TODAY'S KINGDOM INSIGHTS SERMON TOPIC: WALKING IN WISDOM EVERY DAY "Living a Life That Pleases God in Every Decision" Many people are intelligent, but not everyone is wise. Education can give knowledge. Experience can give skill. But only God gives true wisdom. We live in a world filled with confusion, deception, and countless voices competing for our attention. Every day we make decisions that shape our future, our families, our ministry, and our relationship with God. One wrong decision can bring years of regret. One wise decision can change generations. God is not only calling us to be believers; He is calling us to become people who walk in wisdom every single day. Key Bible Texts Proverbs 4:7 > "Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding." Explanation: God places wisdom above earthly possessions. Wisdom helps us know not only what is right but also when and how to do it. James 1:5 > "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God..." Explanation: Wisdom is not earned by age alone. It is a gift from God to those who seek Him with humility. Ephesians 5:15–16 > "See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise." Explanation: Paul reminds believers that every day presents opportunities and dangers. Wisdom helps us redeem the time by living purposefully. 1. Wisdom Begins with the Fear of God Proverbs 9:10 > "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. A wise person does not merely know about God; they honor Him. The fear of God means: Respecting His Word Obeying His commands Avoiding sin Living to please Him Without reverence for God, every other form of wisdom is incomplete. Spiritual Insight: The closer you walk with God, the wiser your decisions become. 2. Wisdom Guides Every Decision Life is a series of choices. Whom will you marry? What career will you pursue? How will you spend your money? What friends will influence you? Wisdom asks: Is this God's will? Will this glorify Christ? What are the long-term consequences? Many problems come not because God failed us, but because we ignored His wisdom. Proverbs 3:5–6 Trust in the Lord before trusting your own understanding. 3. Wisdom Controls Our Words Proverbs 15:1 > "A soft answer turneth away wrath..." One careless sentence can destroy years of friendship. Wise believers know: when to speak when to remain silent how to encourage how to correct in love Jesus Himself demonstrated wisdom in every conversation. Ask yourself before speaking: Is it true? Is it necessary? Is it loving? Is it the right time? 4. Wisdom Chooses the Right Company Proverbs 13:20 > "He that walketh with wise men shall be wise..." Your companions influence your character. The people you spend time with affect: your faith your habits your vision your destiny Choose friends who strengthen your walk with God rather than pull you away from Him. 5. Wisdom Produces a Life That Honors God True wisdom is seen in daily living. It produces: humility patience integrity forgiveness generosity self-control People should see Christ in our choices, not only hear about Him in our words. A wise Christian becomes a light in a dark world. Biblical Case Study: Solomon (1 Kings 3) When God appeared to Solomon and offered him anything he desired, Solomon did not ask for wealth, long life, or victory over his enemies. He asked for wisdom to lead God's people. Because he valued wisdom first, God also gave him riches, honor, and influence. Lesson: When God's wisdom becomes your priority, He often entrusts you with other blessings in His perfect time. Real-Life Illustration Imagine two builders. One builds on solid rock. The other builds on loose sand. Both houses appear beautiful. When the storm comes, only the house built on the rock remains standing. Daily wisdom is like building on the rock. Every godly decision strengthens the foundation of your life. When trials come, wisdom helps you stand firm because your life is anchored in God's truth. Practical Action Steps 1. Begin every day by praying for God's wisdom. 2. Read and meditate on Scripture daily. 3. Think before making important decisions. 4. Seek counsel from mature believers. 5. Avoid friendships and habits that weaken your faith. 6. Let your words reflect the love and truth of Christ. 7. Learn from both your successes and your mistakes. Deep Spiritual Insights Wisdom is not measured by age but by obedience to God. Every temptation is also an opportunity to choose wisdom. The Holy Spirit guides believers into wise living when we remain sensitive to His leading.
