Good morning, brethren.

THE WORD FOR TODAY.
FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 11, 2O26.
"A NEW ATTITUDE"
'...Change the way you think...’ Romans 12:2 GWT
FOR THINGS to change for the better, you must ‘change the way you think.’ For example: a) View setbacks as detours, not dead ends. Winners don’t just face adversity; they embrace it, knowing it leads to future success. b) Tune out the critics and focus on doing your best. Anybody who accomplishes anything worthwhile has to overcome naysayers. c) When you’re afraid, praise God until your faith rebuilds. It may take a while, but praise and thanksgiving never fail, and they strengthen you to go on. d) When you fail, look for the lesson and remember all the times you’ve succeeded. Weed out self-doubt and replace it with scriptural self-talk. e) When you’re heading into battle, visualise yourself winning in God’s strength—with Him ‘…all things are possible’ (Matthew 19:26 NIV). f) Instead of focusing on the past and worrying about the future, focus on the now—that’s where your influence is greatest. Remember, God said, ‘…As your days, so shall your strength be’ (Deuteronomy 33:25 NKJV). g) Instead of complaining, work on identifying solutions, and more will come to you. h) When you’re distracted, focus on your breathing, take a walk and clear your mind, think on what you can control, and surrender the rest to God. i) When you’re lonely, remember the people who’ve helped you this far and who love and support you. j) When you’re fatigued, take time to rest—but never ever give up! Finish strong in everything you do. k) When you’re under pressure and under scrutiny, smile and have fun. You only live once. Life is short… so seize the moment!

*RECEIVE THE WORD, ENDURE THE SUFFERINGS*
*TEXT:*
I THESSALONIANS 2:13-16.
13 For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe.
14 For ye, brethren, became followers of the churches of God which in Judæa are in Christ Jesus: for ye also have suffered like things of your own countrymen, even as they have of the Jews:
15 Who both killed the Lord Jesus, and their own prophets, and have persecuted us; and they please not God, and are contrary to all men:
16 Forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they might be saved, to fill up their sins alway: for the wrath is come upon them to the uttermost.
*Timeless Truth:*_"Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution"_ (2 Timothy 3:12).
*INTRODUCTION*
The Christian life is not a promise of freedom from trials, but a call to receive God’s Word faithfully and endure suffering courageously. Apostle Paul commended the Thessalonian believers because they accepted the Gospel not merely as human information, but as the very Word of God. Their experience reminds us that genuine faith produces steadfastness even when obedience to Christ attracts opposition. As we receive the Word, we must also be prepared to endure suffering and oppositions for the sake of Christ and the Gospel.
*1. Correct Perception of the Word*
Your inner perception of the Word of God will determine your attitude towards it and consequently, will determine your altitude in life and ministry. The one who sees the Bible as one of those religious books will end up becoming merely, religious by following the letters of what it says. Those who see it as a book of wisdom will always see wisdom nuggets in it to feed the mind and nothing else. Those who see it as mere writings of deeply, devoted religious people will see it as the ideas of men to inculcate in order to nourish the religious mind. However, all those notions about the Bible will not have any meaningful and lasting effect until the reader and the believer see and accept it as the supernatural Book of God with the Word of God sent to the living man. The Bible does not just contain the Word of God, it is actually, the Word of God. The Thessalonians Christians received special commendations from Paul the apostle for their spiritual sensitivity and piety (1:6-10). They became *"ensamples to all that believe in Macedonia and Achaia"*. It was in this same Church that was given special revelations about the Rapture, the Second Coming of Christ and the coming reign of the Antichrist. The greater the respect and regard you give to the Word of God, the more God gives you His special revelations.
b. The Thessalonian Christians received the message preached to them *“not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God.”* Their spiritual progress began with the right perception of God’s Word. The Bible is not merely human philosophy, religious tradition or the opinion of a preacher; it is God’s authoritative revelation capable of transforming the lives of those who believe it. When the Word is received with faith, humility and obedience, it works effectively within the believer. It produces supernatural results and *"effectually worketh in you that believe"*. A wrong attitude towards the Scripture produces spiritual weakness, but a right attitude produces spiritual conviction, growth and holy living.
*Question*
Do I receive the Word of God as divine truth that must govern my life or merely as human advice to consider?
