THE PILGRIMS GUIDE MONDAY SEPTEMBER 14, 2026 WISDOM FOR GOD'S PURPOSE A WORD FROM THE WORD: "Your servant is here among the people you have chosen, ....... give your servant a discerning heart to govern your people and to distinguish between right and wrong. For who is able to govern this great people of yours?” 1 Kings 3:8-9 NIV. As humans, the natural default setting of our attitude is selfishness. And so sometimes, even in our Christian life we tend to be and exhibit selfishness, all we care about is what will benefit us personally. This is a major reason we need divine wisdom for God's purpose. King Solomon recognised his need, and asked of the LORD for divine wisdom to discern right from wrong, not for his selfish gain but to benefit the people of God, his people, Israel. As Christians let's be careful and know when we are praying selfish prayers, or going for those things that will benefit us personally. The Holy Spirit admonishes us in the Scripture through Paul the apostle, 'Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too.' Philippians 2:3-4 NLT. PRAYER BULLETS: ABBA Father, thank You for the inspiration through Your word to me today to be selfless in my service to You and relationships with others. I receive increased grace and wisdom to impact others with the investment of what You have made me to become, to Your glory.
