Good morning, brethren. 1. Morning devotion for today. MD.i. 😀🎀💝🎁🌺🌹MORNING TEA THE WORD FOR TODAY. SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 12, 2O26. "WHEN CONFLICT COMES HOME (1)" '...Let there be no strife between you and me...’ Genesis 13:8 NAS THE CONFLICT between Abram and Lot teaches us important principles about our families. Lot had lived peacefully in his Uncle Abram’s home. Abram had taken him along on the journey of faith, when suddenly conflict arose. And because conflict reveals character, Lot showed his true colours. Since their growing herds were too big to share the same pastures, Abram suggested they split the land between them, offering Lot first choice. Lot ‘…chose for himself…’ (Genesis 13:11 NAS) the best land, leaving the rest to his uncle. Lot moved to rich, sinful Sodom; Abram built an altar to the Lord. Same genes—totally different values! So: 1) Consider the facts. Abram was God’s appointed leader and Israel’s primary patriarch. God had promised him a homeland, fatherhood of a great nation, blessing and protection. And above all these, God promised that in him, ‘…All the families of the earth will be blessed!’ (Genesis 12:3 NAS). In practical, day-to-day terms, Abram was the senior partner and major stockholder in the family business. He had shown love and generosity to his nephew, and in the crunch, valued their relationship over personal interests. Abram, therefore, deserved consideration and deference from his nephew. But Lot never gave it to him. 2) Consider the point. For the family’s sake, Abram chose not to ‘pull rank,’ or ‘insist on his rights,’ or ‘show who’s boss.’ He proved that God alone vindicates us! We shouldn’t even attempt to vindicate ourselves. Abram chose grace over law, humility over pride, self-denial over ‘rights,’ mercy over justice, love over lust, and character over popular opinion. [11/09, 8:07 pm] Pastor Attah: *MEDITATIONS ON DAILY ⓂANNA* SATURDAY, 12TH SEPTEMBER, 2026. *SOBERING REFLECTIONS ON HUMAN LIFE* *TEXT:* JOB 34:20-22.  20.In a moment shall they die, and the people shall be troubled at midnight, and pass away: and the mighty shall be taken away without hand. 21 For his eyes are upon the ways of man, and he seeth all his goings. 22 There is no darkness, nor shadow of death, where the workers of iniquity may hide themselves. *Timeless Truth:*_"For his eyes are upon the ways of man, and he seeth all his goings"_ (Job 34:21). *INTRODUCTION* Most people who will die tomorrow, except those told by their Physician, would not believe and accept their time to vacate this planet earth has come. The following song captures this reality of imminent death. "Some will die tomorrow As many have today, This life is so uncertain we can see, Someone the call will answer, We know not who it will be, Maybe it's you and then Maybe it's me". The question is "Who will be the next to face eternity?" Human life on earth is brief, uncertain and constantly exposed to the sovereignty of God. Job 34:20–22 reminds us that no human being, regardless of strength, status, wealth or achievement, can escape the limitations of earthly existence or the searching eyes of God. These verses call us to live wisely, soberly and in readiness for eternity. Since our earthly journey is temporary and our deeds are fully known to God, we must make every moment count for Him. *1. The Brevity of the Soul on Earth* a. *"In a moment shall they die, and the people shall be troubled at midnight, and pass away: and the mighty shall be taken away without hand.”* The passage presents the uncertainty and brevity of human life. Death does not always announce its arrival; sometimes it comes suddenly, at a moment when people least expect it. Many die, "after a brief illness" while some die without any visible sickness. The mighty may appear secure because of their position, possessions, influence or accomplishments, yet none can prevent the appointed end of earthly life. Scripture therefore, declares, *“Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour”* (James 4:14). Psalm 90:12 urges us, *“So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.”* The brevity of life should not produce fear in the believer, but should awaken seriousness, gratitude, holy living and readiness for eternity. b. Children die just like adults too. Humans die, like animals die though they have different destinations after death. The most important question is, where will you spend eternity? *Question* If your earthly life is so brief and uncertain, are you using your remaining days wisely for God and eternity? *2. The Beaming Searchlight from Eternity* a. God is not a man. He is the Father of eternity. He does not sleep and neither does he get engaged in what to eat or drink. He has the whole time for Himself. What does He use His time to do? The text gives us one. *"For his eyes are upon the ways of man, and he seeth all his goings.”