*2. Christ’s Pattern of Walk*
a. The Thessalonian Christians became *"followers of the churches of God which in Judaea are in Christ Jesus”* as they experienced similar sufferings from their own countrymen. The Church of God will never lack good examples to follow in Christ. In the worst scenario, Christians are to follow the examples of Jesus and walk like He walked on earth. *"For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps"* (1 Peter 2:21). Our mentor determines our manners. The right mentor to follow in the Christendom is the one that closely follows and walks like Christ. Apostle Paul said, *"follow me as I am a follower of Christ"*. We can always observe the life of Jesus in the Scriptures so that no sincere follower can be deceived.
b. Like Master, like disciples. If Jesus was hated and persecuted by the world because of the Word of God He stood for, true followers of Jesus and the Word of God will also face persecutions of different shades or form. Christian Persecution is a badge of true discipleship. Their willingness to endure persecution reflected the pattern already established by believers in Judea and, ultimately, by Christ Himself. Following Jesus does not always lead to comfort, popularity or acceptance; sometimes it leads through rejection, misunderstanding, sacrifice and suffering. Yet suffering for righteousness is not evidence that God has abandoned us. Rather, it can demonstrate that we are walking faithfully in the footsteps of Christ and His people.
*Question*
When following Christ becomes costly, do I remain faithful or withdraw because of opposition and suffering?
*3. Christians' Persecution in the World*
*"Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution"* (2 Timothy 3:12). Paul the apostle described the hostility directed against Christ, the prophets and the apostles, showing that opposition to God’s truth is not a new phenomenon. Those who reject the Gospel may attempt to hinder its proclamation and persecute those who faithfully proclaim it. The Christian must, therefore, distinguish between suffering because of righteousness and suffering caused by personal wrongdoing. The Gospel must continue to be proclaimed despite resistance because the salvation of souls is at stake. Believers should respond to persecution with endurance, prayer, love and unwavering commitment to the truth rather than hatred or revenge. For those who specialize in persecuting the truth and resisting the salvation of others directly or indirectly, *"the wrath (of God) is come upon them to the uttermost"*.
*Question*
What are the modern ways you face persecutions in your profession or ministry?
Are you prepared to endure opposition or suffer loss faithfully when standing for Christ and His Gospel?
*Prayer Points*
1.Lord, give me grace to receive Your Word with faith, humility and complete obedience .
2.Father, help me to follow Christ’s pattern faithfully, even when obedience becomes difficult or costly .
3.Father, make me steadfast in the Gospel and use my life and testimony to bring others to salvation .
4.Lord, strengthen every believer facing persecution and give us courage to endure suffering for righteousness .

*Cathy Miller, owner of Tasteries Bakery in Bakersfield, California, refused to make wedding cakes for a lesbian couple due to her Christian beliefs. The California Department of Fair Housing and Employment sued Miller, claiming it was discrimination under the _Civil Rights Act._ A judge ruled in Miller's favour, allowing her to deny the service based on her religious beliefs. This ruling has significant implications for religious freedom and discrimination laws.*
*Long before contemporary persecutions of Christians, the early church endured significant hardships as the gospel spread to regions governed by oppressive rulers. In Thessalonica, new believers faced intense persecution, much harsher than what might be encountered today. When Paul preached there, the message resonated with the people as divinely inspired. He encouraged them to seek strength from the churches in Judea, which had been suffering similar trials at the hands of their own countrymen, who had previously persecuted Jesus and the prophets.*
*The church is currently facing significant challenges due to increasing persecution for adhering to traditional biblical values and standards. In numerous countries, those who uphold these beliefs are labelled as fundamentalists and haters, while actions deemed sinful according to the Bible are gaining recognition as human rights. This climate of intolerance has led to military chaplains being pressured to conduct homosexual marriages, public school teachers being terminated for refusing to promote diversity, doctors being censored for refusing to perform abortions on demand, and the potential loss of accreditation for Christian institutions that do not support LGBT. Furthermore, there are reports of pastors in many nations being arrested for preaching biblical teachings on homosexuality.*
*So, we are headed for increasing persecution if we faithfully hold to what the Bible teaches about these moral issues. The question is, "Will you persevere and hold on to the Bible teachings on all issues, like the Thessalonians? Or will you capitulate and bow to the present godless culture to avoid persecution?" The choice is undeniably yours.*

Fruits are good and desirable, especially the ones that are sweet and juicy. In agriculture, we have two groups of fruits. The edible fruits and the inedible fruits. The inedible fruits are useless and would always be thrown away because they can damage our system if we eat them.
