Good morning, brethren.
1. MD.i. MORNING TEA
THE WORD FOR TODAY. WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 2, 2O26.
"TAKE GOD TO WORK WITH YOU"
'You are the salt of the earth...Matthew 5:13 NKJV.
JON GORDON says: โI speak to a lot of organisations on the importance of positive leadership and the benefits of building a positive culture that fuels performance. Yet the most common question I receive is, โHow do I stay positive when my boss isnโt?โ Here are a few suggestions: Even though youโre not the leaderโฆfocus on being the best and bringing out the best in the people you work withโฆtune out negativity and negative comments. Remember, you canโt control what other people say and do, but you can control how you react.โ Dr. David Hawkins says, โEighty percent of the population vibrates to a negative frequency. Itโs all around us. Stay above the fray.โ Thereโs an old adage, โNever wrestle with a pig because youโll both get dirtyโand the pig will enjoy himself!โ Jesus said, โYou are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.โ Matthew 5:14 NKJV. Make up your mind to be the beacon that shines in your workplace. Bottom line: most people donโt enjoy being negative. Many times theyโre that way because of stress, being too busy and fear. Most of them just need a wake-up call to break out of their rut, and contrary to what you may think, youย canย be that instrument of change. Jesus also said, โYou are the salt of the earth,โ and salt has two functions. It stops things from going bad, and it adds taste and flavour. Your job as a Christian is to preserve, reconcile, and give hope to those around you; including the people you work with every day.โ So, take God to work with you.

*EXPLOITS AFTER A REGRETFUL AND GREAT FALL*
*TEXT:* JUDGES 16:22-31.
22ย Howbeit the hair of his head began to grow again after he was shaven.
23ย Then the lords of the Philistines gathered them together for to offer a great sacrifice unto Dagon their god, and to rejoice: for they said, Our god hath delivered Samson our enemy into our hand.
24ย And when the people saw him, they praised their god: for they said, Our god hath delivered into our hands our enemy, and the destroyer of our country, which slew many of us.
25ย And it came to pass, when their hearts were merry, that they said, Call for Samson, that he may make us sport. And they called for Samson out of the prison house; and he made them sport: and they set him between the pillars.
26ย And Samson said unto the lad that held him by the hand, Suffer me that I may feel the pillars whereupon the house standeth, that I may lean upon them.
27ย Now the house was full of men and women; and all the lords of the Philistines were there; and there were upon the roof about three thousand men and women, that beheld while Samson made sport.
28ย And Samson called unto theย LORD, and said, O LORD God, remember me, I pray thee, and strengthen me, I pray thee, only this once, O God, that I may be at once avenged of the Philistines for my two eyes.
29ย And Samson took hold of the two middle pillars upon which the house stood, and on which it was borne up, of the one with his right hand, and of the other with his left.
30ย And Samson said, Let me die with the Philistines. And he bowed himself with all his might; and the house fell upon the lords, and upon all the people that were therein. So the dead which he slew at his death were more than they which he slew in his life.
31ย Then his brethren and all the house of his father came down, and took him, and brought him up, and buried him between Zorah and Eshtaol in the buryingplace of Manoah his father. And he judged Israel twenty years.
*Timeless Truth:* _"Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, theย LORDย shall be a light unto me"_ (Micah 7:8).
*INTRODUCTION*
Have you ever experienced a fatal fall, a deadly defeat or a failed project and frustrations before? Do you have a great expectation of being used by God, but suddenly the unexpected happened and you became hopeless? Samson comes as an encouragement and hopes that the beginning does not recommend a man, but the end. It is not the great fall that matters, but how you respond to it. Micah was very hopeful when he said *"when I fall I will rise again"*. There are people who think
a great fall or failure is the end of life. Samson turned his own to a great exploit and his name is among the heroes of faith in Hebrews 11.
Failure is painful, especially, when it follows great privilege, remarkable strength and outstanding opportunities. Samson's fall was regrettable because he allowed lust, carelessness, and disobedience to rob him of his spiritual strength and divine usefulness. Yet, the text reveals that failure does not necessarily have to be the final chapter of a person's life. Though Samson lost his sight, freedom, reputation and strength, God was still able to accomplish His purpose through a repentant and dependent servant. There can be restoration and renewed exploits after a great fall when we return genuinely to God.
