• Hello my brothers and sisters, I am Pastor Fedner December. I am married and a father of three. I am Haitian and live in Haiti. Today I am writing to you about a difficult situation. As a brother in Jesus Christ, I have been living in a very difficult position for the past three years. Armed bandits have been forcing me to leave the capital, where I lived, and move to the countryside. Since then, I have been living a miserable life with my family, and now I am facing a serious housing crisis. I rented a place to live, but our financial situation doesn't allow us to pay the rent. The landlord is still pressuring me because I can't continue paying the rent. I am coming to you because we are brothers and sisters in Christ to help me overcome this situation. Please, my family has been living a miserable life since the rebels took up arms against the government and forced us to leave all our possessions in Port-au-Prince. Thank you for your help. May God bless you abundantly!

  • Good evening, brethren.
    1. Evening devotion for today.

    ED.i. *DAILY WALK WITH CHRIST*
    (COCIN DEVOTIONAL)

    *DATE:*
    SATURDAY 11TH JULY, 2026.

    *SUB-THEME:*
THE CONSEQUENCES OF REJECTING GOD'S GRACE.

    *TOPIC:*
    SPIRITUAL BLINDNESS.

    *TEXT:*
    2 CORINTHIANS 4:4-5.
    4. The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.
    5. For what we preach is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake.

    *TOPIC:*
    SPIRITUAL BLINDNESS.

    *THE MESSAGE:*
Spiritual blindness is the inability to see and understand spiritual matters. According to today's text, Satan is responsible for blinding the hearts of unbelievers against the truth of the Gospel of Christ. They do not only oppose the gospel message but reject and deny the servants of Christ any opportunity to preach. Spiritual understanding comes when we encounter Christ. It is only then that one can see and appreciate the things of God. In our time, there are many people, even in our churches, who are spiritually blind, like Saul, who was killing Christians thinking he was serving God until the scales of blindness fell off his eyes (Acts 9:18). Today, Christians are being beheaded by Jihadists, Fulani herdsmen, Bandits, and Boko Haram in the name of religion. What spiritual blindness! So, do not be like them.

    *REFLECTION:*
Rejecting God's grace leads to Spiritual blindness.

    *PRAYER:*
Merciful God, open my spiritual eyes to see you in Jesus' name. Amen.

    *MEMORY VERSE FOR THE MONTH:*
    HEBREWS 10:29.
How much more severely do you think one deserves to be punished who has trampled on the Son of God, profaned the blood of the covenant that sanctified him, and insulted the Spirit of grace?

    *TODAY'S BIBLE READING PLAN:*

*HANDLING INCOMPATIBLE LIFE PARTNER THROUGH GOD SENT MINISTRY PARTNER*

    *TEXT:* EXODUS 4:24-31.

24 And it came to pass by the way in the inn, that the LORD met him, and sought to kill him.
25 Then Zipporah took a sharp stone, and cut off the foreskin of her son, and cast it at his feet, and said, Surely a bloody husband art thou to me.
26 So he let him go: then she said, A bloody husband thou art, because of the circumcision.
27 And the LORD said to Aaron, Go into the wilderness to meet Moses. And he went, and met him in the mount of God, and kissed him.
28 And Moses told Aaron all the words of the LORD who had sent him, and all the signs which he had commanded him.
29 And Moses and Aaron went and gathered together all the elders of the children of Israel:
30 And Aaron spake all the words which the LORD had spoken unto Moses, and did the signs in the sight of the people.
31 And the people believed: and when they heard that the LORD had visited the children of Israel, and that he had looked upon their affliction, then they bowed their heads and worshipped.

*Timeless Truth:*_"Can two walk together, except they be agreed?"_ (Amos 3:3).