* God sees all the thoughts, activities and actions of every person as if the person is the only one on earth and as if God has no other business to do. His eyes that were described as *"flames of fire"* (Revelation 1:14) sees all things. He weighs all our thoughts, motives and actions in the balance of truth and holiness. *"By him all actions are weighed"* (1 Samuel 1:2). God, *"is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart"*. Nothing and nobody is hidden from Him. b. God sees every step of every person. Nothing about our lives is hidden from His searching eyes. He sees our public actions and our private decisions, our words and thoughts, our obedience and our disobedience. Hebrews 4:13 declares, *“Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight.”* The awareness that God watches our lives should encourage the righteous and challenge the careless. We may hide things from people, but we cannot hide them from God. His divine searchlight reaches every corner of our lives, reminding us that earthly existence is lived under eternal accountability. *Question* If God sees all your ways, what changes will you make today in your thoughts, choices, relationships and conduct? *3. The Belittling Sinners’ Exhibition* a. Sinners will be condemned to eternal shame and contempt. All humans that ever lived will witness the judgment of every sinner and all hidden and unconfessed sins will be exposed to all to see. No sinner can circumvent it except through repentance. *“There is no darkness, nor shadow of death, where the workers of iniquity may hide themselves.”* Sin may be disguised before people, but it can never be concealed from God. Sinners sometimes imagine that secrecy provides safety, but divine omniscience exposes every hidden work. b. Numbers 32:23 warns, *“.....Be sure your sin will find you out.”* Ecclesiastes 12:14 likewise declares that God will bring every work into judgment, including hidden things. Human beings may applaud appearances, but eternity will reveal reality. Therefore, the wise person abandons secret sin, seeks God's mercy and walks transparently before Him. The proper response to God's searching knowledge is not hypocrisy, but repentance and holy living. *Question* Is there any hidden sin or secret practice in your life that you need to surrender to God today? *Prayer Points* 1.Lord, teach me to number my days and to live each day with eternity in view 🙏. 2.Father, help me to use my brief earthly life for Your glory and the advancement of Your kingdom 🙏. 3.Lord, let Your searching light expose and remove every hidden sin and ungodly habit in my life before it is too late 🙏. 4.Father, prepare us all to meet You in eternity and help each of the brethren to finish well in faith, holiness and obedience 🙏. *HYMN:* Where will you spend eternity? *BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:* NUMBERS 8-10. It didn't work - he died at 82.* *Man may propose, but God makes the ultimate decision. Nothing exists in perpetuity. Elihu, one of the three argumentative friends of Job, made the remark about the brevity of life. His narrative about man's attempt to control others oppressively wasn't exactly applicable to Job, who was a righteous man, by God's own confession. His statement, nonetheless, is a clear fact about the futility of man's attempt to remain in the spotlight forever. Elihu expanded his remarks by honouring the supremacy of God, who sees the ways of men and retains the divine ability to superintend over our affairs. God possesses the unique ability to bring an end to the regime of proud dictators, who wish to oppress their subjects forever.* *This chapter offers significant insights for leaders who maintain a proud demeanour in their interactions. Reflecting on the downfalls of historical dictators serves as a crucial reminder for contemporary leaders. While the advice from Job's friends may not have alleviated his suffering, their observations on the fleeting nature of life and the eventual consequences of wickedness provide valuable lessons that can inform our own lives and decisions.* *The dialogue surrounding Job reveals several profound lessons. It emphasises that God is just and will reward everyone based on their deeds, regardless of status. Additionally, it reflects on the fleeting nature of life, urging humility and repentance to seek God's mercy. The text advocates against oppression and encourages living a life that, when death comes, even the undertakers will feel sorry.