*1. Faith Restoration Through Strategic Silence*
a. Though he fell through his carelessness, he had the opportunity to go into silence and reflected about his life, how he fell, why he fell and the pathway to restoration. He did not allow his fall to resign him to hopeless regrets. The restoration of his faith and strength was represented by the restoration of his hairs, the emblem of his power. *โHowbeit the hair of his head began to grow again after he was shaven off.โ*
Samson's hair began to grow again while he was in captivity. It took time. Restoration from a great fall may take time too and it will require patience. There is no record of great speeches, self-defence or public arguments from him during this period. Sometimes, restoration begins in the quiet place of reflection, repentance and renewed dependence on God. Samson's growing hair symbolized the gradual restoration of his consecration and relationship with the Lord. b. At times, the Church puts someone on Church discipline after a great or regrettable fall. It is not meant to destroy the person's life and ministry. It is meant to help him withdraw from the noisy environment of activities and reflect to get restored and get refuelled. Times of silence should not be a time of passivity or engaging in worldly and vain engagements. Apostle Paul, though never a fallen hero, had several long time of silence in ministry. After conversion, he stayed three years in Arabia and Damascus (Syria) (Galatians 1:17,18). He also spent two years at least once in incarceration (Acts 28:30). Were they a waste of years for a very active itenerant apostle? The silent period was an opportunity for him to stay away from the noisy environment and concentrate on God for restoration, renewal, revival and revelation of the mystery of the gospel
Those who have fallen should not remain permanently in despair; they should quietly return to God and allow His grace to rebuild what sin has destroyed.
*Question*
Are you allowing God to restore your faith and consecration in the quiet place of genuine repentance?
*2. False Representation of Satanic Strength*
a. The Philistines ascribed the fall and the defeat of Samson to their idol. The Philistines gathered to celebrate and give glory to Dagon for Samson's capture. They falsely concluded that their god had defeated the God of Israel. Was it true that it was the god of the Philistines that made Samson to be defeated? Was it the Dagon that made Samson to be careless with women? Was it Dagon that made Samson marry outside Israel which was against the will of God? Was it Dagon that made Samson to be careless with his calling? Definitely NO. Samson decided to yield his will in the wrong direction and the consequences of such actions were inevitably deadly. In the same way, Satan deceives his followers to believe that all the good that happens to them are from him and all the defeats or falling that happen to the saints are his works. But they are lies. Today many saints ascribe their falls or defeats to Satan when in actual fact the problem was the state of their heart and wrong choices in life. Satan does not have the power to make a saint of God to fall or backslide without the cooperation and will of the person. He is not Almighty.
b. Satan always seeks to turn the failure of God's people into an occasion for mocking God and celebrating evil. Samson bore full responsibility for his actions and had nothing to do with God's power. In fact, no matter the satanic assault, God has the power to keep the saint from falling. *"Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy.."* (Jude 24). God can keep all His children from falling and from any fault from now till eternity. Satan may exploit a believer's momentary fall, but God's purpose cannot be permanently destroyed. What appears to be the end may become the beginning of a new testimony. Let no failure give the enemy the final opportunity to define your destiny.
*Question*
Will you rise through God's grace and refuse to allow your past failure to become Satan's permanent testimony against your life?
*3. Full Realization of the Strength of the Spirit*
a. Samson, though for a short time, got his ministry back in full force, the angel that prophesied of his birth prophesied that *"he shall begin to deliver the children of Israel from the hand of the Philistines"*. His faith was restored, he also got the power of prayer which we did not see manifested in him before his fall, showing a deeper and closer walk with God as a result of his confinement. He got the lost anointing back. He was able to destroy thousands of Philistines more than he ever did altogether in his lifetime. Mighty exploits can still be done for God at an old age when it appears the person should only be expecting death. Age is a number and challenges are all stepping stones to greater profitability. Great exploits can still be accomplished inspite of human frailty or weakness. Samson did more as a blind person than when the two eyes were seeing. Great things can still be done for God after a great fall or defeat like it happened to Samson. Samson was listed among the great heroes of faith because he did not allow his unfortunate spiritual and ministerial accident to define his life. He shook that psychological trauma off his garment and continued to move on after a fresh encounter with God.
b. He cried unto the Lord, saying, *โO Lord GOD, remember me, I pray thee, and strengthen me, I pray thee, only this once.โ* His greatest victory came when he fully depended upon God's strength.
The Spirit of God enabled Samson to accomplish in his final moment what he could not achieve by personal strength alone. The exploit was not a celebration of Samson's physical power, but a demonstration of divine strength working through a humbled and dependent man. His final victory teaches us that God can still use a broken vessel that sincerely, returns to Him. Those who know how to cry to God will have their limitations under their feet.
*Question*
Have you fully realized that lasting victory and meaningful exploits can only come through the strength supplied by the Spirit of God?
*Prayer Points*
1.Lord, have mercy upon me and restore every area of my life that has been damaged through sin, disobedience and carelessness .
