Growing up in the Appalachian Mtns of Virginia, my grandfather, and old school pastor and carpenter would take me to work with him. As a child I was a golfer and clean up. The lessons I learned back then were so important to my molding into the man I am today, as a husband, father, worker, and evangelist. Many times while traveling he would point to ridge tops and tell stories about the men of the church going up there and building a campfire and then praying all night. Then he would relate miracles and firey revivals that happened during and just after those days of prayer. As an adult those stories became more relevant as I discovered other great revivals across the world being fueled by the prayers of prayer warriors, prayer warriors with a burden for the lost and a vision for revival.
Im afraid that we including myself have lost the burden of prayer and the realization of its power to move God and break the chains of sin and addiction, the power to move mountains and fix relationships. Oh that we could get that revelation and burden for prayer again.
