Test It • Keep What Is Good

ANCHOR SCRIPTURE

1 Thessalonians 5:21 (KJV) “Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.”

1. DON'T BELIEVE EVERYTHING

Not everything you hear, see or are told is true.

Faith does not cancel wisdom. Test what you receive.

2. TEST IT BY GOD'S WORD

Before accepting a teaching, advice or spiritual claim, compare it with Scripture.

If it contradicts God's Word, don't hold on to it.


3. KEEP WHAT IS GOOD

After testing, hold firmly to what is true, useful and godly.

Don't throw away the good because you discovered the bad.

4. WALK WITH DISCERNMENT

Be prayerful, thoughtful and careful about the voices you follow.

Proverbs 14:15 (KJV) “The simple believeth every word: but the prudent man looketh well to his going.”

KEY LESSON

1. Test before accepting.
2. Check the Word.
3. Reject what is false.
4. Hold on to what is good.

FINAL CHARGE

Don't swallow everything you hear.
Test it.
Discern it.
Keep what is good.

A wise believer has faith—but also discernment.

SHORT PRAYER

Father, give me wisdom and discernment. Help me to test everything by Your Word, reject what is false and hold firmly to what is good. In Jesus' name, Amen.