2.Father, grant me the grace to remain quiet, humble and repentant while You rebuild my faith and consecration .
3.O Lord, disappoint every satanic celebration and turn my past failures into testimonies of Your restoring grace .
4.Father, let the Holy Spirit, strengthen Your children afresh and enable us to accomplish great exploits for Your glory , in Jesus' name .

```KEY VERSE:``` _*"And Samson called unto the LORD, and said, O Lord GOD, remember me, I pray thee, and strengthen me, I pray thee, only this once, O God, that I may be at once avenged of the Philistines for my two eyes" (JUDGES 16:28).*_
*Long-distWHEN runners most often seem to acquire strange strength when they get to the last lap of their race. This is quite understandable. To the runner, already seeing the finishing line, the last lap is so decisive and, therefore, demands that the runner throws in everything he can muster.*
*As seen in our text, Samson was in the final lap of his ministry and life. For about two decades, he had been the champion of Israel. Severally, he had humbled the enemies of Israel, especially the Philistines, by his God-given superhuman strength. But alas! he fell in love with Delilah - a Philistines harlot who had a mandate to bring him down. She tricked Samson into revealing the secret of his power. The Philistines cashed in on that information, bound Samson, put out his eyes and made him grind in their prison. Thus, Samson became a classical victim of fleshly lust.*
*In today's text, we find Samson thoroughly abused during the Philistines' solemn festival in honour of Dagon, their god. They made a show of him. But Samson remembered his God and prayed for just one more chance to deal with the Philistines. The Lord granted his prayer, and he, holding on to the two key pillars of the huge theatre, pulled the structure down, crushing the whole assembly of men and women and dying in the process. He slew more in death than in life.*
*We have as much to learn from Samson's restoration as from his last prayer. Any backslider that sincerely runs back to God, even if it be by the force of adversity, will receive pardon and grace. As believers, we must be conscious of the desperate hour we are in today. We have come to the last lap of history. The hosts of hell must not be allowed to have the last laugh. Our reserved strength and preserved resources must be called up for the great commission and the challenges of the hour. We must muster our reserved strength and passion to cause unprecedented damage to the kingdom of Satan and rescue souls from his prison house.*
*Stormy weather refers to a violent disturbance of the atmosphere with strong winds, rain, thunder, lightning or snow. Naturally, living things, including human beings, avoid storms, except the eagle. The eagle is the only bird that embraces the turbulence of the storm to fly higher as it takes the advantage of strong winds to achieve such feat.*
*Storms of life are inevitable. Storms, like persecution, hunger, academic setback, inadequate provision, loss of close relatives, are common to believers. Storms do not signify the end of the road. If a storm comes your way, do not be perturbed like sinners who have no hope. God is aware of your situation every time. He will work it out for you.*
*There is safety under the wings of the Lord. No amount of storm can flush out the water inside the coconut fruit. Apostle Paul got to Rome despite the storm on his way. With Jesus in your heart, you will surely smile during stormy moments. However, make sure you are a child of God to enjoy the promise of His presence in times of challenges.*
Good doctors are never in a rush to treat their patients. The patient may be groaning in pains, yet they will first run tests upon tests to find out what the real problem is. They do this to avoid mistakes in treatment.
Children of God need to run a test to know what the will of God is before they act. Is it good? Is it acceptable? Is it perfect? If it passes the three-stage test, then it is the will of God. Your actions and decisions must always pass these three tests before your life can please God.
*Don't be in a hurry to guess, speak or act; first wait and run the test to confirm if what you want to do is the will of God. What you want to do with your body, think in your heart, say with your mouth, watch with your eyes, listen to with your ears, do with your hands, and the place you want to go to with your feet - are they holy, acceptable, pleasing and perfect before God?*
Any of your thoughts and actions that fails the test of God's will, should be rejected because it is not acceptable to God. That is the only way to please God. Apply the test of God's will to anything you will do today at home, school, on the playground and also in the Church.
*Remember to always pause and carry out the test on every one of your activities. If it fails, it is sinful. If it passes, go ahead and do it; it is godly, and God will bless you in return.*
2. Morning Prayer for today.
MP.i. Morning Prayer
These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. โค John 16:33
There is nothing that makes us love a man so much as praying for him. โค William Law
May You teach us the lesson of cheerfulness, O God. We are too easily irritated and cast down. We let little troubles and difficulties discourage us. Our joy is too easily overshadowed. Our song of gladness too often turns into a dirge. We fret ourselves needlessly and fail to rejoice always. Sorrows come over us like a flood and bury us beneath their dark waves. Our gladness is too easily turned to sadness as lifeโs cares and trials come upon us.
