  • Acts 28:

"1 And when they were escaped, then they knew that the island was called Melita.
2 And the barbarous people shewed us no little kindness: for they kindled a fire, and received us every one, because of the present rain, and because of the cold.
3 And when Paul had gathered a bundle of sticks, and laid them on the fire, there came a viper out of the heat, and fastened on his hand.
4 And when the barbarians saw the venomous beast hang on his hand, they said among themselves, No doubt this man is a murderer, whom, though he hath escaped the sea, yet vengeance suffereth not to live.
5 And he shook off the beast into the fire, and felt no harm.
6 Howbeit they looked when he should have swollen, or fallen down dead suddenly: but after they had looked a great while, and saw no harm come to him, they changed their minds, and said that he was a god.
7 In the same quarters were possessions of the chief man of the island, whose name was Publius; who received us, and lodged us three days courteously.
8 And it came to pass, that the father of Publius lay sick of a fever and of a bloody flux: to whom Paul entered in, and prayed, and laid his hands on him, and healed him.
9 So when this was done, others also, which had diseases in the island, came, and were healed:
10 Who also honoured us with many honours; and when we departed, they laded us with such things as were necessary.
11 And after three months we departed in a ship of Alexandria, which had wintered in the isle, whose sign was Castor and Pollux.
12 And landing at Syracuse, we tarried there three days.
13 And from thence we fetched a compass, and came to Rhegium: and after one day the south wind blew, and we came the next day to Puteoli:
14 Where we found brethren, and were desired to tarry with them seven days: and so we went toward Rome.
15 And from thence, when the brethren heard of us, they came to meet us as far as Appii forum, and The three taverns: whom when Paul saw, he thanked God, and took courage.
16 And when we came to Rome, the centurion delivered the prisoners to the captain of the guard: but Paul was suffered to dwell by himself with a soldier that kept him.
17 And it came to pass, that after three days Paul called the chief of the Jews together: and when they were come together, he said unto them, Men and brethren, though I have committed nothing against the people, or customs of our fathers, yet was I delivered prisoner from Jerusalem into the hands of the Romans.
18 Who, when they had examined me, would have let me go, because there was no cause of death in me.
19 But when the Jews spake against it, I was constrained to appeal unto Caesar; not that I had ought to accuse my nation of.
20 For this cause therefore have I called for you, to see you, and to speak with you: because that for the hope of Israel I am bound with this chain.
21 And they said unto him, We neither received letters out of Judaea concerning thee, neither any of the brethren that came shewed or spake any harm of thee.
22 But we desire to hear of thee what thou thinkest: for as concerning this sect, we know that every where it is spoken against.
23 And when they had appointed him a day, there came many to him into his lodging; to whom he expounded and testified the kingdom of God, persuading them concerning Jesus, both out of the law of Moses, and out of the prophets, from morning till evening.
24 And some believed the things which were spoken, and some believed not.
25 And when they agreed not among themselves, they departed, after that Paul had spoken one word, Well spake the Holy Ghost by Esaias the prophet unto our fathers,
26 Saying, Go unto this people, and say, Hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and not perceive:
27 For the heart of this people is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes have they closed; lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.
28 Be it known therefore unto you, that the salvation of God is sent unto the Gentiles, and that they will hear it.
29 And when he had said these words, the Jews departed, and had great reasoning among themselves.
30 And Paul dwelt two whole years in his own hired house, and received all that came in unto him,
31 Preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ, with all confidence, no man forbidding him."
Acts 28: "1 And when they were escaped, then they knew that the island was called Melita. 9 So when this was done, others also, which had diseases in the island, came, and were healed: 10 Who also honoured us with many honours; and when we departed, they laded us with such things as were necessary. 11 And after three months we departed in a ship of Alexandria, which had wintered in the isle, whose sign was Castor and Pollux. 12 And landing at Syracuse, we tarried there three days. 13 And from thence we fetched a compass, and came to Rhegium: and after one day the south wind blew, and we came the next day to Puteoli: 14 Where we found brethren, and were desired to tarry with them seven days: and so we went toward Rome. 25 And when they agreed not among themselves, they departed, after that Paul had spoken one word, Well spake the Holy Ghost by Esaias the prophet unto our fathers, 26 Saying, Go unto this people, and say, Hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and not perceive: 27 For the heart of this people is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes have they closed; lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them. 28 Be it known therefore unto you, that the salvation of God is sent unto the Gentiles, and that they will hear it. 29 And when he had said these words, the Jews departed, and had great reasoning among themselves. 30 And Paul dwelt two whole years in his own hired house, and received all that came in unto him, 31 Preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ, with all confidence, no man forbidding him."

The Father Who Provides

    Verse:
โ€œYour heavenly Father knows that you need them.โ€
Matthew 6:32

    Meditation:
Your Father knows your needs even before you speak them.
You are not forgotten, and your life is not outside His care.
Sometimes He provides immediately; sometimes He teaches you to trust Him while you wait.
His provision may come through unexpected people, opportunities, wisdom, or strength.
Do not measure His love by what you have todayโ€”His care is greater than your present circumstances.
When the Father is your Provider, you can face tomorrow without being controlled by fear.

    Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for knowing and caring for every need in my life. Help me trust Your provision and timing. In Jesusโ€™ name, Amen.