    *INTRODUCTION*

What a pain, what a clog in the wheel of progress, what a frustration, what a limitation and what a life of unfulfilled dreams when someone gets entangled with an incompatible life partner in marriage? What a joy, what a pleasure, what a fulfilment in life and what an accelerated progress when a saint is fortunate to get a compatible life partner and a God sent ministry life partner. Moses had a shave of what it means to marry someone who was not compatible with his life and ministry. However, he was comforted and divinely assisted by getting a compatible ministry partner who happened to be the elder brother , Aaron. We might be tempted to excuse Moses that he had no choice than to marry a Gentile contrary to the command of God to Israelites. He should take full responsibility. His case was the case of one miss step or mistake leading to another. He had never met God personally and by experience as of then. Yet he decided to force himself into the service of God without any personal encounter with God. He eventually had to run away and hide himself for 40 years due to self management. He eventually, got involved in a marriage that might appear he had no choice. Fortunately, what he lacked in marriage, he was able to correct and make up in ministry. He encountered God and heard his voice and was guided as to who his ministry partner should be. If he had missed that too, he would have well forgotten about his ministry in life. His getting it right in the ministry partnership helped him to stand above the storms of wrong and incompatible marriage. John Wesley and Apostle Joseph Babalola are among the witnesses that joined Moses telling us that an incompatible partner in marriage is extremely painful, but no one should allow that to be an excuse for not being what God wanted him to be in life and ministry.

    *1. Divine Intolerance for Profanity*

    a. The command of God on circumcision is the issue here. Circumcision of every male born child in Israel was a confirmation and seal of the covenant of God with Abraham and his seed.
*"Every man child among you shall be circumcised... And the uncircumcised man child... that soul shall be cut off from his people; he hath broken my covenant"* (Genesis 17:10-14). Refusal to circumcise the male child or be circumcised was profanity and there was always divine anger on such lack of irreverence for the command and things of God. Breaking any law of God that is connected to God's irrevocable covenant of blessings always attract divine hot displeasure because it is both disrespectful to God and a foolish self rejection of God's blessings attached to the covenant. *"And it came to pass by the way in the inn, that the LORD met him, and sought to kill him"*.
    b. Esau was accused of being profane because he despised divine blessings and rejected his double blessings of being the first born. God was angry at him for his carelessness with his birthright. *"Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright. For ye know how that afterward... he was rejected... though he sought it carefully with tears"* (Hebrews 12:16,17). God refused to overlook his profanity. The blessings of the firstborn in the Old Testament are akin to the blessing of salvation in the New Testament. Any saint who refuses to appreciate and jealously keeps his blessing and experience of salvation is a profane person and will definitely incur the wrath of God in this world and in the world to come. Gambling with any of the given gifts of God and gifts of grace will definitely invite the wrath of God and getting the divine blessings back will not be easy.

    *Question*

Do you take the Word of God very seriously or are you a profane person who takes some of His Word for granted?

    *2. Danger of Incompatible Partners*

    a. Moses put himself in a very difficult situation that made it difficult for him to marry an Israelite. He ended up marrying a woman that was a stranger to the covenant of Abraham. There are those who have married incompatible wives before they knew the Lord or His will. Such simply married according to sight since they had no relationship with God then. Zipporah could not understand how Moses would want to inflict a painful circumcision on her loved son. The woman had to yield by force when she saw the Angel of God appeared to kill Moses. Reluctantly, *Zipporah took a sharp stone, and cut off the foreskin of her son, and cast it at his feet, and said, Surely a bloody husband art thou to me"*. The attitude of the woman showed that Moses might not have told her or succeeded in convincing her of the sacredness and importance of circumcision. Or does it mean Moses told her, but the woman rejected outright?
    b. There is danger for those who just pick up somebody to marry other than praying to know the will of God and marrying a covenant person that also have a personal experience with God. First the sacred laws of God would be despised by those people like Zipporah despised the law of circumcision. Consecration to God and fulfillment of God's purpose for the believing spouse would be judged by the unbelieving as too high and even as foolishness. As a result, rather than supporting the man or woman of destiny, the partner would be a hindrance and a ready tool in the hand of Satan. The wife of Moses ended up calling Moses a bloody man as incompatible partners would also use names and words that are not encouraging.

    *Question*

What are the other dangers of marrying an incompatible partner? Are you also suffering it too?

