    LESSON:
    Matthew 7:16-20

As a matter of fact, today's message is a self reflection, that's why it's topic is:

    TOPIC:
WHAT KIND OF CHRISTIAN AM I?

    TEXT:
You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles?
    Matthew 7:16–20 (NKJV)

    INTRODUCTION:
It is easy to ask, β€œWhat kind of church do I attend?” or β€œWhat kind of Christians are around me?” But today, God is asking a more personal question:
What kind of Christian am I?
Christianity is more than attending church, carrying a Bible, singing worship songs, or being known as a believer. Jesus wants our faith to be visible in the way we live, speak, love, forgive, serve and represent Him.
The real test of Christianity is not simply what we profess with our lips, but what our lives produce.
Be immensely blessed by the word in Jesus name.

    EXPOSITION:
With a sincere mind, let's examine and consider these 3 basic important points.

    1. WHAT KIND OF FRUIT IS MY LIFE PRODUCING?
    Matthew 7:16–20; Galatians 5:22–23; John 15:4–5
Jesus said, β€œYou will know them by their fruits.”
Notice that Jesus did not say people would be known merely by their appearance, religious vocabulary, church position or spiritual title. He said they would be known by their fruit. Fruit is evidence of what is happening inside a tree. In the same way, our daily conduct reveals what is happening in our hearts.

A Christian may speak about love, but how do I treat people who offend me? I may talk about forgiveness, but can I forgive those who hurt me? I may preach holiness, but what happens when nobody is watching? I may say that I trust God, but what happens when I face disappointment? These are the moments when our fruit becomes visible.
Galatians 5:22–23 describes the fruit of the Spirit as love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.

This gives us something practical to examine.
Is there love in me? Is there patience in me?
Is there self-control in me? Can people see Christ in the way I respond under pressure?
Because sometimes, the greatest testimony we preach is not from the pulpit. It is through our behaviour when life does not go according to our expectations. Jesus also said in John 15:5, β€œHe who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit.”

Fruitfulness is therefore connected to our relationship with Christ. We cannot consistently produce Christlike character while living far from Christ. The question is not whether we once produced good fruit. The question is: What is my life producing now?

    EXPOSITION:
    2. AM I A LIGHT THAT LEADS PEOPLE TO CHRIST OR A STUMBLING BLOCK?
    Matthew 5:14–16; Romans 14:13; 1 Peter 2:12
Jesus said, β€œYou are the light of the world.”
That means our Christianity is not supposed to remain inside the church building. People are watching us.
Our neighbours are watching. Our colleagues are watching. Our family members are watching. Young people are watching. Even people who disagree with Christianity are watching.

Sometimes, before they read the Bible, they read our lives. This is why we must ask ourselves a difficult question: Does my lifestyle make people desire to know Jesus, or does it give them another reason to reject Him? A Christian can become a stumbling block through bitterness, dishonesty, hypocrisy, arrogance, unforgiveness, gossip, immoral behaviour or an abusive attitude. Imagine telling someone that Jesus changes lives, while that person consistently sees anger, hatred and dishonesty in our own life.
    What message are we communicating?

Romans 14:13 tells believers not to put a stumbling block or a cause to fall in another believer’s way.
This does not mean that we live our lives based on people's opinions. It means we recognize that Christian freedom carries Christian responsibility.
Our lives should make the Gospel attractive, not contradictory. Jesus said in Matthew 5:16:
β€œLet your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”

The purpose of our light is not to make people admire us. It is to make them glorify God. So, when people encounter me, what do they encounter? Christ or character problems? Grace or hostility? Truth or hypocrisy? Love or bitterness? We cannot preach the Gospel effectively with our mouths while preaching a different gospel with our lifestyle.

    EXPOSITION:
    3. AM I OBEYING CHRIST OR AM I ONLY PRACTISING RELIGION?
    John 14:15; James 1:22–25; Matthew 28:19–20
Jesus said plainly: β€œIf you love Me, keep My commandments.” That means genuine Christianity must eventually produce obedience. It is possible to become very familiar with church activities while becoming unfamiliar with obedience to Christ.
We can attend services, participate in programmes, sing loudly, pray publicly and even hold positions in church, yet still ignore the simple commands of Jesus.

