JACOB AND RACHEL. Where Jacob works fourteen total years for his uncle Laban to marry Rachel, his beloved wife. Jacob meets Rachel at a well while she is tending her father's sheep. He shows his strength by rolling away a heavy stone to water her flock. He falls in love with Rachel at first sight and agrees to work for seven years for her father, Laban, in exchange for her hand in marriage. Laban tricks Jacob on the wedding night by substituting his older daughter, Leah, instead of Rachel. Laban claims that local custom requires the oldest daughter to marry first. Jacob agrees to work another seven years so he can marry Rachel immediately. God later opens Rachel's womb and she gives birth to Joseph. Rachel tragically dies later while giving birth to her second son, Benjamin. Despite human flaws and family rivalry, they become the parents of the twelve tribes of Israel.
