Departure from the Familiar
The LORD had said to Abram, “Leave your native country, your relatives, and your father's family, and go to the land that I will show you. Genesis 12:1 (NLT)
We cannot arrive at the place where destiny is waiting for us until we depart from the ‘familiar’. The familiar is like comfort zone that gives us a false sense of security. Where you are now is just a path or passage to your purpose, you must not turn it into a prison.
The familiar is what you are used to that may be using you up emotionally, mentally or spiritually. It is what you are conversant with that may be cancelling the new things ahead of you. The familiar is what you are boasting about that may be blinding you to newer and greater things that lie ahead. It could also be who you are with that may be blocking who you should be; a hindrance to your true destiny. If Abram could depart and had progress (Genesis 12:4), you too can today. This is your day.

Prayer: Everlasting Father, I pray for the courage of Abraham, who left his homeland without knowing where he was going, trusting completely in Your promise. Give me the strength of Joshua, reminding me to be strong and courageous, knowing that You are with me wherever I go. Go before me as You said You would to clear the path and watch over my coming and going, both now and forevermore in Jesus’ name.
