PURITY OF LIFE
A WORD FROM THE WORD:
"And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise." Philippians 4:8 NLT.
From our anchor Scripture, Paul the apostle, by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit is admonishing us, as God's children to think (and of course act) on the virtues that ruminates on purity, excellence, moral rectitude among others. To live the life of righteousness that is in alignment with the ideals of both spiritual and moral chastity, a commitment to the ethics and principles of right standing and living with God.
Today(as always), we're seeing a light from the inspired Writ on the possibility of the flesh experiencing righteousness.
A key foundation to overcoming the flesh is purity of life, this is a precondition for right living and it is among other things the practice of refraining from sexual impurity, to be innocent, uncorrupted, unblemished, spotless and faithful.
There is an alarming multiplication of iniquities in the world today, and the Church is often not spared the offensive onslaughts of the Devil, therefore, there's every need, as a believer in Christ Jesus to be focused and determined not to be a casualty.
The value of purity of life is beyond money or material things. It is not an obligation but a command from God for all ages. 'For the purpose of God for you is this: that you may be holy, and may keep yourselves from the desires of the flesh;' (1 Thessalonians 4:3 BBE).
Purity of life is the standard of the Gospel, and as a child of God, you must not allow any interaction or relationship with anyone to degenerate to any aspect of immorality. The thirst for sanctification in your life as a child of God often indicates a strong desire to overcome the flesh, and only those who have truly conquered the flesh are fit and can be used of God.
Purity of life is a big challenge among the Christians today, however, those who keep this divine command and standards shall be preserved for great use by Heaven in the real sense of divine service.
PRAYER BULLETS:
LORD Jesus, I have seen how vulnerable I could be without the help of Your Spirit. Incubate me, O LORD with the Spirit of Purity that I might be purified and be encouragement to others.