    *3. Distinguished Through Inspired Partnership*

    a. Moses knew that Zipporah would be a great distraction to him and the wife also opted to stay back from that calling. Actually, there is no way an incompatible partner will be a blessing to the ministry except the person is helped to repent and get converted. Moses preferred to go it alone and the woman agreed to that too. *"he let him go: then she said, A bloody husband thou art, because of the circumcision"*. Obviously, the woman was not forced along, but rather made to return home to avoid further distractions. There is danger in forcing a partner who has no relationship with God to be part of the ministry of the spouse especially, if the unconverted spouse also wants to have her share in the ministry. That will be an unequal yoke in ministry. Moses put a dividing line between the home and the ministry. When the unconverted is allowed to share in the ministry of the spouse, the influence of the unconverted will not be helpful. However, the New Testament does not permit divorce because it is for better for life according to the Bible. The consecrated spouse needs wisdom to ensure the home front is peaceful, cared for and at the same time the ministry is not compromised or put as secondary.
    b. Moses at this time had learnt his lesson the hard way. He allowed God to guide and lead him in getting the right ministry partner and this was able to help him absorb the problems associated with incompatibility in marriage. *"And the LORD said to Aaron, Go into the wilderness to meet Moses. And he went, and met him in the mount of God, and kissed him"*. A lot of joy, fulfilment and happiness also follow doing the will of God and being yoked together with a person of like precious faith in ministry and conviction. The influence of Aaron helped Moses to achieve great things in the absence of his wife. *"And Moses and Aaron went and gathered together all the elders of the children of Israel... and did the signs in the sight of the people...And the people believed"*. God also raised Miriam to be a prophetess to assist Moses in the absence of the wife. Later Jethro brought the wife to join Moses in the wilderness, spousal incompatibility should not be used as an excuse for not serving God effectively. God's grace is still sufficient to fulfil the purpose of God even when the partner is not performing his/her role as partners in service.

    *Question*

Do you use marriage as an excuse for compromising the Word of God or reducing your consecration?

    *Prayer Points*

1.Pray to God to help you to get it right in marriage (if not yet married)and ministry and remove every form of profanity from all the members of your family .
2.Ask God for wisdom to manage the challenges in your marriage and ministry so that you will be at your best in God's service .
3.Pray for your spouse that God will move in him/her to be an asset to you in the service of God.
4.Pray for divine visitation of peace to families of church leaders that the partners are not cooperating .

    Evening Prayer

Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if [there be any] wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. ⏤ Psalm 139:23-24

God delights to answer the prayer of faith. ⏤ Samuel Chadwick

Dear heavenly Father, our hearts are filled with gratitude tonight as we think about how wisely You’ve led us this week. It’s been a week full of loving-kindness and tender mercy. You’ve walked with us every day and guarded us every night. You’ve brought us many blessings that will make this week bright in our memory. We’ve met new friends, read new books, had prayers answered, and found new joys. For all these things, we are very grateful.

Look over the record of this week, which is now laid out before You. You see the spots and stains—things we did that we shouldn’t have, and things we left undone that we should have done. Speak forgiveness to our hearts. We also ask for the grace to make the coming week better than this one. We can’t change the past, but we want to make the most of what’s left. Prepare us for the Lord’s Day, and may Sunday prepare us for the new week. Let Your Word search our hearts and reveal anything that’s not right—then make us clean.

Tonight, we pray for Your ministers who are preparing for tomorrow’s work. Fill them with Your Spirit, and lead them to the truth they need to share with Your people. Give them messages that bring life, peace, and comfort. Teach them what You want them to say. Hold them close to Your heart tonight so they’ll be ready for their sacred work. Give them empathy, so they can connect with those they’ll serve. Baptize them with a sense of human need, so they can truly help those who are hungry for the bread of life. We ask all this in Jesus' precious name. Amen.

  • TODAY'S MESSAGE.

    SERMON TOPIC:

A NATION UNDER PRESSURE NEEDS GOD.

Beloved, we live in a time when many nations are under tremendous pressure. Families are mourning. Communities are living in fear. Kidnappings, terrorism, banditry, economic hardship, corruption, and moral decline have placed enormous burdens upon society.

When a nation is under pressure, human wisdom alone is not enough. Political strategies alone are not enough. Military strength alone is not enough. A nation under pressure needs God.
History and Scripture reveal that whenever people turned back to God, He intervened and brought healing, restoration, and peace.

