Jesus and his disciples set out to cross the Sea of Galilee in a boat after a long day of teaching. A fierce, sudden gale swamped the boat with waves, putting the vessel in extreme danger. Exhausted from ministry, Jesus slept soundly in the stern, showing his physical human nature. Terrified disciples woke him and Jesus commanded the wind and waves, “Peace, be still,” causing an immediate calm. Jesus rebuked the disciples for their lack of faith, teaching them to trust God's protection rather than yield to panic in trials.