Jesus commanded us to love one another.
    He commanded us to forgive.
    He commanded us to serve.
He commanded us to make disciples.
He commanded us to preach the Gospel.
He commanded us to live as lights in a dark world.
    The question therefore becomes:
Am I doing what Jesus asked me to do?

James 1:22 warns us not to be merely hearers of the Word, but doers. Hearing God's Word without obeying it can create the illusion of spiritual maturity.
Knowledge is not the same as obedience.
Knowing that we should forgive is not forgiveness.
Knowing that we should evangelize is not evangelism.
Knowing that we should love is not love.
Knowing that we should live holy is not holiness.
At some point, the Word we hear must become the life we live. And this includes the Great Commission.

Jesus said in Matthew 28:19–20, β€œGo therefore and make disciples of all the nations.” Every Christian may not stand behind a pulpit, but every Christian has a responsibility to represent Christ. There is somebody around us who needs encouragement.
Somebody needs to hear the Gospel.
    Somebody needs to see forgiveness.
Somebody needs to see genuine Christian love.
Somebody may be watching our life and wondering whether Jesus is truly real.

So the question is not merely:
β€œAm I a Christian?” The deeper question is:
β€œWhat kind of Christian am I?”
Am I a Christian by name, or by transformation?
Am I only a church member, or am I a disciple of Jesus? Am I carrying the name of Christ while refusing to carry His character?
This brings us to the conclusion of the message.

    CONCLUSION:
Today, the mirror is before us.
    Not before our neighbour.
    Not before another church member.
    Not before society. Before me.
What kind of Christian am I?
May our Christianity be more than words, titles and religious activities. May our lives produce good fruit, shine as lights, and demonstrate obedience to Christ.
Let people encounter us and see something that points them back to Jesus.

    CLOSING PRAYER:
    Let us pray!
Lord Jesus, make us genuine representatives of Your kingdom. Let our lives produce good fruit, let our character reflect You, and let our actions never become a stumbling block to others. Help us to love, forgive, serve and obey You faithfully. May our lives point people to Christ. In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.

    GOODWILL MESSAGE:
This is my goodwill message for you this week:
May your life become a living testimony of the transforming power of Jesus Christ. May your words carry grace, your character reveal Christ, and your actions draw others closer to God. May your faith remain fruitful, your light continue to shine, and your life bring glory to your Father in heaven. Amen.

    HAPPY WONDERFUL SUNDAY,
    HAVE AN AMAZING WEEK.

    2. I eat my own feces.

    4. I am a garbage disposal on four legs.

    5. I have one of the poorest digestive systems known to man.

    6. I have no sweat glands (like the Camel) and so I maintain every drop of toxic poison in my flesh, and it is passed on to you.

    7. I eat poisonous snakes and they bite me but cannot hurt me as their venom goes straight to my fat cells.

    8. I am raised in a cage in modern processing plants which stresses me out and makes me crazy.

    9. I chew on the bars of my cages until my face is a bloody mess.

    10. I hope you know the parasites and worms in my flesh are so strong that it's nearly impossible to kill all of them while cooking me to eat.

    11. I have next to nothing left in the way of nourishment for you by the time you're done cooking me to "recommended temperature." You might as well eat the sole of your shoe.

  • Good morning, brethren.
    Morning devotion for today.

    MD.i. MORNING TEA
    THE WORD FOR TODAY
    TUESDAY AUGUST 11, 2O26.
    "WORKING IN THE KINGDOM (2)"

β€˜To those who use well what they are given, even more will be given...’ Matthew 25:29 NLT

YOUR VALUE in a job is determined by the value you add to the job. When a Christian goes to work each day, God holds them accountable for adding, enhancing and improving things in their workplace. Jesus told the story of three men who were each given money. One was given five bags of it, another two, and another one. The first two β€˜β€¦went and traded with them, and gained…’ (Matthew 25:16 NAS). They showed skill, initiative, and made 100 percent profit. So they were commended by their master. But the third man just punched the clock, called in sick, didn’t train, try, dare, or do. So his job review didn’t go too well. And Jesus said something that ought to make us all sit up and take notice: β€˜To those who use well what they are given, even more will be given, and they will have an abundance. But from those who do nothing, even what little they have will be taken away.’ That means if your attitude and work ethic are poor, you’re in trouble with God. So, let’s stop and think about your job. If Jesus were your supervisor, would you do your work any differently? How would you answer the phone, type documents, treat your employees, or teach your pupils if Jesus were checking your work? As a citizen of God’s kingdom you need to periodically review your attitude on the job, solicit feedback on how you can grow, demonstrate love and grace to those you work with, make your company profitable, and enjoy the work you do.