We hear You bidding us to be of good cheer because You have overcome the world, telling us that though we have tribulations, we may have peace in You. But the lesson is not easy. Itโs hard for us to keep the song always in our hearts and the sunshine always on our faces when there are so many cares.
We come to You, pleading that You will teach us how to always be cheerful. Help us to have such a strong, quiet, firm faith in Jesus that no matter what comes into our lives, we may always rejoice. Rescue us from discouragement, no matter how great its cause may appear to be. Help us to cast every burden on You, sure that You will sustain us. Help us to learn to rejoice even in disappointments, knowing that if we could see all as You see, we would find beauty and good in everything that seems painful and dark to us.
We desire to be ministers of cheer to others. Forbid that we should go out with sadness in our faces, casting a shadow on other lives. May we be sunshine to others. May we show the world what grace can do in making us messengers of gladness. We ask this in the name of Him who overcame the world and can give us peace. Amen.
Good evening, brethren.
1. Evening devotion for today.
ED.i. *DAILY WALK WITH CHRIST*
(COCIN DEVOTIONAL)
*WELCOME TO SEPTEMBER, 2026.*
SUB-THEME:
THE FAMILY AND THE GRACE OF GOD.
*INTRODUCTION:*
Humility is the product of God's grace. Man is justified freely by God's grace through the redemptive work of Christ Jesus (Rom. 3:24). God intends for the family to enjoy His grace. Therefore, the focus for this month is "THE FAMILY AND THE GRACE OF GOD." We shall study how the family should live and display grace to one another. As we examine how grace should be displayed in family relationships, may we be willing to learn and change our graceless attitudes where necessary so that our homes may fulfil God's desire for families.
*MEMORY VERSE FOR THE MONTH:*
PROVERBS 3:34.
He mocks the proud mocker but gives grace to the humble and oppressed.
*DATE:*
TUESDAY 1ST SEPTEMBER, 2026.
*TOPIC:*
FAMILY INSTITUTED BY GOD.
*TEXT:*
GENESIS 1:26-27.
26. Then God said, โLet us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.โ
27. So God created mankind in His own image, in the image of God He created them; male and female He created them.
*TOPIC:*
FAMILY INSTITUTED BY GOD.
*THE MESSAGE:*
The creation of man in God's image is simply by grace. Man did nothing to merit that. God foresaw that man would need a companion, so, in creation, a provision was made for the woman. Today's passage makes it clear that God created the female alongside the man, though not visibly seen. That is why, at the right time, God only needed to make visible the woman who was in man (Gen. 2:18, 21-22). Indeed, this is the institution of the family. The understanding that God is the originator of the family is enough to make humanity respect the family setup. You are counselled to seek God's will and directions in seeking a life partner because He knows the person who can help fulfil His mandate or purpose in life.
*REFLECTION:*
The family is God's initiative.
*PRAYER:*
Lord, thank You for the gift of my family. Amen.
*TODAY'S BIBLE READING PLAN:*
HOSEA 1-3.
ED.ii. WHY IS THE BIBLE THE TRUTH?
"For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart." - Hebrews 4:12
God wants us to have a good life, because Jesus says: 'I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full' (John 10:10). To be able to enjoy this good life it is important for our faith to be based on the firm foundation that the Bible is the inspired Word of God! The Bible teaches all that God has spoken. If you do not believe that, then there is no need to discuss further!
God speaks through His Word
I believe the Bible is true because of the content. God speaks to us from His Word. You have to know the Word. God says: 'My people are being destroyed because they don't know Me' (Hosea 4:6). When you get to know the Bible, you will believe God.
Inspired by God's Holy Spirit
The Bible is written by shepherds, politicians, princes, kings, poets, doctors and prophets. People from different layers of society, from different cultures and backgrounds and during a period of 2000 years. The 66 books of the Bible deal with various topics such as history, poetry, prophecy, proverbs, etc. So many different writers, so many different books and yet one book full of harmony. All chapters have the same purpose, the same doctrine: a plan of love, a plan of salvation, a plan of faith. How is it possible for these 40 writers to be so united? They all were inspired by the Holy Spirit of God, who has always been the same throughout the ages. This is the reason for the harmony. Nobody has ever been able to prove that the Bible is not true.
That is why I say to you: be filled with the Word of God. Read your Bible - the Truth - every day. Let the Bible take a central place in your life. The Bible provides the answer to all your problems. Approach God more and you will see that He shows Himself to you more and more.