On the other hand, the edible fruits provide nutrients that help the body grow well. It is the same in the spiritual - we have two groups of fruits, namely: the Fruits (works) of the flesh, and the Fruit of the Spirit.
The fruits of the flesh, which are mainly sinful habits, pollute and damage the soul. You must reject all the works of the flesh and put on the fruit of the Spirit through faith in the blood of Jesus.
*When you repent and turn away from sin, your life will be renewed through cleansing by the blood of Jesus. Then your life will start to bring forth the fruit of the Spirit as shown in our Bible passage.*
*Love - Joy - Peace - Longsuffering - Gentleness - Goodness - Faith - Meekness - Temperance. They are nine items but one root binding them together. All of these virtues must be present in you. Your life will not remain the same.*

2. Morning Prayer for today.
MP.i. Morning Prayer
I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called, ⏤ Ephesians 4:1
Prayer is not overcoming God’s reluctance, but laying hold of His willingness. ⏤ Martin Luther
O Jesus, You have called us with a holy calling. We desire to be worthy of the honor You have bestowed upon us. You have redeemed us by Your blood. You have taken us into fellowship with Yourself. You are not ashamed to call us brethren. You have made us heirs of God, joint heirs with You. You have given us eternal life!
Make us indeed worthy of this exalted honor. Cleanse and purify us, that we may be like You in spirit, disposition, and character. Give us the same desires that are in Your heart, that we may hate what You hate and love what You love. May we be partakers in Your work for the upbuilding of Your cause and the extension of Your kingdom.
Give us this day the same mind that was in You. You left Your heavenly glory and became human, that You might be our Redeemer. You lived to serve, giving out Your life in unsparing service, even dying in love for Your people. We desire to have the same spirit. Save us from all selfishness, which would lead us to withhold ourselves from serving others with the best that is in us. Save us from all pride, which would lead us to think of ourselves more highly than we ought to think, and may we always be clothed with humility. Lead us into Your ways of service.
Lord Jesus, help us to live this day as You would live if You were here in our place. May we be holy, harmless, undefiled, and separate from sinners. May we be kind in all our family relationships and with those outside. Help us to be diligent in all our business. May we live unspotted from the world. Bless us in all ways in Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

```Key Verse:``` _*"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law" (Galatians 5:22, 23).*_
Fruits are good and desirable, especially the ones that are sweet and juicy. In agriculture, we have two groups of fruits. The edible fruits and the inedible fruits. The inedible fruits are useless and would always be thrown away because they can damage our system if we eat them.
On the other hand, the edible fruits provide nutrients that help the body grow well. It is the same in the spiritual - we have two groups of fruits, namely: the Fruits (works) of the flesh, and the Fruit of the Spirit.
The fruits of the flesh, which are mainly sinful habits, pollute and damage the soul. You must reject all the works of the flesh and put on the fruit of the Spirit through faith in the blood of Jesus.
*When you repent and turn away from sin, your life will be renewed through cleansing by the blood of Jesus. Then your life will start to bring forth the fruit of the Spirit as shown in our Bible passage.*
*Love - Joy - Peace - Longsuffering - Gentleness - Goodness - Faith - Meekness - Temperance. They are nine items but one root binding them together. All of these virtues must be present in you. Your life will not remain the same.*
2. Morning Prayer for today.
MP.i. Morning Prayer
I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called, ⏤ Ephesians 4:1
Prayer is not overcoming God’s reluctance, but laying hold of His willingness. ⏤ Martin Luther
O Jesus, You have called us with a holy calling. We desire to be worthy of the honor You have bestowed upon us. You have redeemed us by Your blood. You have taken us into fellowship with Yourself. You are not ashamed to call us brethren. You have made us heirs of God, joint heirs with You. You have given us eternal life!
Make us indeed worthy of this exalted honor. Cleanse and purify us, that we may be like You in spirit, disposition, and character. Give us the same desires that are in Your heart, that we may hate what You hate and love what You love. May we be partakers in Your work for the upbuilding of Your cause and the extension of Your kingdom.
Give us this day the same mind that was in You. You left Your heavenly glory and became human, that You might be our Redeemer. You lived to serve, giving out Your life in unsparing service, even dying in love for Your people. We desire to have the same spirit. Save us from all selfishness, which would lead us to withhold ourselves from serving others with the best that is in us. Save us from all pride, which would lead us to think of ourselves more highly than we ought to think, and may we always be clothed with humility. Lead us into Your ways of service.
