  • Daily Devotion — August 8 | Acts 16:14 (NKJV)

    When God Opens the Heart

Acts 16 introduces Lydia, a successful businesswoman from Thyatira who gathered with others by the riverside to worship God. As Paul shared the gospel, the Lord opened Lydia's heart to receive the message. Her response was one of genuine faith, and she became one of the first believers in Philippi, welcoming Paul and his companions into her home.

This verse beautifully illustrates that salvation is the work of God. While believers faithfully proclaim the gospel, it is the Lord who opens hearts to receive His truth. Lydia listened attentively because God was working within her, leading her to place her faith in Jesus Christ.

For believers today, this passage reminds us to pray for God to prepare hearts whenever we share His Word. It also encourages us to keep our own hearts open to His voice, allowing Him to shape our lives through Scripture and the work of the Holy Spirit.

    Reflection Questions

    1. Is my heart open to God's Word each day?

    2. Who can I pray for to come to know Christ?

    3. How has God changed my life through His truth?

    Prayer

Lord God, thank You for opening hearts to receive Your truth. Keep my heart tender and teachable, and use me to faithfully share the gospel with others. Prepare those who hear Your Word, and may many come to know Jesus as Savior. In Jesus name Amen.

    Practical Application

    ● Begin each Bible reading by asking God to teach you.

    ● Pray for someone who needs to hear the gospel.

    ● Be ready to share what God has done in your life.

    Takeaway Thought

When God opens our hearts, His Word transforms our lives forever.

  • A WAKE UP CALL TO A TIME SUCH AS THIS

    The earth is shaking.
    Volcanoes are erupting.
    Storms are intensifying.
    Nations are raging.
    Governments are in conflict.
    Economies are uncertain.
    Truth is being challenged.
    Morality is being redefined.
    Marriages are breaking.
    Families are deteriorating.
    Hearts are growing colder.
People are searching for answers in a world that feels increasingly unstable.

God is shaking things to expose what is temporary, what doesn't last, to reveal that which is eternal, that which what matters most - God, His Word and the souls of men.

Men and women of God. Have done with lesser things.

Pray. Fight our battles on our knees.

Let us repent of our ways that are displeasing and dishonoring to our God. Walk in His forgiveness and on the path of righteousness.

Put God first. Nurture and safeguard your marriage. If not, infidelity will destroy it.

Raise your children in the way of the Lord. Do not just hand them an electronic device. Spend time with them. They are not interruptions they are assignments from the Lord. Remember, children spell love as T-I-M-E.

Church, the gospel of Jesus Christ is still the power of God unto salvation for those who believe in Him. Do not be ashamed of it. Proclaim it. Speak of it. Many are just waiting to be told.

Know this: Global powers come and go, kingdoms rise and fall, but God's kingdom remains forever.

All the shaking we see right now isn't to paralyze us in fear - it’s a wake up call!

Let's make sure we aren't building our lives on things that can be stolen, fade away, and burn, but on the One who is from everlasting to everlasting - Jesus Christ, the soon and coming King!

  • We all have our own personal preference when it comes to sharing the gospel with others (young - adult).

You may be comfortable speaking directly about the good work Christ has done in your life.

Or you may prefer to let your actions speak louder than words, hesitant to speak prematurely into the life of an unbeliever.

Whatever your style, we are all called to take the gospel to the ends of the earth . And one way God equips us to do this is through our strengths He provides!

  • A year Scripture verse of mine, that speaks about God's assurance and a promise for His people (Israel) and so are you (those who believe).

52:12 - The words "Before and Rear Guard" are allusions to the pillar of cloud and fire that protected Israel in it's flight from Egypt (42:16; 49:10; 58:8; Ex.13:21 - 22; 14:19 - 20). "The LORD... the God of Israel" means the pillar of cloud and fire actually stood for the Lord Himself (Ex.33:9 - 11).

God will be in front of you, behind you. So God's glorious leading and protection from the rear. 🏽

    Kumusta ka? (How are you?)

A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones. Proverbs 17:22

    Two points:
    1. Cheerful heart.
    2. Crushed spirit.

Both have distinctions, and It also reminds us to encourage and build each other up,
    [1 Thess.5:11].

