Purgatory??
The flesh is corrupt and sinful by nature. Believers though are not condemned, even though we remain in our earth suits. We are born again and made new creatures by the Holy Spirit. We are purified from sin and sin's effects despite our human condition, and our spirits are entirely acceptable to God. We have been washed clean in the blood of the Lamb of God. We will never be cast away.
This body of flesh and blood will be disposed of one day, and my spirit will go without blemish, without spot, without stain, without wrinkle, without the stench or taint of sin in any way to the Father of lights where we will live with Him forever more.
We believers don't require any other means of purification to be acceptable to God. No extra cleaning in a purgatory is needed. The blood of Jesus is more than sufficient. To think otherwise is to diminish the power and value of His blood and undermine the efficacy of His "finished" work on the cross.
Colossians 1:19-22 NASB
"For it was the Father’s good pleasure for all the fullness to dwell in Him, [20] and through Him to reconcile all things to Himself, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross. [21] And although you were previously alienated and hostile in attitude, engaged in evil deeds, [22] yet He has now reconciled you in His body of flesh through death, in order to present you before Him holy and blameless and beyond reproach."
