Good evening, brethren.
1. Evening devotion for today.

ED.i. *DAILY WALK WITH CHRIST*
(COCIN DEVOTIONAL)

*DATE:*
SUNDAY 6TH SEPTEMBER, 2026.

*SUB-THEME:*
THE FAMILY AND THE GRACE OF GOD.

*TOPIC:*
FRUITFULNESS (II).

*TEXT:*
GENESIS 1:28-29.
28. God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.”
29. Then God said, “I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food.

*TOPIC:*
FRUITFULNESS (II).

THE BMESSAGE:
From the time of creation, God has planned that the whole earth should be populated by humanity. He graciously placed man over other creatures. To subdue the earth and have dominion over it means that humans are permitted to make the earth beneficial for themselves. They are to investigate and develop its resources. It does not mean that humans should exploit the earth and its resources to satisfy their greed. God must be glorified in the way we mine and use the resources thereof. God has given us the knowledge to improve on animals and food production. However, do not go beyond God's stipulation. As a child of God, how do you use His given resources? Be warned, do not forget the Lord when you are blessed (cf. Deut. 8:13-18).

*REFLECTION:*
God's resources are available for you.

*PRAYER:*
Father, thank You for Your blessings. Amen.

*MEMORY VERSE FOR THE MONTH:*
PROVERBS 3:34.
He mocks proud mocker but gives grace to the humble and oppressed.

*TODAY'S BIBLE READING PLAN:*
JOEL 1-2.

ED.ii. LUCK HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH BEING SUCCESSFUL

"Let me inherit a double portion of your spirit." - 2 Kings 2:9

There is a saying 'good luck'. This is of course a good wish, but there are Christians who think they are successful because of luck wished to them. The living God, the Creator of heaven and earth, says: 'Luck has nothing to do with My children being healthy or receiving financial blessings. If you are successful, it is because of My anointing and My blessing.'

Obedience

Dear readers, do you understand this? It is not about being lucky, but it is the obedience to God's Word which makes you successful. By holding on to God's promises you receive His blessings. It is the search for God's righteousness. It is walking in the anointing of the living God that blesses you. You do not need a lucky necklace or bracelet to become successful in the Kingdom of God.

Standing on God's promises

God has given us great promises in His Word and standing on these promises makes you successful. Even gamblers do not get anything from luck. 'So David, can't I buy a lottery ticket or put some money in a slot machine?' If this is how you want to spend your money, there will be no blessing on it. God's children know where to sow their seed. A farmer knows that you should not sow your precious seed in soil that does not yield, but he sows the seed in good soil where fruits are brought forth. The Johan Maasbach World Mission has for years proven to be good soil that brings forth fruit.

When Elijah was about to go to heaven and had to say goodbye to Elisha, he asked Elisha: 'Tell me, what can I do for you?'Elisha's reply was: 'Let me inherit a double portion of your spirit' (2 Kings 2:9). If you want to be successful in the Kingdom of God, then this will only happen due to God's anointing on your life.

2. Evening Prayer for today.

EP.i. Evening Prayer

But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. ⏤ Romans 5:8

The prayer of faith is a sincere, sensible, affectionate pouring out of the heart or soul to God. ⏤ John Bunyan

O God of love, we offer You our heartfelt thanks for all Your mercies, but especially for Your unspeakable gift, Jesus Christ, Your Son, in whom all gifts and blessings are included. We thank You that You loved us in our sin, not waiting for us to come to You with our love to win Your love, but that You demonstrated Your love to us in that while we were yet sinners, Jesus died for us. We humbly adore this wonderful love, without which we would have perished forever in our sins.

O may our hearts respond to Your love. Our love is so small in comparison with Yours—so unworthy, so fickle, and uncertain, that we are ashamed to offer it to You. Have mercy upon us, O God, and grant us more of Your grace and of Your Holy Spirit, that our love may be deepened and strengthened.

May this Sunday be blessed to us. Fix in our hearts all the good things we have heard and learned. Sanctify to us all our worship, the instruction we have received, and the holy impressions made upon us. Accept what we have tried to do to help and bless others.

Bless us again as a family as we bow at Your feet. Give us many rich blessings out of Your grace. Bless our time together today. May our home friendships grow deeper and more tender. Teach us how to love each other better. Preserve us from those miserable little faults that mar the life of love in so many homes—criticism, impatience, discourtesy, thoughtlessness, lack of gentleness. May love abound in each heart, so that our home life may be sweet and full of blessing.

We come beneath the shadow of Your wings as we go to our rest. Keep us, enrich us with all goodness and mercy, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