    Key Texts

    Psalm 33:12
"Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord."
A nation becomes truly blessed when it acknowledges God's authority and follows His principles.
    2 Chronicles 7:14
"If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."
God's prescription for national healing begins with repentance and prayer.
    Proverbs 14:34
"Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people."
National greatness is built upon righteousness.
POINT 1: NATIONAL CRISES ARE A CALL TO SEEK GOD
Whenever a nation experiences severe pressure, it should be a wake-up call to return to God.
Many people seek God only when trouble comes. Yet God allows challenges to remind humanity that without Him we can do nothing.

    Bible Example

During the reign of King Jehoshaphat, enemies gathered against Judah. The king did not depend solely on military power. He proclaimed a national fast and sought God.
    2 Chronicles 20:3-4
When the nation prayed, God fought for them and gave them victory.

    Lesson

National crises should drive us toward God, not away from Him.
POINT 2: GOD RAISES RIGHTEOUS LEADERS FOR TROUBLED NATIONS
    Leadership matters greatly.
A nation under pressure needs leaders who fear God, love justice, and value human life.

    Bible Verse

    Proverbs 29:2
"When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn."
Corruption, greed, and selfish leadership bring suffering.
God is able to raise men and women of integrity who will serve for the common good.

    Lesson

Pray continually for leaders at every level of government.
POINT 3: GOD EXPECTS HIS PEOPLE TO STAND IN THE GAP
God often looks for intercessors when a nation is in trouble.

    Bible Verse

    Ezekiel 22:30
"And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land."
The church must not be silent.
    Prayer changes situations.
Revival begins when believers take responsibility for the spiritual condition of their nation.

    Lesson

Never underestimate the power of consistent intercession.
POINT 4: GOD CAN BRING PEACE WHERE FEAR REIGNS
Fear may dominate the headlines, but God remains sovereign.

    Bible Verse

    Isaiah 26:3
"Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee."
God specializes in bringing peace to troubled environments.
When God steps into a situation, confusion gives way to order, fear gives way to courage, and despair gives way to hope.

    Lesson
Trust God even when circumstances seem overwhelming.

    CASE STUDY:

    NINEVEH'S NATIONAL REPENTANCE

One of the greatest examples of national transformation is found in the Book of Jonah.
God sent Jonah to warn Nineveh of impending judgment because of its wickedness.
The king, leaders, and citizens humbled themselves before God. They fasted, prayed, and repented.
    Jonah 3:5-10
As a result, God showed mercy and spared the city.

    Lessons from Nineveh

    1. No nation is beyond God's mercy.
    2. Genuine repentance attracts divine intervention.
    3. God responds when people humble themselves.
    4. National transformation begins with spiritual transformation.

    PRACTICAL ACTION STEPS

    1. Pray Daily for Your Nation
Make intercession for peace, security, and righteous leadership.
    2. Live Righteously
National change begins with personal transformation.
    3. Support Justice and Truth
Refuse corruption and dishonesty in every form.
    4. Encourage Unity
Promote peace among tribes, regions, and communities.
    5. Share Hope
Be a voice of faith instead of spreading fear.
    6. Participate Responsibly
Contribute positively to community development and national progress.

    QUESTIONS FOR REFLECTION

    1. Am I praying regularly for my nation?
    2. What role am I playing in promoting peace?
    3. Am I living according to God's standards?
    4. How can I become an agent of national transformation?
    5. Am I contributing hope or fear to those around me?

    PRAYER POINTS

    1. Father, have mercy upon our nation and forgive our sins.
    2. Lord, heal every troubled region and restore peace.
    3. Father, rescue every kidnapped victim and comfort grieving families.
    4. Lord, frustrate every plan of terrorists, bandits, kidnappers, and violent criminals.
    5. Father, strengthen and protect our security agencies.
    6. Lord, raise leaders of integrity, wisdom, and compassion.
    7. Father, let righteousness prevail in our land.
    8. Lord, bring economic restoration and opportunities for our people.
    9. Father, unite our nation and remove every spirit of division.
    10. Lord, let a mighty revival sweep across our nation and turn hearts back to You.

    Conclusion

A nation under pressure does not need despair; it needs God.
The answer to insecurity is not only stronger institutions but also spiritual renewal. The answer to fear is faith. The answer to corruption is righteousness. The answer to national pressure is divine intervention.

Let us pray, repent, trust God, and become instruments of peace.
"Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord." (Psalm 33:12)
May God heal our land, restore our peace, and grant us a future filled with hope. In Jesus' Name. Amen.

