THE PILGRIMS GUIDE THURSDAY MAY 29, 2025 LOVING RIGHTEOUSNESS A WORD FROM THE WORD: "You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness......" (Hebrews 1:9). To love righteousness, one must first endeavour to understand what righteousness is. Loving righteousness is not about dovetailing others in their understanding and definition of it or doing what the people around us tells us is important, but giving God the honour to define loving righteousness for us through His word. Let us consider the following verse: "And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect." (Romans 12:2 NKJV). To love righteousness genuinely and in all sincerity, we must trust God's commandments and do our best possible to follow and live by them. Loving righteousness means obeying God’s commandments ahead of our own feelings. King Solomon, by the Holy Spirit's inspiration admonishes us here, "There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death." (Proverbs 14:12. NKJV) Putting it quite simply, loving righteousness means obeying God’s commandments. Our LORD Jesus is saying to us: "If you love me, you will keep my commandments." (John 14:15 ESV). PRAYER BULLETS: Father LORD, grant me the enablement to truly love righteousness. I want to lovingly keep Your commandments, help me LORD.
