The Power That Broke Death Lives in You
The resurrection is not just an event that happened on Sunday. The resurrection is the greatest power ever unleashed in human history. The power that raised Christ from the dead is the same power working in your life today. The same power that broke the chains of death can break the chains of addiction, anger, fear, depression, and anything that has enslaved you.
When Scripture says "the power of His resurrection" lives in us, it means we are not alone in our fight against sin and death. Grace is not just that we are forgiven. Grace also means we have power inside us that enables us to change. Jesus did not die so we could stay as we are. Jesus died and rose so we could die to the old and rise to new life.
Today, no matter how much you feel like a failure, no matter how much you feel you cannot change, remember that the One who said to Lazarus "come out" is the same One saying to you today "rise from your death." Not by your strength, but by the power of His resurrection. Let Him do the miracle He wants to do in you.

THE ROD OF THE WICKED

“For the rod of the wicked shall not rest upon the lot of the righteous; lest the righteous put forth their hands unto iniquity.” Psalm 125:3

The rod represents oppression, domination, affliction, and wicked authority. The Bible acknowledges that the righteous may experience seasons when the rod of the wicked appears to prevail, but it declares that the rod shall not rest upon them.

There is a limit to what the enemy can do. God will not permit oppression to become your permanent portion. What has been pressing you, delaying you, intimidating you, or pushing you toward discouragement will not have the final word.

The key word is “rest.” The rod may touch, but it will not rest. You may pass through a battle, but the battle will not define your destiny. God remains the defender of your inheritance.

Therefore, do not surrender to the pressure. Do not allow prolonged adversity to push you into ungodly decisions. Keep your hands clean and your faith strong. Your inheritance is still in God's hands.

PROPHETIC DECLARATION

The Truth of God

What is truth? Various generations have had different ways of answering that question. It's a popular belief in today’s culture that truth can be whatever you want it to be. This is the idea that truth is relative and unique to every individual person.

But if everyone lives their own truth, then nobody can truly know which one is right. And if one person’s truth contradicts another person’s truth, one of them must be wrong.

Scripture tells us that there is an objective truth available; a truth that we can live by. Rather than truth being grounded in the individual, it is grounded in something much bigger than ourselves.

Truth is sourced from God.

God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe and everything that exists, and the one from whom truth and beauty come. God’s Word contains the truths that He has spoken to us—so that we might live according to His truth and His ways.

Jesus says that His teachings are true because they come from God. He goes on to say that anyone who knows the truth of God will be set free in their life.

When we know the truth, we are no longer living according to a lie. God’s Word tells us the truth and leads us to life. This is why Jesus says that the truth will set us free. That's when we become truly free to live according to how God designed us to live.

An important part of learning what's true and what isn’t is reading God’s Word. He has spoken to us through His Word, and all that He has spoken is true. When we read and memorize God’s Word, we learn more and more about God.

Take some time today to thank God for revealing Himself to us through His Word, and for illuminating our lives with His truth.

*TOPIC:*
BUILDING A GODLY FAMILY.

*THE MESSAGE:*
The command in our text leaves no space for conditions. God desires that the man should leave his parents and cleave to his wife. This is what builds oneness. To build a godly family, both husband and wife must shift their grounds and pitch their tents on biblical principles. The husband must always be willing to show grace to his wife by accommodating her into his life and helping her to grow. Couples must not listen to or entertain any negative talk about themselves from anyone. They must cherish faithfulness and eschew the sin of adultery, homosexuality, bigamy, polygamy, and so on. They must do well to avoid anything that hinders their bonding and spiritual and moral growth. How is your family life? Evaluate!

ED.ii. 'I WILL GIVE YOU REST'

"Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." - Matthew 11:28

What a wonderful promise Jesus has given us here: 'I will give you rest.' As He has promised this, we are allowed to remind Him of His promise: 'Lord, You have promised this and I want to receive it.'

Come to Jesus

There is one condition to this promise. Jesus says: 'Come to Me. I will give you rest.' So, if you want to have peace and rest in your life, you have to come first to Jesus and then He will do what He said.

When your body is tired, you have to take a rest. When Jesus says: 'I will give you rest' this means rest for the soul. The heart of man is always restless and looking for love or affection, peace and tranquility. Some of you are in pain and sorrow because of circumstances in your life. Perhaps due to the loss of a partner. Jesus says: 'Come to Me today, for I will give you peace in that broken heart.' He wants to fill your life with His love. He will always be with you. He will never be unfaithful to you. You can count on Him. He is your best friend.

Every person has a conscience and sin causes restlessness in the heart. Fear comes in the heart just as with Adam and Eve. After they had sinned, they wanted to hide from God. You do not feel good when your conscience speaks. The soul is being tormented. The psalmist says: 'For I know my transgressions, and my sin is always before me' (Psalm 51:3). The sin continued to haunt him.

Dear reader, do you also have your sins as a bag of stones on your back? If that is the case, then Jesus says: 'Come to Me. I will give you rest.'

Heavenly Father, whose favor is life, whose lovingkindness is better than life, we thank You for all the blessings You have shown to us. Through another day, You have led us. Goodness and mercy have followed us all the way. We enter now into the quiet and rest of the evening, and Your banner over us is love. We hide in the shadow of Your wings.

We remember before You this evening all the interests of our home. We thank You for all that home means to us of love and shelter. Bless us in our family life, making it more and more like the heavenly life. Lord, You have been our dwelling place in all generations. Before the mountains were brought forth, or You had formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, You are God. A thousand years in Your sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night.

