Most of the time you really want to serve God, you really want to go to heaven, you really want to live as those Christians you read about in the Bible; you really do want to live as Christians, but you are not ready to give up EVERYTHING that occupies your heart and surrender them to the LORD Jesus. When God asks you for those things, like He asked Abraham for his only son, Isaac, the rich young ruler for his riches, Hannah for Samuel, will you be ready to give them to Him? You see, beloved, you must endeavour and strive to steer clear of evil, by following the leading of the Holy Spirit at all times. Evil is always on hot pursuit, ready to overtake you. That's the reality in the world. But when your heart is perfectly stayed in the LORD, the best fruits of goodness manifests. As you meditate on this devotional, think of those things that you would not readily give up and ask yourself "ARE THESE THINGS WORTH MY ETERNITY?