Lord Jesus, help us to live this day as You would live if You were here in our place. May we be holy, harmless, undefiled, and separate from sinners. May we be kind in all our family relationships and with those outside. Help us to be diligent in all our business. May we live unspotted from the world. Bless us in all ways in Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Good morning, brethren.
MD.i. 😀🌹🎀🎁💝🌺MORNING TEA
THE WORD FOR TODAY.
FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 11, 2O26.
"A NEW ATTITUDE"
'...Change the way you think...’ Romans 12:2 GWT
FOR THINGS to change for the better, you must ‘change the way you think.’ For example: a) View setbacks as detours, not dead ends. Winners don’t just face adversity; they embrace it, knowing it leads to future success. b) Tune out the critics and focus on doing your best. Anybody who accomplishes anything worthwhile has to overcome naysayers. c) When you’re afraid, praise God until your faith rebuilds. It may take a while, but praise and thanksgiving never fail, and they strengthen you to go on. d) When you fail, look for the lesson and remember all the times you’ve succeeded. Weed out self-doubt and replace it with scriptural self-talk. e) When you’re heading into battle, visualise yourself winning in God’s strength—with Him ‘…all things are possible’ (Matthew 19:26 NIV). f) Instead of focusing on the past and worrying about the future, focus on the now—that’s where your influence is greatest. Remember, God said, ‘…As your days, so shall your strength be’ (Deuteronomy 33:25 NKJV). g) Instead of complaining, work on identifying solutions, and more will come to you. h) When you’re distracted, focus on your breathing, take a walk and clear your mind, think on what you can control, and surrender the rest to God. i) When you’re lonely, remember the people who’ve helped you this far and who love and support you. j) When you’re fatigued, take time to rest—but never ever give up! Finish strong in everything you do. k) When you’re under pressure and under scrutiny, smile and have fun. You only live once. Life is short… so seize the moment!
*RECEIVE THE WORD, ENDURE THE SUFFERINGS*
*TEXT:*
I THESSALONIANS 2:13-16.
13 For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe.
14 For ye, brethren, became followers of the churches of God which in Judæa are in Christ Jesus: for ye also have suffered like things of your own countrymen, even as they have of the Jews:
15 Who both killed the Lord Jesus, and their own prophets, and have persecuted us; and they please not God, and are contrary to all men:
16 Forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they might be saved, to fill up their sins alway: for the wrath is come upon them to the uttermost.
*Timeless Truth:*_"Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution"_ (2 Timothy 3:12).
*INTRODUCTION*
The Christian life is not a promise of freedom from trials, but a call to receive God’s Word faithfully and endure suffering courageously. Apostle Paul commended the Thessalonian believers because they accepted the Gospel not merely as human information, but as the very Word of God. Their experience reminds us that genuine faith produces steadfastness even when obedience to Christ attracts opposition. As we receive the Word, we must also be prepared to endure suffering and oppositions for the sake of Christ and the Gospel.
*1. Correct Perception of the Word*
Your inner perception of the Word of God will determine your attitude towards it and consequently, will determine your altitude in life and ministry. The one who sees the Bible as one of those religious books will end up becoming merely, religious by following the letters of what it says. Those who see it as a book of wisdom will always see wisdom nuggets in it to feed the mind and nothing else. Those who see it as mere writings of deeply, devoted religious people will see it as the ideas of men to inculcate in order to nourish the religious mind. However, all those notions about the Bible will not have any meaningful and lasting effect until the reader and the believer see and accept it as the supernatural Book of God with the Word of God sent to the living man. The Bible does not just contain the Word of God, it is actually, the Word of God. The Thessalonians Christians received special commendations from Paul the apostle for their spiritual sensitivity and piety (1:6-10). They became *"ensamples to all that believe in Macedonia and Achaia"*. It was in this same Church that was given special revelations about the Rapture, the Second Coming of Christ and the coming reign of the Antichrist. The greater the respect and regard you give to the Word of God, the more God gives you His special revelations.
b. The Thessalonian Christians received the message preached to them *“not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God.”* Their spiritual progress began with the right perception of God’s Word. The Bible is not merely human philosophy, religious tradition or the opinion of a preacher; it is God’s authoritative revelation capable of transforming the lives of those who believe it. When the Word is received with faith, humility and obedience, it works effectively within the believer. It produces supernatural results and *"effectually worketh in you that believe"*. A wrong attitude towards the Scripture produces spiritual weakness, but a right attitude produces spiritual conviction, growth and holy living.