    Declaration:
โ€œMy Father knows my needs, and I trust Him to provide according to His wisdom.โ€

Some tasks feel important because people notice them. Others seem so ordinary that we wonder whether they matter at all. We answer emails, clean rooms, finish assignments, serve quietly, raise families, and fulfill responsibilities that may never receive applause. Yet Scripture gives ordinary work eternal weight. The question is not whether our task looks significant—but whether we are doing it for Christ.

The command reaches beyond church ministry into every legitimate responsibility God has placed before us. Whether our work is public or hidden, celebrated or unnoticed, Christ is the true Master we serve.

A craftsman may spend hours working on something nobody will ever see inside a finished building. Yet he works carefully because he knows what he is building matters. So it should be with us. Heaven sees what earth overlooks. The unseen task, the ordinary duty, and the quiet responsibility can all become worship when they are done faithfully before the Lord.

    Scripture teaches and reminds us that our labor matters to God. We do not work for applause; we work for approval from above. Our workplace, home, church, and daily responsibilities can become places where Christ is honored.

The audience of our work is ultimately not man—it is God. Don’t work like a mouse that only moves when the cat is away. We are not called to perform when people are watching and relax when they are gone. The task may be ordinary, the audience may be small, and the reward may be unseen—but the Lord sees every faithful hand.

    Before Christ called us to work, He worked for us. The risen Lord now sends us as His servants, not to chase recognition, but to glorify Him in all we do.

Are you treating your ordinary responsibilities as interruptions or as opportunities to glorify Christ? What task have you been doing reluctantly because nobody seems to notice? You don't need Christ merely to make your work successful—you need Him to make your work worship. Whatever your hands find to do, do it for Him. The task may be ordinary, but the One we serve is not.

๐๐ซ๐š๐ฒ๐ž๐ซ: Heavenly Father, thank You for giving meaning even to the ordinary work You place before us. Forgive us for seeking human recognition or despising unnoticed tasks. Teach us to work faithfully, joyfully, and wholeheartedly, remembering that we serve Christ above all. May everything we do bring glory to Your name. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Remember, a dose of God’s Word a day will keep you going all day!

_____________________________________________________ All scripture references were taken from the KJV Bible. • I just now joined the platform. My wife Patsy and I recently moved from Paragould, AR to North Port, FL. While in Paragould, we pastored a local church until this January when we turned the pastorship over to our associate pastor. This was in preparation for our move to Florida.

Patsy and I were both widowed. I after 50 years of marriage to my late wife, she after 43 years of marriage to her late husband. But God allowed us to meet, fall in love, and now we have been married eight years.

God has done wonderful things in our married life. We have been involved in ministry within the widowed community while we were living in Texas (before our move to Arkansas), ministry to not only young couples newly married or soon to be married, but couples going through troubles within their marriage.

A big part of our ministry while in Arkansas was to the faith based addiction recovery community. Now that we are in Florida, we know God has a work for us here. We're just waiting on His leading.

We are both retired. She from many years working in an administrative role with the Salvation Army, and I after a long career in the medical electronics industry. We enjoy travel, ministry activities, and I am now a published novelist.

  • *Praising Adonai From Dawn to Dusk*

Close your eyes for a moment. And while you do that, picture this wonderfully diverse planet we call home. (Yes, really.)

Everything that you just imaginedโ€”God created all of it. And God created all of us to worship Him.

From north to south and east to west. From bustling cities to slow-paced villages. From lifeless deserts to life-packed forests. From the highest mountains to the farthest oceans.
*โ€œFrom the rising of the sun to the place where it sets, the Name of the Lord is to be praised!โ€ Psalm 113:3*
The sun โ€œrisesโ€ and โ€œsetsโ€ on all of us. All people, all languages, all nations. All skin colors, eye colors, and hair colors. All shapes, sizes, and personalities. Rich and poor. Aching hearts and contagious smiles.

An eclectic mix of people from various parts of the world have been praising God from generation to generationโ€”and it continues to happen now. And we know it will never stop.

In *Revelation 7*, John has a vision of a โ€œgreat multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people, and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb,โ€ who is Christ. They are serving and worshiping, all day and night.

    Godโ€™s peopleโ€”past, present, and futureโ€”are a worshiping people.ย

We can worship with our songs.
We can worship with our money.
We can worship with our lives.

And one day, when we finally see things clearly, every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. But today, we donโ€™t have to wait to worship.

When sunlight streams through our windows, we can worship.
When the evening sky turns orange-ish pink, we can worship.
When weโ€™re in a season of waiting, we can worship.
When weโ€™re in a season of receiving, we can worship.
When our heart is empty and breaking, we can worship.
When our heart is full, we can worship.

*From dawn to dusk, let the Name of the Lord be praised.*

Today, let's begin to think about this verse and consider what compels us to worship God. Then, shift our hearts toward Him and donโ€™t forget to worship Him that sit enthroned upon the circle of the earth.. The One that lives forever.

    *Praising God For His Goodness*
Father God, You are good and Your Mercy endures forever. No matter what goes on around usโ€”You are always good. You are worthy of our praises because You are God in eternity past, present and future. You provide for us, strengthen us, deliver us, heal us and redeemed our souls. Even when we donโ€™t see You at work in our lives, that doesnโ€™t change the fact that You are working. There is no one like You. So regardless of what we face today, we will praise You forever! In Jesusโ€™ Mighty Name, Amen.
