The Holy Spirit doesn't convict believers of sin. That's churchianity teaching, but it isn't in the Bible.

The Spirit convicts the unbelievers of sin -- not the believers. There is no condemnation for those in Christ -- not in the least bit.

Romans 8:1 NASB
โ€œTherefore there is now no condemnation at all for those who are in Christ Jesus.โ€

Speaking of the Holy Spirit Jesus said in John 16:8, โ€œAnd He, when He comes, will convict the world regarding sin, and righteousness, and judgment:โ€

But look at the next verse.

John 16:9 NASB

He convicts the ๐˜‚๐—ป๐—ฏ๐—ฒ๐—น๐—ถ๐—ฒ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐˜€ of sin. He doesnโ€™t convict believers of sin. The Holy Spirit convicts those who ๐๐จ ๐ง๐จ๐ญ ๐›๐ž๐ฅ๐ข๐ž๐ฏ๐ž in Jesus of their sin.

He convicts believers of their righteousness.

John 16:10 NASB
โ€œand regarding righteousness, because I am going to the Father and you no longer are going to see Me;

We know unbelievers are unrighteous, but believers have the righteousness of God in Christ.

2 Corinthians 5:21 NASB
โ€œHe made Him who knew no sin to be sin in our behalf, so that we might become ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐—ด๐—ต๐˜๐—ฒ๐—ผ๐˜‚๐˜€๐—ป๐—ฒ๐˜€๐˜€ ๐—ผ๐—ณ ๐—š๐—ผ๐—ฑ in Him.โ€

We believers are in Christ, and we have the righteousness of God. There can be no better righteousness than that! When we sin, we believers are convicted by our own conscience โ€” not the Holy Spirit.

1 John 3:19-20 NASB
We will know by this that we are of the truth, and will set our heart at ease before Him, [20] that if ๐—ผ๐˜‚๐—ฟ ๐—ต๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐˜ ๐—ฐ๐—ผ๐—ป๐—ฑ๐—ฒ๐—บ๐—ป๐˜€ ๐˜‚๐˜€, that God is greater than our heart, and He knows all things.

The Holy Spirit doesn't convict the believer of sin. If you feel conviction of sin as a believer, it is your own conscience doing that.

Titus 3:11 NASB
knowing that such a person has deviated from what is right and is sinning, being ๐˜€๐—ฒ๐—น๐—ณ-๐—ฐ๐—ผ๐—ป๐—ฑ๐—ฒ๐—บ๐—ป๐—ฒ๐—ฑ.

2 Corinthians 1:12 NASB
For our proud confidence is this: ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐˜๐—ฒ๐˜€๐˜๐—ถ๐—บ๐—ผ๐—ป๐˜† ๐—ผ๐—ณ ๐—ผ๐˜‚๐—ฟ ๐—ฐ๐—ผ๐—ป๐˜€๐—ฐ๐—ถ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐—ฐ๐—ฒ, that in holiness and godly sincerity, not in fleshly wisdom but in the grace of God, we have conducted ourselves in the world, and especially toward you.

1 Timothy 1:5 NASB
But the goal of our instruction is love from a pure heart, ๐—ณ๐—ฟ๐—ผ๐—บ ๐—ฎ ๐—ด๐—ผ๐—ผ๐—ฑ ๐—ฐ๐—ผ๐—ป๐˜€๐—ฐ๐—ถ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐—ฐ๐—ฒ, and from a sincere faith.

2 Timothy 1:3 NASB
I thank God, whom I serve ๐˜„๐—ถ๐˜๐—ต ๐—ฎ ๐—ฐ๐—น๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—ฟ ๐—ฐ๐—ผ๐—ป๐˜€๐—ฐ๐—ถ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐—ฐ๐—ฒ the way my forefathers did, as I constantly remember you in my prayers night and day,

For a believer, the Holy Spirit is called the comforter - not the convictor. There is no comfort in conviction. There is only condemnation, and we know there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ.