    ```TEXT:HOSEA 6:1-3```
    ```KEY VERSE:``` _*"Come, and let us return unto the LORD: for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up" (HOSEA 6:1).*_

*In 1949, a remarkable spiritual revival swept through the Scottish Hebrides Islands, known today as the Hebrides Revival. At that time, churches were nearly empty, and the younger generation had grown indifferent to the faith. Two elderly women, Peggy and Christine Smith, deeply burdened by the spiritual decline, began fervent prayer for God to awaken their community to righteousness. Their prayers were anchored in repentance and a return to the Lord. Soon, other believers joined them in prayer. One night, a young man leading the prayer meeting read from Psalm 24:3, 4: "Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD? Or who shall stand in his holy place? He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart..." He cried out, "Is my heart clean? Are my hands pure?" That honest moment of repentance sparked a spiritual breakthrough, and soon people across the island began confessing their sins, turning back to God, and experiencing profound spiritual healing.*

*In our text, the prophet calls God's people to repentance. The passage begins with a heartfelt plea for repentance and return to the Lord. It reflects Israel's realisation that they had strayed from God and were suffering the consequences of their rebellion. Yet, despite their waywardness, God desired to restore and revive them if they genuinely repented. The promises of being "revived after two days" and "restored on the third day" symbolised God's readiness to bring spiritual renewal to those who returned to Him.*

*Christians today have important lessons to learn. True healing, whether it is healing from guilt, broken relationships, spiritual dryness or backsliding, begins with repentance. It is not just about feeling remorse but about acknowledging your sins, seeking God's forgiveness, and making a decisive turn toward Him.*

*In our modern world, temptations and sin often pull people away from God. But just as the Hebrides Revival demonstrated, God responds powerfully to repentance. When believers humble themselves and call upon God for themselves or others, He is faithful to heal, restore, and pour out His blessings. For those who need healing today, they should return to the Lord, so He can bind up their wounds and revive their spirit.*

Hundreds of years before Jesus was born, Prophet Isaiah spoke about what He would do. He said He would be a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. This was exactly what Jesus did when He was on earth. He is loving and compassionate.

Our Bible passage shows one aspect of the nature of Christ. Getting to the house of His friends whose brother had died, Jesus, moved with compassion wept openly. It was the highest show of love from God to His creature.

Jesus is teaching us here that weeping is not a sign of weakness. It is a way to identify with those who are hurting. At the end, Jesus raised Lazarus from death.

    *TEXT:* HOSEA 6:1-3.

1Come, and let us return unto theΒ LORD: for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up.
2Β After two days will he revive us: in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight.
3Β Then shall we know, if we follow on to know theΒ LORD: his going forth is prepared as the morning; and he shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth.

*Timeless Truth:*_"Then shall we know, if we follow on to know theΒ LORD: his going forth is prepared as the morning; and he shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth"_ (Hosea 6:3).

    *INTRODUCTION*

"Return, "Revival", "Refresh" and "Restoration" are some of the words used in Biblical and Christian circles that show that something good and precious have been lost or missing and appropriate efforts should be made to get those things back. All these show man's deliberate responsibilities in order to keep the blessings of God for a long time . In 1948, a released christian newsletter during the time of revivalist Abraham Branham reads. β€œAll the great outpourings of the past have had their outstanding truths. Luther’s truth was Justification by Faith. Wesley’s was Sanctification. The Baptists taught the premillennial coming of Christ. The Missionary Alliance taught Divine Healing. The Pentecostal outpouring has restored the Baptism of the Holy Ghost to its rightful place. But, the next great outpouring is going to be marked by all these other truths plus such a demonstration of the nine gifts of the Spirit as the world, not even the Apostolic world, has ever witnessed before. This revival will be short and will be the last before the Rapture of the Church.” The consolation and joy is that whatever great and wonderful experiences we have enjoyed in the past can still be restored by God if man does the needful. This is the message of Hosea to Israel and the godly.