So basically, we choose to be cheerful because that is a good medicine.

Grateful to the ONE who provided everything! 🏽🏽

The team and I extended our gratitude to those who prayed for the DVBS (Daily Vacation Bible School) from June 2 to 5! Especially for those who extend their support by feeding the volunteers and kids.

And for those who didn't know the VBS theme: a theme is "Treasure Hunt: Seeking the Richest of Christ" following with the Theme verse that is found in Jeremiah 29:13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.

  • Daily Devotion — June 1 | Mark 13:33 (NKJV)

    Living with Spiritual Alertness

As Jesus spoke to His disciples in Mark 13, He was teaching them about future events and the importance of being prepared for His return. In the midst of these teachings, He gave a simple but powerful command: “Take heed, watch and pray.” Jesus knew that His followers would face many distractions, challenges, and uncertainties. Rather than becoming fearful or careless, they were called to remain spiritually alert and dependent on God.

The command to “take heed” means to pay attention and be careful about how we live. Believers are not called to drift through life without purpose. We are to keep our hearts focused on God, guarding ourselves against spiritual complacency and worldly distractions that can slowly pull us away from Him.

Jesus also instructed His followers to watch. This watchfulness is not about living in fear but about living with expectation. We remember that God is at work, His promises are true, and His timing is perfect. Because we do not know exactly when certain events will unfold, we are encouraged to live faithfully every day.

Prayer is the third part of Jesus’ instruction. Through prayer, we remain connected to God, receive His guidance, and find strength for daily living. A prayerful life helps us stay sensitive to the Holy Spirit and prepared for whatever lies ahead.

For believers today, this verse is a reminder to stay close to God, remain faithful in our walk, and live each day with spiritual readiness. The Lord desires hearts that are attentive, watchful, and dependent upon Him. Following the devotional pattern reflected in the provided example, we see that God calls His people to faithful obedience and trust each day.

    Reflection Questions

    1. Are there distractions that are weakening my spiritual alertness?

    2. How can I develop a more consistent prayer life?

    3. Am I living each day with a growing expectation of God's work and faithfulness?

    Prayer

Lord God, thank You for reminding me to stay watchful and prayerful. Help me to remain spiritually alert and faithful in my walk with You. Guard my heart from distractions and teach me to depend on You daily. Strengthen my faith as I wait on Your perfect timing. In Jesus name, Amen.

    Practical Application

    - Set aside a specific time each day for prayer and Bible reading.

    - Examine your life for distractions that hinder your relationship with God.

    - Practice living each day with faithfulness, knowing that God’s timing is always perfect.

    Takeaway Thought

A watchful and prayerful heart is always ready to follow God’s leading.

Oh, Your mercy never failed me
And all my days, I've been held in Your hands
From the moment that I wake up
    Until I lay my head
Oh, I will sing of the goodness of God
All my life You have been faithful
All my life You have been so, so good
With every breath that I am able
Oh, I will sing of the goodness of God
    I love Your voice
You have led me through the fire
In darkest night You are close like no other
I've known You as a Father
I've known You as a Friend
Oh, I have lived in the goodness of God, oh-oh-oh

  • Not every gathering that mentions God is truly godly.

Sometimes, what is called “fellowship” slowly becomes a conversation filled with rumors, criticism, and unnecessary discussions about other people’s lives.

As believers, we are called to edify, encourage, restore, and pray for one another — not to entertain ourselves with someone else’s failures, struggles, or issues.

Be careful when “concern” becomes curiosity.
Be careful when “sharing” becomes exposing.
And be careful when the tongue that worships God on Sunday becomes the same tongue that tears people down after service.

A Christ-centered fellowship should leave people encouraged, not embarrassed. Convicted, not humiliated. Restored, not destroyed.

Before speaking about someone, ask yourself:
“Would I still say this if they were in front of me?”

    Choose prayer over gossip.
    Choose grace over rumors.
    Choose edification over entertainment.

    Ephesians 4:29 KJV
“Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.”

    Proverbs 11:13 KJV
“A talebearer revealeth secrets: but he that is of a faithful spirit concealeth the matter.”

May the Lord JESUS CHRIST Find us Faithful!
