Daily devotion: Deuteronomy 31:6

“Be strong and courageous, Do not fear or be in dread of them [your enemies], for it’s the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.”

As mere human beings we are prone to experience times of fear and anxiety. Many would even believe that God has forsaken them. I can understand this desperation, for the world has become saturated with evil. We, as Christians, sometimes fear for our lives.

For you who feel miserable and frightened, remember this scripture: Psalm 27:1: “The Lord is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life, of whom shall I be afraid?”

All these verses boil down to one thing…. TRUST IN GOD. He will never leave you and, even in your darkest moments, He is present, reaching out to you with compassion and love. God knows the pain you’re going through. He will lift you up and set your feet on solid ground. He is ALWAYS with you.

Philippians 4:6 says it so well: “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving let your requests be known to God.”

I pray and hope you find peace in this cruel world we live in. Let us look up to our Lord for He is not superficial like the things the world require. He is our immortal beacon of light in the horrific darkness that have descended on this evil world.