*Question*
Do I receive the Word of God as divine truth that must govern my life or merely as human advice to consider?
*2. Christ’s Pattern of Walk*
a. The Thessalonian Christians became *"followers of the churches of God which in Judaea are in Christ Jesus”* as they experienced similar sufferings from their own countrymen. The Church of God will never lack good examples to follow in Christ. In the worst scenario, Christians are to follow the examples of Jesus and walk like He walked on earth. *"For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps"* (1 Peter 2:21). Our mentor determines our manners. The right mentor to follow in the Christendom is the one that closely follows and walks like Christ. Apostle Paul said, *"follow me as I am a follower of Christ"*. We can always observe the life of Jesus in the Scriptures so that no sincere follower can be deceived.
b. Like Master, like disciples. If Jesus was hated and persecuted by the world because of the Word of God He stood for, true followers of Jesus and the Word of God will also face persecutions of different shades or form. Christian Persecution is a badge of true discipleship. Their willingness to endure persecution reflected the pattern already established by believers in Judea and, ultimately, by Christ Himself. Following Jesus does not always lead to comfort, popularity or acceptance; sometimes it leads through rejection, misunderstanding, sacrifice and suffering. Yet suffering for righteousness is not evidence that God has abandoned us. Rather, it can demonstrate that we are walking faithfully in the footsteps of Christ and His people.
*Question*
When following Christ becomes costly, do I remain faithful or withdraw because of opposition and suffering?
*3. Christians' Persecution in the World*
*"Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution"* (2 Timothy 3:12). Paul the apostle described the hostility directed against Christ, the prophets and the apostles, showing that opposition to God’s truth is not a new phenomenon. Those who reject the Gospel may attempt to hinder its proclamation and persecute those who faithfully proclaim it. The Christian must, therefore, distinguish between suffering because of righteousness and suffering caused by personal wrongdoing. The Gospel must continue to be proclaimed despite resistance because the salvation of souls is at stake. Believers should respond to persecution with endurance, prayer, love and unwavering commitment to the truth rather than hatred or revenge. For those who specialize in persecuting the truth and resisting the salvation of others directly or indirectly, *"the wrath (of God) is come upon them to the uttermost"*.
*Question*
What are the modern ways you face persecutions in your profession or ministry?
Are you prepared to endure opposition or suffer loss faithfully when standing for Christ and His Gospel?
*Prayer Points*
1.Lord, give me grace to receive Your Word with faith, humility and complete obedience 🙏.
2.Father, help me to follow Christ’s pattern faithfully, even when obedience becomes difficult or costly 🙏.
3.Father, make me steadfast in the Gospel and use my life and testimony to bring others to salvation 🙏.
4.Lord, strengthen every believer facing persecution and give us courage to endure suffering for righteousness 🙏.
*Cathy Miller, owner of Tasteries Bakery in Bakersfield, California, refused to make wedding cakes for a lesbian couple due to her Christian beliefs. The California Department of Fair Housing and Employment sued Miller, claiming it was discrimination under the _Civil Rights Act._ A judge ruled in Miller's favour, allowing her to deny the service based on her religious beliefs. This ruling has significant implications for religious freedom and discrimination laws.*
*Long before contemporary persecutions of Christians, the early church endured significant hardships as the gospel spread to regions governed by oppressive rulers. In Thessalonica, new believers faced intense persecution, much harsher than what might be encountered today. When Paul preached there, the message resonated with the people as divinely inspired. He encouraged them to seek strength from the churches in Judea, which had been suffering similar trials at the hands of their own countrymen, who had previously persecuted Jesus and the prophets.*
*The church is currently facing significant challenges due to increasing persecution for adhering to traditional biblical values and standards. In numerous countries, those who uphold these beliefs are labelled as fundamentalists and haters, while actions deemed sinful according to the Bible are gaining recognition as human rights. This climate of intolerance has led to military chaplains being pressured to conduct homosexual marriages, public school teachers being terminated for refusing to promote diversity, doctors being censored for refusing to perform abortions on demand, and the potential loss of accreditation for Christian institutions that do not support LGBT. Furthermore, there are reports of pastors in many nations being arrested for preaching biblical teachings on homosexuality.*
*So, we are headed for increasing persecution if we faithfully hold to what the Bible teaches about these moral issues. The question is, "Will you persevere and hold on to the Bible teachings on all issues, like the Thessalonians? Or will you capitulate and bow to the present godless culture to avoid persecution?" The choice is undeniably yours.*
