False teachings
Broken families
Rising crime
When righteous voices become silent, evil voices become louder.
God is calling Christians to lovingly but courageously stand for truth.
2. SOMETHING IS WRONG WHEN CHRISTIANS LOOK LIKE THE WORLD
Romans 12:2
Many believers have adjusted to worldly values instead of transforming society.
Instead of changing culture, culture is changing the Church.
God never called us to fit into darkness.
He called us to transform it.
People should encounter Christ through our:
Character
Integrity
Speech
Love
Holiness
3. SOMETHING IS WRONG WHEN WE STOP WINNING SOULS
Jesus' final command was:
> "Go ye therefore..."
Yet many believers are busy with personal success while neglecting eternal souls.
Heaven rejoices over one sinner who repents.
A Church that no longer evangelizes has forgotten its mission.
Every Christian is a missionary wherever God has placed them.
4. SOMETHING IS WRONG WHEN PRAYER ALTARS HAVE GONE COLD
James 5:16
Revival has never started through politics.
Revival has always started in prayer.
When prayer decreases:
Discernment decreases.
Holiness decreases.
Spiritual power decreases.
The Church must rebuild family altars, personal devotion, and corporate prayer.
Prayer changes people before it changes situations.
5. LET THE CHRISTIANS ARISE
God is not looking for perfect people.
He is looking for available people.
Like:
Deborah arose.
Gideon arose.
Esther arose.
Daniel arose.
Peter arose.
Paul arose.
One believer filled with the Holy Spirit can influence an entire generation.
The question is not whether God can use someone.
The question is: Will He find you available?
Biblical Case Study:
Nehemiah
When Nehemiah heard that Jerusalem's walls were broken down, he did not complain.
He prayed.
He fasted.
He planned.
He acted.
Despite opposition, ridicule, and threats, he continued until the walls were rebuilt (Nehemiah 2–6).
Many people see what is wrong.
Few are willing to become part of God's solution.
Christians are called not merely to identify problems but to become instruments of restoration.
Deep Spiritual Insights
Darkness is an invitation for liht to shine.
Every revival begins with someone who refuses to remain spiritually asleep.
God often changes a nation by first changing His people.
The greatest enemy of revival is not persecution but spiritual complacency.
The Church's influence is measured not only by attendance but by transformed lives.
Practical Action Steps
1. Rebuild your personal prayer life.
2. Study God's Word daily.
3. Share the Gospel with someone every week.
4. Live with integrity in your workplace, school, and community.
5. Mentor younger believers.
6. Support your local church faithfully.
7. Refuse compromise regardless of societal pressure.
8. Become known as someone who carries God's presence.
Questions for Reflection
Have I become spiritually comfortable?
Is my life influencing people toward Christ?
What area of my spiritual life needs awakening?
Am I contributing to revival or merely observing events?
If every Christian lived like me, what kind of Church would we have?
Powerful Prayer Points
1. Father, awaken every sleeping area of my spiritual life in Jesus' Name.
2. Lord, restore my passion for Your Word, prayer, and holiness.
3. Every spirit of fear, compromise, and complacency, break your hold over my life in Jesus' Name.
4. Make me a light that shines brightly in my family, workplace, and community.
5. Raise bold Christians who will proclaim the Gospel with love and truth.
6. Let revival begin in my heart, my home, my church, and my nation.
7. Empower me with the Holy Spirit to stand firm in these challenging times.
8. Use my life to bring hope, healing, and transformation to others for the glory of Christ.
Call to Action
Church, history is shaped by those who answer God's call. Our generation faces confusion, fear, and moral decline, but God has not left Himself without witnesses. He is still calling men and women who will stand for truth, love people, and proclaim the Gospel with courage.
This is not the time to sleep. It is not the time to hide. It is not the time to blend in with the world.
Arise in prayer. Arise in holiness. Arise in compassion. Arise in evangelism. Arise in faithful service.
The world may say, "Something is wrong," but let our response be, "Here am I, Lord. Send me."
May the Holy Spirit ignite a fresh fire within us, so that through our lives, many will see Christ and glorify our Father in heaven.
"Arise, shine; for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you." (Isaiah 60:1)
