THE PILGRIMS GUIDE WEDNESDAY MAY 14, 2025 BEWARE OF DOGS 3  A WORD FROM THE WORD: "Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the mutilation!" Philippians 3:2 NKJV. Finally, the third and final sub-topic, “Beware of the mutilation.” Mutilation is another word for circumcision, which was a cultural and religious sign the Jews embraced as a witness to their possession by God. Here, Paul the apostle, by the Holy Spirit's inspiration is warning us not to be taken in by those who put so much importance on the outward appearance of their faith. The religious duties we perform, like going to church, the LORD's Supper, and even baptism, mean nothing if our hearts are not right with God, yes, it is true. True believers are changed on the inside first, then the outside. As we mature in our faith and make commitments to the LORD, we should also heed Paul the apostle's inspired admonition to make sure our commitment is on the inside to God, before we make it on the outside to family, friends and others. The Bible is replete with many more admonitions and instructions. The greater your knowledge of these become, the wiser your decisions will become as well. I encourage you to take advantage of these inspired admonitions, and you'll be the best for it.
