Everyone is given an amount of faith to start with, like a seed - "Abba Father has assigned to each one of us a measure of faith." (Romans 12:3 TPT). It's our personal bit of trust in God, tailored just for us. Sometimes, though, we need a bigger boost of faith for the tough times or big challenges. That's where the gift of faith comes in. It's like a supercharged belief, that helps us trust in the Father and Hid Word, for the really big stuff - "To another faith by the same Spirit..."
