"Beloved, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence toward God." 1 John 3:21
God created man in such a way that almost everyone has the ability to understand good and evil. The conscience that is inside man gives him a sense of good and evil. Therefore, if any sin or evil resides in the heart, it can be understood and his heart then condemns him. When we come to God with such a guilty heart, we have no courage in our lives. When Adam and Eve did not fall, they had no fear of meeting God. Rather, they would come before Him with joy. But the day they disobeyed and sinned, they could no longer come before God. They had to hide behind the trees. Genesis 3:8. Why? Because their hearts were
So when our hearts convict us of disobedience or unworthiness, we should first address those issues. 1 John 1:7 says, “The blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanses us from all sin.” When we repent of our sins and are washed in the Lord’s atoning blood, we have the courage to stand before God again.
Prayer is a connection with God. When our spirit is united with His spirit, then we can offer proper prayer. Therefore, before praying, we should examine ourselves to see if there is any known sin or disobedience within us... The chimney of the wheel is its own night.
"Who may ascend the mountain of the Lord, or stand in his holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who has not lifted up his soul to vanity, nor sworn deceitfully?" - Psalm 24:3-4.