2. Evening Prayer for today.
EP.i. Evening Prayer
Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend. โค Proverbs 27:17
To clasp the hands in prayer is the beginning of an uprising against the disorder of the world. โค Karl Barth
Father in Heaven, we, Your children, come before You at this holy evening hour. Your blessings have followed us every day, and Your protection has sheltered us every night. We are weak, mere infants in this great world, but Your strength has always enfolded us, and Your love has always warmed our hearts. This evening, we seek new blessings. May Your holy love fill our hearts, and may the beauty of the Lord Jesus be upon us.
We have encountered many people today. May the words we spoke to others, even in passing, not be lost or in vain. May they be as good seeds, growing beauty along the paths we have walked. If we have spoken wrong words, forgive us, and grant us an opportunity to say something good that will counteract the negative influence. Bless and sanctify the touches and influences that other lives have left upon us today. Let nothing be done that mars our character because of any wrong done to us or in us today.
We ask You to bless and sanctify our friendships. Protect us from any friendships that would harm us, entangle us in unholy or hurtful relationships, or injure our character. We want personal friends who are holy, whose influence will be helpful and inspiring. Choose our friends for us, and help us to be true and faithful as friends. Help us to nurture our home affections and all our friendships, so that they become truer, deeper, and holier. Above all, may we always have You as our best and closest Friend, for Your love is everlasting. We ask all this in the name of our precious Savior. Amen.
*Timeless Truth:* _"Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, theย LORDย shall be a light unto me"_ (Micah 7:8).
*INTRODUCTION*
Have you ever experienced a fatal fall, a deadly defeat or a failed project and frustrations before? Do you have a great expectation of being used by God, but suddenly the unexpected happened and you became hopeless? Samson comes as an encouragement and hopes that the beginning does not recommend a man, but the end. It is not the great fall that matters, but how you respond to it. Micah was very hopeful when he said *"when I fall I will rise again"*. There are people who think
a great fall or failure is the end of life. Samson turned his own to a great exploit and his name is among the heroes of faith in Hebrews 11.
Failure is painful, especially, when it follows great privilege, remarkable strength and outstanding opportunities. Samson's fall was regrettable because he allowed lust, carelessness, and disobedience to rob him of his spiritual strength and divine usefulness. Yet, the text reveals that failure does not necessarily have to be the final chapter of a person's life. Though Samson lost his sight, freedom, reputation and strength, God was still able to accomplish His purpose through a repentant and dependent servant. There can be restoration and renewed exploits after a great fall when we return genuinely to God.
*1. Faith Restoration Through Strategic Silence*
a. Though he fell through his carelessness, he had the opportunity to go into silence and reflected about his life, how he fell, why he fell and the pathway to restoration. He did not allow his fall to resign him to hopeless regrets. The restoration of his faith and strength was represented by the restoration of his hairs, the emblem of his power. *โHowbeit the hair of his head began to grow again after he was shaven off.โ*
Samson's hair began to grow again while he was in captivity. It took time. Restoration from a great fall may take time too and it will require patience. There is no record of great speeches, self-defence or public arguments from him during this period. Sometimes, restoration begins in the quiet place of reflection, repentance and renewed dependence on God. Samson's growing hair symbolized the gradual restoration of his consecration and relationship with the Lord. b. At times, the Church puts someone on Church discipline after a great or regrettable fall. It is not meant to destroy the person's life and ministry. It is meant to help him withdraw from the noisy environment of activities and reflect to get restored and get refuelled. Times of silence should not be a time of passivity or engaging in worldly and vain engagements. Apostle Paul, though never a fallen hero, had several long time of silence in ministry. After conversion, he stayed three years in Arabia and Damascus (Syria) (Galatians 1:17,18). He also spent two years at least once in incarceration (Acts 28:30). Were they a waste of years for a very active itenerant apostle? The silent period was an opportunity for him to stay away from the noisy environment and concentrate on God for restoration, renewal, revival and revelation of the mystery of the gospel
Those who have fallen should not remain permanently in despair; they should quietly return to God and allow His grace to rebuild what sin has destroyed.
*Question*
Are you allowing God to restore your faith and consecration in the quiet place of genuine repentance?