*1. Call to Return to God*

    a. Adam, representing the man of all ages, started with God, but departed from God and many woes followed. In order to vacate the woes, the message of God is simple, return to God. All the woes, challenges, calamities, anguish, backslidings and challenges of man have only one divine prescription: Return to God. Returning to God requires turning or change. Man is generally, reluctant to change. This is one of Newton's Laws of Motion. Willingness to turn is generally, where the problem of man lies. The turning to God requires acceptance of wrongs towards God, decisions with appropriate steps and asking God for forgiveness without self justification. It involves deliberate action of repentance. Repentance from what cause the loss of good old blessings, including repentance from sin, unforgiving spirit, bitterness against neighbours and perhaps God, love of the world, selective obedience to the command of God in any area etc., are just what God is looking for before He pours down His blessings afresh. God did not see that turning or repentance in Adam and Eve. Both of them were busy giving excuses and blaming each other. Neither fully admitted his/her obvious wrong and neither fully repented and returned to God. The repercussion was that they never got the blessing they lost back. They were driven from the beautiful, blessed and blissful garden. If they had returned to God with words of soberness and repentance, the story would have been different for them and the whole humanity. All lost blessings from God are only returned after turning and repentance from the root cause.
    b. The message of God is the same. *"Come, and let us return unto theΒ LORD"*. Stop the blame game. Stop the murmuring and complain. The promise of God for the repentant is valid at all times and in all generations. *"For he hath torn, and he will heal us"*. When your garment of glory is torn, when your shining regalia of blessings is torn, when the source of your joy is torn, the immediate and uncompromisable demand of God and solution is to turn to God. *"He hath smitten, and he will bind us up"*. This is a word of assurance for those who take the courage to turn from their evil ways, carelessness and compromise.

    *Question*

Assess your life where you have departed from God and your old consecration to God and His word. Are you willing to turn? Start today.

    *2. Comforting Revival Through Grace*

    a. Has Israel not gone too far to an irredeemable damnable and bitter experience? God, through Hosea says NO. When there is possibility and willingness to turn, the promise to restore and revive is always unbreakable. Jesus said, *"the scripture cannot be broken."* Hosea used the picture of Calvary and the resurrection of Jesus on the third day to show the reality and restoration of revival for dead bones. *"After two days will he revive us"*. After two days is the third day including all other days after the third day. It shows the beginning of revival on the third day and the continuity of revival after the third day. *"In the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight"*. The resurrection of Jesus Christ has assurably made possible the restoration of any dead soul and experiences even when it appears they are already stinking spiritually in the grave.
    b. The parable of dead bones in Ezekiel 37 shows that revival and restoration is possible when the Word of God is given a prominent and final say in the life of an individual, family, church or nation. All the revivals the Church has experienced in different ages at a time of total darkness were as a result of giving the Word of God the first and unquestionably place. The same applies to any individual that needs revival. Taking the Word of God at face values drives to repentance including burdened and persistent prayers. Once this is done, the rain will definitely fall and there will be repentance and restoration.

    *Question*

Are you desirous of revival and restoration of past glories in your life? From the explanation above, what is your decision?

    *3. Continuous Refreshment unto Glory*

    a. Why blessings are lost and revival is gone is because of lack of continuity in the Old faith and consecration that brought the revival in the first place. Jesus said, *"If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples in deed"*. Disciples in deeds are different from disciples in the mouth to profession. Continuity is the key. *"Then shall we know, if we follow on to know theΒ LORD"*. Continuous following leads to deeper knowledge and deeper knowledge is manifested by continuous following. *"His going forth is prepared as the morning; and he shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth"*. The former rain is to prepare the ground for planting while the latter rain is to prepare the crop for harvesting. It is the harvesting that is generally seen, but not the planting time of rigour and sacrifice. He that sows, though not seen by many should sow in hope because harvesting is certain. Rain of the Holy Spirit is needed to sow the seed of repentance, intercession and consecration while rain of the Holy Spirit is also needed to enjoy the harvest of refreshment, restoration and revival. Continuity in sowing the seed of the Word of God and wetting it with tears of prayers and acts of consecration will bring the abundant rain and there will be overflowing joy, revival and restoration again.

    *Question*

Are you determined to continue getting deeper into the Word, prayer and consecration without giving up until the rain falls and there are blessings and visitations from heaven again?

