Speaking the Truth
He who walks uprightly, and works righteousness, and speaks the truth in his heart. Psalm 15:2 (NKJV)

Truth spoken in the heart can never produce lie in the mouth. Honesty of intention and action starts from the heart and manifests through a well-ordered life. There are no degrees of honesty; the only way to be free is to be a person of truth. The beauty and power of truth spoken is that you never have to remember it because truth is always the same, anytime, anywhere.

Truth will win any argument if you stick with it long enough. Truth is one thing for which there is no known substitute. There is no acceptable replacement for honesty; there is no valid excuse for dishonesty, and nothing stinks like lie. It may seem that a lie can take care of the present, but it has no future. Speak it for life is dull without it. This is your day.

Prayer: Eternal Father, I ask for a clean heart and a steady voice. You are the God of truth, and all that is true flows from Your character. Grant me the bold courage to stand for what is right, even when it costs me or brings rejection from others. Remove any spirit of cowardice or anxiety from my mind. When I am tempted to lie for comfort or ease, convict my heart quickly by Your Holy Spirit. Let my life and my lips reflect Your light in a dark world in Jesus’ name.
