• Patsy and I have been married eight years. Before we met, we had both been widowed. She had been married 43 years to her late husband. I had been married 50 years to my late wife.

    The story of how the two of us met, fell in love and married is a testimony of God's grace and favor. During the time we've been married, we have served in ministry to the widowed community we lived in in Texas. We also served in marriage support ministry (we still do) offering premarital counseling to couples soon to be married, or to the very newly married. We also have ministered to couples who were experiencing troubles in their marriages.

    When we moved from Texas to Arkansas in 2021, we became involved in ministry to the addiction recovery community. The area in Arkansas where we lived has a major meth addiction problem. There are quire a few Christian ministries serving the recovery community there. She and I taught Bible classes at some of the recovery houses, and both of us engaged in much one on one support to those within the recovery houses.

    Upon moving to Arkansas, we began attending a particular church. There we were asked to form and lead a seniors ministry group. We did that until later when we felt that God was leading us to make a change. Then we moved to another church. This one was heavily engaged in the addiction recovery ministry. This church was growing and God was doing some wonderful things there. Lives greatly changed, and the bonds of addiction broken for many.

    Something happened, and I won't go into the details, but the church was suddenly abandoned. We had no pastor and we lost the building. It seemed that the intent was for the church to close, and for the attendees to find other churches to attend. But both Patsy and I, and several others felt that God was not through with the ministry of that church

    Both of us felt that this was what God had put us there for. I was able to get the non-profit corp. signed over to me, and took on the role of lead pastor. But we had no place to meet. and a goodly number of the former members had moved on to other churches. Every week we scrambled to find a place to meet. Renting whatever venue might be available for that Sunday. We had no equipment including no sound system for praise and worship time. We had nothing

    But God provided. We borrowed sound equipment and even folding chairs. We had different ones help us conduct our praise and worship time. And I brought the Word God had for us that day. Soon we were offered the use of an American Legion hall for Sunday mornings. The fee was very good as our numbers were small, and in that community, offerings were very small as well By the way, this American Legion hall had no bar so that was a plus.

    During that time we were able to slowly accumulate a few pieces of sound equipment. We also had a family join who had been experienced praise and worship leaders. They were musicians thus we now had instruments.

    Later the opportunity came for us to move into an abandoned church building. The building had not been in use for over five years. It had everything we needed in the way of chairs, a small fellowship room, and Sunday School rooms. It was ready to use for services. No longer did we have to go early every Sunday morning to the AL hall to set up for service and then take down following service.

    Now we had a six month lease and a regular place to meet. But we knew that God had bigger plans. In November of 2025 we were able to move into a much more capable church building. At the same time, since the couple who lead our praise and worship had been former church pastors, and Patsy and I knew that our time there would soon come to an end, we appointed them associate pastors. In January of 26, this year, we turned the church pastorship over to them. This was in preparation for our planned relocation to Florida.

    So now, here we are. We have connected with a wonderful church here in our city. We are not involved in leadership. What the future will bring, God only knows. But we will serve as He leads and what doors He opens, we shall see.

  • MAKE PRAYER A DAILY RELATIONSHIP, NOT AN EMERGENCY CALL

    Prayer should not be something we remember only when we need help.

    Prayer is about building a relationship with God.

    When you wake up, say:
    “Lord, thank You for giving me another day.”

    When something good happens:
    “Thank You, Lord.”

    When you are worried:
    “Lord, I give this situation to You.”

    When you make a mistake:
    “Lord, forgive me and help me do better.”

    When you have nothing to ask for, simply say:
    “Lord, I am here. Thank You for being with me.”

    And before you sleep:
    “Thank You for carrying me through today. I commit tomorrow into Your hands.”

    Prayer doesn't need complicated words. Talk to God naturally, honestly and consistently.

    Don't make God your emergency contact. Make Him your daily companion.

    The pressure to:

    Succeed quickly.
    Make money quickly.
    Get married quickly.
    Find a job quickly.
    Become famous quickly.
    Build a business quickly.
    Have life figured out in their 20s.

    You see your friends succeeding, travelling, getting married, buying cars, building businesses—and suddenly you begin to ask:

    “What am I doing with my life?”

    But everybody's journey is different.

    Galatians 6:9

    “Let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.”

    Message to the Youth:

    Don't allow another person's success to make you give up on your own process.

    You need enduring grace to survive the season when:

    You have the dream but not yet the resources.
    You have the vision but people don't understand it.
    You have qualifications but no job yet.
    You started a business but customers are few.
    You are working hard, but progress seems slow.

    Grace helps you continue when results are not yet visible.

    The House Of God
    We will not neglect the house of our God.

    Nehemiah 10:39b
    Throughout the history of Israel, the temple, or the tabernacle before that, was called the house of God. God signified His presence there by the shekinah glory that was located in the Holy of Holies. Today, under the New Testament, no building is ever to be called the house of God. This has been ignored by churches throughout the centuries, and temples, cathedrals, tabernacles, and church buildings have all been called the house of God. If you look at the teaching of the New Testament, however, you will find that it is not a building but the people who are the house of God. At one point, we even changed the sign in front of our building to reflect this truth. Where it says Peninsula Bible Church, we added the words Meets Here. Thus, it is not the building that is the church--it is the people who gather here. They are the house of God.

    Notice the commitment of these people to attend faithfully the worship services of the temple. We all need the ministry of the saints. Paul prayed that the Ephesians may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge--that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God (Ephesians 3:18-19). You cannot do that without the ministry of other people. Hebrews has a specific admonition to that end: Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another--and all the more as you see the Day approaching (Hebrews 10:25). The writer is referring to the return of Jesus. As we see it nearing, we need all the more to gather together because we need each other's support.

    Two men of widely different temperaments work together. Normally they would not get along very well, and they might not even like each other. But they work together, and both agree that having to work with someone with whom they do not particularly have an affinity has been a blessing to them. They have learned how to appreciate someone different from themselves. They have learned how to be tolerant and patient with one another. Though it has been a struggle and they have had their moments, they both agree that God has used this to teach them how to grow. So even those in the house of God who irritate us can be of benefit to us.

    Father, thank You for the house of God--for those men and women You have placed around me, who in one way or another I desperately need. May I learn to appreciate and love them.

    After a long process with different kinds of warnings, Jude speaks of what we are supposed to do not tomorrow , not what was supposed to be done yesterday but to be done today .
    1. Keep building yourselves up on your most sacred faith.
    2. Pray in the power of the Holy Spirit.
    3. Keep yourselves in the love of God
    Yes this is supposed to be done as you all wait for our Lord Jesus Christ in His mercies to give eternal life.

    Are You Able To Do It?
    Yes in that waiting room as we wait for this eternal life by His mercies. Yes building yourselves , praying in the Holy Spirit and keeping yourself in the love of God?

    Prayer.
    Dear Lord help us to be able to do these things. On our own our building will crumble, we will not be able to pray for the Holy Spirit himself help us in prayer and keeping ourselves will be difficult but it is in you we live , we move and have our being..
    Help us in the name of Jesus Christ.