    *Prayer Points*

1.Lord, open my eyes to areas that I need to turn to you afresh and make me willing to pay the price of turning .
2.Give me the rain of the Spirit that will help me to sow with tears and deeper consecration until the abundant rain falls on my soul, nation and church .
3.I ask for power and determination to continue seeking your face without giving up and backing out .
4.Father, send the rain and awaken your Church to true restoration and revival .

    *HYMN:* Come Holy Spirit.

*BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:* JOB 9-12.

    2. Morning Prayer fir today.

    MP.i. Morning Prayer

For we have not a high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as [we are, yet] without sin. ⏀ Hebrews 4:15

He is never nearer than when we are tempted. ⏀ E.M. Bounds

O Jesus, we thank You for living this human life with us, knowing all about our experiences. You became a man. You were tempted in every way, just as we are, and understand what temptation is like. It comforts us to know that You understand our struggles and that we can rely on Your sympathy. Help us today, O Jesus, to overcome every temptation. Stand by us and do not let us fall into darkness in any moment of trial.

We are also grateful that You know all about sorrow. You have experienced every depth of human pain. There is no sorrow unknown to You, no grief that You cannot understand. Life brings us sorrows, sometimes very deep ones. No human friend can fully understand them. Our loved ones want to help us but cannot take away our pain or give us true comfort. Earth has no sufficient consolation for us.

So we turn to You, O Jesus, and ask for Your help in our sorrows. We want to bear them sweetly, without complaining. We want to receive the blessing that comes with every pain or suffering, a blessing that is often missed. Teach us how to suffer according to Your will. Give us true comfort that enables us to endure whatever pain or trial we must face. Help us to grow stronger and kinder in every affliction. May Your sympathy bless us, lifting us into deeper fellowship with You. We ask all this in Your precious name, Jesus our Savior. Amen.

Good morning, brethren. Morning devotion for today. MD.i. πŸ˜€πŸŒΊπŸŒΉπŸŽπŸŽ€πŸ’ MORNING TEA THE WORD FOR TODAY TUESDAY AUGUST 11, 2O26. "WORKING IN THE KINGDOM (2)" β€˜To those who use well what they are given, even more will be given...’ Matthew 25:29 NLT YOUR VALUE in a job is determined by the value you add to the job. Are my hands pure?" That honest moment of repentance sparked a spiritual breakthrough, and soon people across the island began confessing their sins, turning back to God, and experiencing profound spiritual healing.* *In our text, the prophet calls God's people to repentance. Continuity in sowing the seed of the Word of God and wetting it with tears of prayers and acts of consecration will bring the abundant rain and there will be overflowing joy, revival and restoration again. *Question* Are you determined to continue getting deeper into the Word, prayer and consecration without giving up until the rain falls and there are blessings and visitations from heaven again? *Prayer Points* 1.Lord, open my eyes to areas that I need to turn to you afresh and make me willing to pay the price of turning πŸ™. 2.Give me the rain of the Spirit that will help me to sow with tears and deeper consecration until the abundant rain falls on my soul, nation and church πŸ™. 3.I ask for power and determination to continue seeking your face without giving up and backing out πŸ™. 4.Father, send the rain and awaken your Church to true restoration and revival πŸ™. *HYMN:* Come Holy Spirit. *BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:* JOB 9-12. 2. Morning Prayer fir today. MP.i. Morning Prayer For we have not a high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as [we are, yet] without sin. ⏀ Hebrews 4:15 He is never nearer than when we are tempted. ⏀ E.M. Bounds O Jesus, we thank You for living this human life with us, knowing all about our experiences. Amen. https://www.youdevotion.com/daily-prayer/miller/37/morning #taptapstudio #youdevotion.

  • There is one body and one Spirit.

    Ephesians 4:4 Ι΄α΄‹α΄Šα΄

Do you heartily believe, upon divine authority, in the doctrine of the unity of the body of Christ? Do you believe that there is such a body on this earth now, united to its divine and living Head in heaven by the Holy Spirit? Do you hold this great truth from God Himself, upon the authority of Holy Scripture? Do you hold as a cardinal and fundamental truth of the New Testament the indissoluble unity of the Church of God? Do not turn round and ask, β€œWhere is this to be seen?” This is the question which unbelief must ever put, as the eye rests upon Christendom’s numberless sects and parties, and to which faith replies, as the eye rests upon that imperishable sentence, β€œThere is one body and one Spirit.”