*2. False Representation of Satanic Strength*
a. The Philistines ascribed the fall and the defeat of Samson to their idol. The Philistines gathered to celebrate and give glory to Dagon for Samson's capture. They falsely concluded that their god had defeated the God of Israel. Was it true that it was the god of the Philistines that made Samson to be defeated? Was it the Dagon that made Samson to be careless with women? Was it Dagon that made Samson marry outside Israel which was against the will of God? Was it Dagon that made Samson to be careless with his calling? Definitely NO. Samson decided to yield his will in the wrong direction and the consequences of such actions were inevitably deadly. In the same way, Satan deceives his followers to believe that all the good that happens to them are from him and all the defeats or falling that happen to the saints are his works. But they are lies. Today many saints ascribe their falls or defeats to Satan when in actual fact the problem was the state of their heart and wrong choices in life. Satan does not have the power to make a saint of God to fall or backslide without the cooperation and will of the person. He is not Almighty.
b. Satan always seeks to turn the failure of God's people into an occasion for mocking God and celebrating evil. Samson bore full responsibility for his actions and had nothing to do with God's power. In fact, no matter the satanic assault, God has the power to keep the saint from falling. *"Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy.."* (Jude 24). God can keep all His children from falling and from any fault from now till eternity. Satan may exploit a believer's momentary fall, but God's purpose cannot be permanently destroyed. What appears to be the end may become the beginning of a new testimony. Let no failure give the enemy the final opportunity to define your destiny.
*Question*
Will you rise through God's grace and refuse to allow your past failure to become Satan's permanent testimony against your life?
*3. Full Realization of the Strength of the Spirit*
a. Samson, though for a short time, got his ministry back in full force, the angel that prophesied of his birth prophesied that *"he shall begin to deliver the children of Israel from the hand of the Philistines"*. His faith was restored, he also got the power of prayer which we did not see manifested in him before his fall, showing a deeper and closer walk with God as a result of his confinement. He got the lost anointing back. He was able to destroy thousands of Philistines more than he ever did altogether in his lifetime. Mighty exploits can still be done for God at an old age when it appears the person should only be expecting death. Age is a number and challenges are all stepping stones to greater profitability. Great exploits can still be accomplished inspite of human frailty or weakness. Samson did more as a blind person than when the two eyes were seeing. Great things can still be done for God after a great fall or defeat like it happened to Samson. Samson was listed among the great heroes of faith because he did not allow his unfortunate spiritual and ministerial accident to define his life. He shook that psychological trauma off his garment and continued to move on after a fresh encounter with God.
b. He cried unto the Lord, saying, *โO Lord GOD, remember me, I pray thee, and strengthen me, I pray thee, only this once.โ* His greatest victory came when he fully depended upon God's strength.
The Spirit of God enabled Samson to accomplish in his final moment what he could not achieve by personal strength alone. The exploit was not a celebration of Samson's physical power, but a demonstration of divine strength working through a humbled and dependent man. His final victory teaches us that God can still use a broken vessel that sincerely, returns to Him. Those who know how to cry to God will have their limitations under their feet.
*Question*
Have you fully realized that lasting victory and meaningful exploits can only come through the strength supplied by the Spirit of God?
*Prayer Points*
1.Lord, have mercy upon me and restore every area of my life that has been damaged through sin, disobedience and carelessness .
2.Father, grant me the grace to remain quiet, humble and repentant while You rebuild my faith and consecration .
3.O Lord, disappoint every satanic celebration and turn my past failures into testimonies of Your restoring grace .
4.Father, let the Holy Spirit, strengthen Your children afresh and enable us to accomplish great exploits for Your glory , in Jesus' name .
```KEY VERSE:``` _*"And Samson called unto the LORD, and said, O Lord GOD, remember me, I pray thee, and strengthen me, I pray thee, only this once, O God, that I may be at once avenged of the Philistines for my two eyes" (JUDGES 16:28).*_
*Long-distWHEN runners most often seem to acquire strange strength when they get to the last lap of their race. This is quite understandable. To the runner, already seeing the finishing line, the last lap is so decisive and, therefore, demands that the runner throws in everything he can muster.*
*As seen in our text, Samson was in the final lap of his ministry and life. For about two decades, he had been the champion of Israel. Severally, he had humbled the enemies of Israel, especially the Philistines, by his God-given superhuman strength. But alas! he fell in love with Delilah - a Philistines harlot who had a mandate to bring him down. She tricked Samson into revealing the secret of his power. The Philistines cashed in on that information, bound Samson, put out his eyes and made him grind in their prison. Thus, Samson became a classical victim of fleshly lust.*
*In today's text, we find Samson thoroughly abused during the Philistines' solemn festival in honour of Dagon, their god. They made a show of him. But Samson remembered his God and prayed for just one more chance to deal with the Philistines. The Lord granted his prayer, and he, holding on to the two key pillars of the huge theatre, pulled the structure down, crushing the whole assembly of men and women and dying in the process. He slew more in death than in life.*
*We have as much to learn from Samson's restoration as from his last prayer. Any backslider that sincerely runs back to God, even if it be by the force of adversity, will receive pardon and grace. As believers, we must be conscious of the desperate hour we are in today. We have come to the last lap of history. The hosts of hell must not be allowed to have the last laugh. Our reserved strength and preserved resources must be called up for the great commission and the challenges of the hour. We must muster our reserved strength and passion to cause unprecedented damage to the kingdom of Satan and rescue souls from his prison house.*

Naturally, living things, including human beings, avoid storms, except the eagle. The eagle is the only bird that embraces the turbulence of the storm to fly higher as it takes the advantage of strong winds to achieve such feat.*
*Storms of life are inevitable. Storms, like persecution, hunger, academic setback, inadequate provision, loss of close relatives, are common to believers. Storms do not signify the end of the road. If a storm comes your way, do not be perturbed like sinners who have no hope. God is aware of your situation every time. He will work it out for you.*
*There is safety under the wings of the Lord. No amount of storm can flush out the water inside the coconut fruit. Apostle Paul got to Rome despite the storm on his way. Good doctors are never in a rush to treat their patients. The patient may be groaning in pains, yet they will first run tests upon tests to find out what the real problem is. They do this to avoid mistakes in treatment.
