Good morning, brethren.

1. Morning devotion for today.

MD.i. MORNING TEA
THE WORD FOR TODAY. TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 15, 2O26.
"BEFORE YOU BUILD(1)"

โ€˜You must buildโ€ฆaccording to the pattern I will show you.โ€™ Exodus 25:9 NLT

GO TO God for the plan. God told Moses: โ€˜You must build this tabernacle and its furnishings exactly according to the pattern I will show you.โ€™ God knows what you will need in the future, you donโ€™t. He prepared Noah a hundred years in advance of the flood. He prepared Joseph to feed Egypt seven years in advance of the famine. Without Godโ€™s guidance the best youโ€™ll ever have are estimates, educated guesswork and projections. โ€˜To the Israelites at the foot of the mountain, the glory of the Lord appeared at the summit like a consuming fire. Then Moses disappeared into the cloud as he climbed higher up the mountain. He remained on the mountain forty days and forty nightsโ€™ (Exodus 24:17-18 NLT). Moses spent over a month waiting in Godโ€™s presence for direction. Why? Because what he was building had to meet the needs of Godโ€™s people for generations. So go to the place of prayer. Tell those around you, โ€˜Iโ€™m not coming back until I hear from God and get His plan!โ€™ When God orders it, He pays for it. But when He doesnโ€™t give the order, and you decide to do it anyway, youโ€™re on your own! Why? Because you wonโ€™t have confidence to go to Him in your time of need. Unless you start right, you wonโ€™t finish right. You say, โ€˜But Iโ€™m nobody special. Why would God speak to someone like me?โ€™ If God has called you, and He has, then youโ€™re special. His promise is, โ€˜If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask Godโ€ฆand it will be given to himโ€™ (James 1:5 NIV).

*NEW NATURE AND A WORTHY WALK* ๐Ÿซต๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿฝโ€๐Ÿฝโ€๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿฝโ€๐Ÿฝ

```TEXT:EPHESIANS 4:1-3```
```KEY VERSE:``` _*"I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called" (EPHESIANS 4:1).*_

*During the reign of King Karl XI in Sweden, there was an attempt to domesticate moose as an alternative to horses for use in cavalry. The king sought a more formidable presence to intimidate enemy forces. However, it became evident that moose were too dangerous to manage, prone to disease, and had specific dietary needs that were challenging to meet. Additionally, their intelligence posed a logistical issue, as they would avoid areas where other moose had died, complicating their deployment in warfare.*

*The saying "a cassock cannot make a priest" emphasises the difference between outward appearance and true inward value. A cassock, often worn by clergy, does not automatically confer priesthood on the wearer. This further explains the difficulty in attempting to use the moose in battle instead of the horse. Paul described himself as a prisoner of the Lord. He had the option of living a free life like others, but he chose to invest his life in serving the Master despite the risks. He enjoined Ephesian believers to walk worthy of their vocation, emphasising the importance of bearing the right fruit and living in unity with the brethren. He emphasised the beauty of living the new life in Christ, in unity with the brethren, with all lowliness, meekness and longsuffering.*

*It all begins with the process leading to the salvation experience. A penitent seeker begins by sensing the need for salvation in the heart, follows that up with genuine repentance and confession of sin, and places his faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, accepting Him as Saviour and Lord. The absence of this foundation has produced the so-called believers, who lack the grace to live righteously in the present evil world. It has also given occasion for people to doubt the claims of Christians, a situation worsened by the appearance of many false ministers whose character and practices are at variance with the gospel.*

*You need to observe the following: Do not open up to people who claim to be servants of God until you see proof of their calling and Christian character. It is also not safe to lay hands suddenly on anyone who claims to have a call, without first verifying them. Furthermore, we need to recognise that conversion is necessary, so we don't put forward the moose instead of a horse.*

*Many conditions in life cause sadness and sorrow. At such times, one may be confused or even feel devastated. Such conditions may be failure, lack, bereavement, rejection, loneliness or terminal illness, as was the case of Hezekiah in our study today. However, "Earth has no sorrow that heaven cannot heal," said Thomas Moore.*

*When Isaac lost his mother, Sarah, he must have been heartbroken. However, he and his father, Abraham, turned the situation over to God, and God provided a wife for Isaac at the age of forty. The Bible states that he loved her, "and Isaac was comforted after his mother's death" (Genesis 24:67).*

*No matter the situation in your life, turn it over to God. You cannot cope alone, yet worrying and thinking will not solve your problems. Beloved, are you or a loved one sick, and the medical bills are piling up, or are you having a problem paying your school fees? Do not fret. A rich man wanted to show his son how poor someone can be without Christ. He took him on a trip to a village. After they had spent time on the farm of a poor family, he asked his son, *"What did you learn?"*

His son replied, *"We have one dog, they have four; we buy foods, they grow theirs; we have walls to protect us, they have friends; we have encyclopedias, they have Bible".* What a great lesson!

Most children derive pleasure in extra home lessons, birthday parties and television shows than studying God's Word or attending Church Programmes. Some lack the ability to memorize God's word.

They rather know cartoon characters, music artists, and memorizing worldly songs. While others take pride in the big houses and cars their parents own.

*The life of every child is empty without Christ. Earthly riches will vanish over time. True riches lie in God's Word. Therefore, give yourself to studying the word and memorizing it. Let the word dwell in you, therein lies your riches in Christ Jesus.*

2. Morning Prayer for today.

MP.i. Streams in the Desert

Scent of The Rose

Blow upon my garden that the spices may flow out - Song 4:16

Some of the spices mentioned in this chapter are quite suggestive. The aloe was a bitter spice, and it tells of the sweetness of bitter things, the bitter-sweet, which has its own fine application that only those can understand who have felt it. The myrrh was used to embalm the dead, and it tells of death to something. It is the sweetness which comes to the heart after it has died to its self-will and pride and sin.

Oh, the inexpressible charm that hovers about some Christians simply because they bear upon the chastened countenance and mellow spirit the impress of the cross, the holy evidence of having died to something that was once proud and strong, but is now forever at the feet of Jesus. It is the heavenly charm of a broken spirit and a contrite heart, the music that springs from the minor key, the sweetness that comes from the touch of the frost upon the ripened fruit.

And then the frankincense was a fragrance that came from the touch of the fire. It was the burning powder that rose in clouds of sweetness from the bosom of the flames. It tells of the heart whose sweetness has been called forth, perhaps by the flames of affliction, until the holy place of the soul is filled with clouds of praise and prayer. Beloved, are we giving out the spices, the perfumes, the sweet odors of the heart? โ€”The Love-Life of Our Lord.

โ€œA Persian fable says: One day
A wanderer found a lump of clay
So redolent of sweet perfume
Its odors scented all the room.
โ€˜What are thou? was his quick demand,
โ€˜Art thou some gem from Samarcand,
Or spikenard in this rude disguise,
Or other costly merchandise?โ€™
โ€˜Nay: I am but a lump of clay.โ€™

โ€œโ€˜Then whence this wondrous perfumeโ€”say!โ€™
โ€˜Friend, if the secret I disclose,
I have been dwelling with the rose.โ€™
Sweet parable! and will not those
โ€˜Who love to dwell with Sharonโ€™s rose,
Distil sweet odors all around,
Though low and mean themselves are found?
Dear Lord, abide with us that we
May draw our perfume fresh from Thee.โ€