Mark the words: β€œThere is”! It does not say there was at one time and there shall be again β€œone body.” Neither does it say that such a thing exists in heaven. No, but it says, β€œThere is one body and one Spirit” now on this earth. Can this truth be touched by the condition of things in the professing Church? Has God’s Word ceased to be true because man has ceased to be faithful? Will anyone undertake to say that the unity of the body was only a truth for apostolic times, and that it has no application now, seeing that there is no exhibition of it? Is it on appearances that faith ever builds? Did Elijah build on appearances when he erected his altar of twelve stones? Did Josiah build on appearances when he carried his reformatory operations into all the countries that pertained to the children of Israel? Surely not! They built upon the faithful Word of the God of Israel. That Word was true whether Israel’s tribes were scattered or united. If God’s truth is to be affected by outward appearances, then where are we? The fact is, there is hardly a truth in the entire compass of divine revelation to which we could with calm confidence commit our souls if we suffer ourselves to be affected by outward appearances.

  • APOSTOLIC DECREE | WEEK ONE OF AUGUST

β€œAt that time the Lord said to Joshua… circumcise the sons of Israel again…” β€” Joshua 5:2 (NKJV)

I decree that this first week of August marks the beginning of a supernatural work of God within His people. This is not merely a month of outward activity but of inward consecration. The Lord is bringing many into a Joshua 5 moment where He is circumcising the hidden chambers of the heart, cutting away what no longer belongs in the life of those He is preparing for to take into this season prophetic promise.
I decree that every layer of fear, rejection, offense, pride, self-reliance, compromise, hidden bitterness, false identity, and every affection that competes with Christ is being exposed by the light of the Holy Spirit.
I declare that the knife of God’s Word will not wound you to destroy you but will heal you to prepare you. Every cutting has purpose. Every surrender has reward. Every place of conviction is an invitation into greater intimacy, greater purity, and greater authority.
I decree that this week the Lord is restoring spiritual sensitivity. Ears will hear with greater clarity. Eyes will discern with greater accuracy. Hearts will become tender once again before His presence. Many who have felt spiritually dull will begin to experience fresh hunger, renewed devotion, and deeper communion with the Holy Spirit.

I declare that the reproach of former seasons is being rolled away. Shame is losing its voice. The accusations of the enemy are being silenced. The Lord is restoring the confidence of sons and daughters who know they belong to Him.
This week, may every heart respond quickly to the conviction of the Holy Spirit. May every hidden place be surrendered. May every distraction lose its grip. May every believer embrace the loving discipline of the Father, knowing that He only prepares those He intends to entrust.

August will not merely be remembered as another month. It will be remembered as the month the Lord circumcised our hearts, restored our consecration, and prepared us to walk into the fullness of our prophetic inheritance. In Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.

  • Need to know.
SATAN'S PLAN OF VENGEANCE AFTER THE CROSS.

By the death of Christ, Satan knew that his own final destruction was certain and that the kingdoms of this world would ultimately be given to Jesus.

Having failed to overcome the Son of God, Satan gathered his angels in council and determined to direct all their power, hatred, and cunning against Christ’s followers.

They would seek to prevent as many people as possible from receiving the salvation purchased for them through the blood of Jesus. Through persecution, deception, compromise, and the introduction of false doctrines, Satan gradually corrupted apostolic Christianity, developing it into the powerful Roman Catholic religious system. Many of her false teachings were later adopted and carried forward by the apostate Protestant churches that came out of Rome but failed to separate completely from her doctrines and traditions.

He would encourage professed Christians to retain the name of Christ while rejecting His authority, His commandments, and the transforming power of His gospel.

In this way, Satan could continue his rebellion against the government of God and keep as many souls as possible from Christ and His gift of salvation.

It was also in Satan’s own interest to prevent people from accepting salvation. The sins of those who are redeemed by the blood of Christ will finally be placed upon Satan (the scapegoat), the originator and instigator of sin, and he must bear the consequences of his rebellion. But those who refuse the salvation offered through Jesus must suffer the penalty of their own sins.

The great controversy did not end at the cross. At the cross, Satan’s defeat was made certainβ€”but from that moment onward, his warfare against Christ and His followers became even more determined.

β€œBe sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.” 1 Peter 5:8