We are but creatures of a moment, dying and passing away. We are like the grass which in the morning flourishes and grows up, and in the evening is cut down and withers. We spend our years as a tale that is told. You have set our iniquities before You, our secret sins in the light of Your countenance.

So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom. Oh, satisfy us early with Your mercy, that we may rejoice and be glad all our days. Let the beauty of the Lord our God be upon us, and establish the work of our hands upon us. We ask all these things in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Quick to Hear. Slow to Speak. Slow to Anger.

James 1:19–20

“This you know, my beloved brethren. But everyone must be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger; for the anger of man does not achieve the righteousness of God.”

There is a kind of strength the world rarely celebrates.

It is the strength to listen when you want to interrupt.

The strength to remain quiet when you have something you could say.

The strength to control your emotions when someone has pushed every button you have.

The strength to respond like Christ when your flesh wants to react.

That is Christlike character.

James is not simply teaching good manners. He is teaching spiritual maturity. He gives us three powerful principles for developing the character of Christ.

1. QUICK TO HEAR

Before James tells us what to say, he tells us how to listen.

Proverbs 18:13 warns:

“He who answers a matter before he hears it, it is folly and shame to him.”

There is a difference between hearing someone's words and actually listening.

Sometimes while another person is speaking, we are already preparing our defense. We are not listening to understand. We are listening for an opportunity to respond.

But spiritual maturity says, Listen first.

Even more importantly, we must learn to listen to God before reacting to people.

Throughout Scripture, hearing carries the idea of responding obediently. God is not merely looking for people who hear His Word. He is looking for people whose lives are governed by what they hear.

Before reacting, ask:

“Lord, what does Your Word say about how I should respond?”

That one question could prevent many arguments, broken relationships, and regretful words.

2. SLOW TO SPEAK

James does not say, “Never speak.”

He says, “slow to speak.”

There is wisdom in allowing our words to pass through the filter of the Holy Spirit before they pass through our lips.

Proverbs 10:19 teaches that when words are multiplied, sin is not far away.

Jesus took our words seriously:

Matthew 12:36 says that people will give an account for every careless word.

That should cause every believer to consider the power of his speech.

Not everything that comes into your mind needs to come out of your mouth.

Not every accusation requires an immediate defense.

Not every social media post requires your response.

Not every disagreement needs to become an argument.

Sometimes spiritual maturity is demonstrated by what you refuse to say.

3. SLOW TO ANGER

Here James reaches the heart of the matter:

“For the anger of man does not achieve the righteousness of God.”

We can convince ourselves that our anger is justified.

“They deserved it.”

“They shouldn't have said that.”

“Somebody needed to straighten them out.”

But James gives us a different measurement.

The question isn't merely:

Was I justified in being angry?

The deeper question is:

Did my response produce the righteousness of God?

That changes everything.

Proverbs 16:32 says:

“He who is slow to anger is better than the mighty, and he who rules his spirit, than he who captures a city.”

God calls self-control strength.

The world often calls retaliation strength.

Scripture says the person who can govern his own spirit possesses a greater victory than the warrior who conquers a city.

This connects directly with Galatians 5:22–23. Patience, gentleness, and self-control are fruit produced by the Holy Spirit.

That means restraint is not weakness.

Restraint is strength under the government of the Holy Spirit.

Think about Jesus.

He possessed all authority, yet He did not use His power to defend His pride.

He was falsely accused.

Mocked.

Insulted.

Rejected.

Yet He remained completely submitted to the Father.

1 Peter 2:23 tells us:

“Who, when He was reviled, did not revile in return; when He suffered, He did not threaten, but committed Himself to Him who judges righteously.”

There is our example.

Jesus did not lack the power to retaliate.

He possessed the character not to.

CHARACTER IS REVEALED UNDER PRESSURE

Anyone can appear patient when nothing is irritating them.

Anyone can appear loving around people who agree with them.

Anyone can appear self-controlled when nothing is challenging them.

Pressure reveals what has been developing inside us.

This is why James' teaching is so important for the times in which we live.

We live in a culture of immediate reactions.

Someone posts something, react.

Someone disagrees, respond.

Someone insults us, retaliate.

Someone misunderstands us, defend ourselves immediately.

But the disciple of Jesus Christ is called to another way:

Quick to hear.
Slow to speak.
Slow to anger.

Listen before responding.

Pray before speaking.

Let Scripture govern your emotions.

Allow the Holy Spirit to rule your reactions.

Because sometimes the greatest evidence of spiritual maturity is not what you have the courage to say.

It is what you have the character to restrain.

Before responding today, ask yourself:

Have I listened?

Do these words need to be spoken?

Is my anger producing God's righteousness, or merely satisfying my flesh?

And perhaps the most important question:

Will my response look like Jesus?

Character is not developed only when we study the Word.

Character is developed when pressure gives us an opportunity to live the Word we have studied.

“He who is slow to anger is better than the mighty, and he who rules his spirit, than he who captures a city.”
Proverbs 16:32

Lord, develop the character of Christ in us. Teach us to listen before we answer, to measure our words before we speak, and to surrender our anger before it controls us. Holy Spirit, govern our thoughts, our mouths, and our emotions. May our responses reveal Jesus, especially when we are under pressure. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Quick to hear. Slow to speak. Slow to anger.

That isn't weakness.

That is Christlike strength.
