**Pastor, are you preaching Jesus or selling Jesus?**
You say you love life and want to preach the Gospel. But let me ask you: will you betray Jesus for the sake of money?
The truth is, some have already begun to betray Him.
When you turn preaching into a product, when you put a price on the message, when you make the Gospel a means of personal enrichment, you need to stop and ask: what are we really doing? Scripture already warned about this: *"the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows"* (1 Timothy 6:10).
You write books, you sell messages, you sell sermons, and you present your own ideas as if they were the Word of God. And often, you insert human thoughts — even harmful thoughts — into what should be holy. Paul faced this same problem in his day: *"we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ"* (2 Corinthians 2:17).
When money becomes the main motivation for preaching, there's a great danger: we start selling what we received for free.
Jesus didn't call us to sell the truth. He called us to proclaim it. He Himself told the disciples: *"Freely ye have received, freely give"* (Matthew 10:8).
Judas put his hand in the same dish as Jesus, and still betrayed Him. He was close to Jesus, heard His words, saw His miracles, but let money take a bigger place than the Lord Himself. Scripture records the exact price of that betrayal: *"And said unto them, What will ye give me, and I will deliver him unto you? And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of silver"* (Matthew 26:15).
And today the question remains:
Are you preaching Jesus or selling Jesus?
Are you serving the Gospel, or using the Gospel to serve your own interests? Peter left this warning for those who shepherd: *"Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind"* (1 Peter 5:2).
May God keep us from putting a price on what He gave us to proclaim.