Children of God need to run a test to know what the will of God is before they act. Is it good? Is it acceptable? Is it perfect? If it passes the three-stage test, then it is the will of God. Your actions and decisions must always pass these three tests before your life can please God.
*Don't be in a hurry to guess, speak or act; first wait and run the test to confirm if what you want to do is the will of God. What you want to do with your body, think in your heart, say with your mouth, watch with your eyes, listen to with your ears, do with your hands, and the place you want to go to with your feet - are they holy, acceptable, pleasing and perfect before God?*
Any of your thoughts and actions that fails the test of God's will, should be rejected because it is not acceptable to God. That is the only way to please God. Apply the test of God's will to anything you will do today at home, school, on the playground and also in the Church.
*Remember to always pause and carry out the test on every one of your activities. If it fails, it is sinful. If it passes, go ahead and do it; it is godly, and God will bless you in return.*

2. Morning Prayer for today.
MP.i. Morning Prayer
These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. โค John 16:33
There is nothing that makes us love a man so much as praying for him. โค William Law
May You teach us the lesson of cheerfulness, O God. We are too easily irritated and cast down. We let little troubles and difficulties discourage us. Our joy is too easily overshadowed. Our song of gladness too often turns into a dirge. We fret ourselves needlessly and fail to rejoice always. Sorrows come over us like a flood and bury us beneath their dark waves. Our gladness is too easily turned to sadness as lifeโs cares and trials come upon us.
We hear You bidding us to be of good cheer because You have overcome the world, telling us that though we have tribulations, we may have peace in You. But the lesson is not easy. Itโs hard for us to keep the song always in our hearts and the sunshine always on our faces when there are so many cares.
We come to You, pleading that You will teach us how to always be cheerful. Help us to have such a strong, quiet, firm faith in Jesus that no matter what comes into our lives, we may always rejoice. Rescue us from discouragement, no matter how great its cause may appear to be. Help us to cast every burden on You, sure that You will sustain us. Help us to learn to rejoice even in disappointments, knowing that if we could see all as You see, we would find beauty and good in everything that seems painful and dark to us.
We desire to be ministers of cheer to others. Forbid that we should go out with sadness in our faces, casting a shadow on other lives. May we be sunshine to others. May we show the world what grace can do in making us messengers of gladness. We ask this in the name of Him who overcame the world and can give us peace. Amen.

Good evening, brethren.
1. Evening devotion for today.
ED.i. *DAILY WALK WITH CHRIST*
(COCIN DEVOTIONAL)
*WELCOME TO SEPTEMBER, 2026.*
SUB-THEME:
THE FAMILY AND THE GRACE OF GOD.
*INTRODUCTION:*
Humility is the product of God's grace. Man is justified freely by God's grace through the redemptive work of Christ Jesus (Rom. 3:24). God intends for the family to enjoy His grace. Therefore, the focus for this month is "THE FAMILY AND THE GRACE OF GOD." We shall study how the family should live and display grace to one another. As we examine how grace should be displayed in family relationships, may we be willing to learn and change our graceless attitudes where necessary so that our homes may fulfil God's desire for families.
*MEMORY VERSE FOR THE MONTH:*
PROVERBS 3:34.
He mocks the proud mocker but gives grace to the humble and oppressed.
*DATE:*
TUESDAY 1ST SEPTEMBER, 2026.
*TOPIC:*
FAMILY INSTITUTED BY GOD.
*TEXT:*
GENESIS 1:26-27.
26. Then God said, โLet us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.โ
27. So God created mankind in His own image, in the image of God He created them; male and female He created them.
*TOPIC:*
FAMILY INSTITUTED BY GOD.
*THE MESSAGE:*
The creation of man in God's image is simply by grace. Man did nothing to merit that. God foresaw that man would need a companion, so, in creation, a provision was made for the woman. Today's passage makes it clear that God created the female alongside the man, though not visibly seen. That is why, at the right time, God only needed to make visible the woman who was in man (Gen. 2:18, 21-22). Indeed, this is the institution of the family. The understanding that God is the originator of the family is enough to make humanity respect the family setup. You are counselled to seek God's will and directions in seeking a life partner because He knows the person who can help fulfil His mandate or purpose in life.
*REFLECTION:*
The family is God's initiative.
*PRAYER:*
Lord, thank You for the gift of my family. Amen.
*TODAY'S BIBLE READING PLAN:*
HOSEA 1-3.
ED.ii. WHY IS THE BIBLE THE TRUTH?
"For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart." - Hebrews 4:12
God wants us to have a good life, because Jesus says: 'I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full' (John 10:10). To be able to enjoy this good life it is important for our faith to be based on the firm foundation that the Bible is the inspired Word of God! The Bible teaches all that God has spoken. If you do not believe that, then there is no need to discuss further!
God speaks through His Word
I believe the Bible is true because of the content. God speaks to us from His Word. You have to know the Word. God says: 'My people are being destroyed because they don't know Me' (Hosea 4:6). When you get to know the Bible, you will believe God.
Inspired by God's Holy Spirit
The Bible is written by shepherds, politicians, princes, kings, poets, doctors and prophets. People from different layers of society, from different cultures and backgrounds and during a period of 2000 years. The 66 books of the Bible deal with various topics such as history, poetry, prophecy, proverbs, etc. So many different writers, so many different books and yet one book full of harmony. All chapters have the same purpose, the same doctrine: a plan of love, a plan of salvation, a plan of faith. How is it possible for these 40 writers to be so united? They all were inspired by the Holy Spirit of God, who has always been the same throughout the ages. This is the reason for the harmony. Nobody has ever been able to prove that the Bible is not true.
That is why I say to you: be filled with the Word of God. Read your Bible - the Truth - every day. Let the Bible take a central place in your life. The Bible provides the answer to all your problems. Approach God more and you will see that He shows Himself to you more and more.

2. Evening Prayer for today.
EP.i. Evening Prayer
Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend. โค Proverbs 27:17
To clasp the hands in prayer is the beginning of an uprising against the disorder of the world. โค Karl Barth
Father in Heaven, we, Your children, come before You at this holy evening hour. Your blessings have followed us every day, and Your protection has sheltered us every night. We are weak, mere infants in this great world, but Your strength has always enfolded us, and Your love has always warmed our hearts. This evening, we seek new blessings. May Your holy love fill our hearts, and may the beauty of the Lord Jesus be upon us.
We have encountered many people today. May the words we spoke to others, even in passing, not be lost or in vain. May they be as good seeds, growing beauty along the paths we have walked. If we have spoken wrong words, forgive us, and grant us an opportunity to say something good that will counteract the negative influence. Bless and sanctify the touches and influences that other lives have left upon us today. Let nothing be done that mars our character because of any wrong done to us or in us today.
We ask You to bless and sanctify our friendships. Protect us from any friendships that would harm us, entangle us in unholy or hurtful relationships, or injure our character. We want personal friends who are holy, whose influence will be helpful and inspiring. Choose our friends for us, and help us to be true and faithful as friends. Help us to nurture our home affections and all our friendships, so that they become truer, deeper, and holier. Above all, may we always have You as our best and closest Friend, for Your love is everlasting. We ask all this in the name of our precious Savior. Amen.

Good morning, brethren.
1. MD.i. ๐๐บ๐น๐๐๐ MORNING TEA

1.Lord, have mercy upon me and restore every area of my life that has been damaged through sin, disobedience and carelessness ๐.
2.Father, grant me the grace to remain quiet, humble and repentant while You rebuild my faith and consecration ๐.
3.O Lord, disappoint every satanic celebration and turn my past failures into testimonies of Your restoring grace ๐.
4.Father, let the Holy Spirit, strengthen Your children afresh and enable us to accomplish great exploits for Your glory , in Jesus' name ๐.

๐๐```KEY VERSE:``` _*"And Samson called unto the LORD, and said, O Lord GOD, remember me, I pray thee, and strengthen me, I pray thee, only this once, O God, that I may be at once avenged of the Philistines for my two eyes" (JUDGES 16:28).*_

*Stormy weather refers to a violent disturbance of the atmosphere with strong winds, rain, thunder, lightning or snow.

Amen.