TODAY'S MESSAGE. SERMON TOPIC: A NATION UNDER PRESSURE NEEDS GOD. Key Texts Psalm 33:12 "Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord." A nation becomes truly blessed when it acknowledges God's authority and follows His principles. 2 Chronicles 7:14 "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land." God's prescription for national healing begins with repentance and prayer. Proverbs 14:34 "Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people." National greatness is built upon righteousness. POINT 1: NATIONAL CRISES ARE A CALL TO SEEK GOD Whenever a nation experiences severe pressure, it should be a wake-up call to return to God. Many people seek God only when trouble comes. Yet God allows challenges to remind humanity that without Him we can do nothing. Bible Example During the reign of King Jehoshaphat, enemies gathered against Judah. The king did not depend solely on military power. He proclaimed a national fast and sought God. 2 Chronicles 20:3-4 When the nation prayed, God fought for them and gave them victory. Lesson National crises should drive us toward God, not away from Him. POINT 2: GOD RAISES RIGHTEOUS LEADERS FOR TROUBLED NATIONS Leadership matters greatly. A nation under pressure needs leaders who fear God, love justice, and value human life. Bible Verse Proverbs 29:2 "When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn." Corruption, greed, and selfish leadership bring suffering. God is able to raise men and women of integrity who will serve for the common good. Lesson Pray continually for leaders at every level of government. POINT 3: GOD EXPECTS HIS PEOPLE TO STAND IN THE GAP God often looks for intercessors when a nation is in trouble. Bible Verse Ezekiel 22:30 "And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land." The church must not be silent. Prayer changes situations. Revival begins when believers take responsibility for the spiritual condition of their nation. Lesson Never underestimate the power of consistent intercession. POINT 4: GOD CAN BRING PEACE WHERE FEAR REIGNS Fear may dominate the headlines, but God remains sovereign. Bible Verse Isaiah 26:3 "Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee." God specializes in bringing peace to troubled environments. When God steps into a situation, confusion gives way to order, fear gives way to courage, and despair gives way to hope. • TODAY'S MESSAGE

IN THIS PERIOD OF BANDITRY AND KIDNAPPING — LORD, HAVE MERCY ON US.

    A Cry From the Heart

Beloved, we are living in challenging times. News of banditry, kidnapping, violence, and insecurity fills our communities. Many people leave their homes not knowing what the day may bring. Families are living in fear. Travelers are anxious. Parents are worried about their children.
In moments like these, the Church must not respond with panic but with prayer. We must not surrender to fear but run to God, who is our refuge and strength.
Today, our cry is simple yet powerful:
    "Lord, have mercy on us."
Mercy is what we need when human strength fails. Mercy is what we need when danger surrounds us. Mercy is what we need when we cannot control the circumstances around us.

    Key Bible Verses

    1. Psalm 121:7-8
"The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul. The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore."
God's protection is not limited by location. Whether at home, on the road, in the marketplace, or at work, God remains our Keeper.
    2. Psalm 91:1-2
"He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty."

Protection is found in God's presence. The closer we walk with Him, the greater our confidence in His covering.
    3. Lamentations 3:22-23
"It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not."
Many dangers are unseen. Every day we survive is evidence of God's mercy.
    4. Mark 10:47
"Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me."
Blind Bartimaeus understood that mercy can change impossible situations. Today, we cry for mercy upon our families, communities, and nation.

Point 1: God's Mercy Preserves When Human Security Fails
Security agencies have their role, but ultimately our safety comes from God.
    Psalm 127:1 says:
"Except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain."
This does not mean we neglect security measures. It means we recognize that our ultimate confidence is in God.
When God's mercy speaks, danger is diverted, traps are exposed, and lives are preserved.
Point 2: Fear Must Not Replace Faith
The goal of terror is not only to harm people physically but also to imprison them emotionally.
The enemy wants believers to live in constant fear.
Yet God says in Isaiah 41:10:
"Fear thou not; for I am with thee."
Faith is not pretending danger does not exist. Faith is believing that God remains greater than every danger.
A fearful heart loses strength, but a trusting heart finds peace even in difficult seasons.
Point 3: Prayer Is a Weapon Against Darkness
Throughout Scripture, whenever darkness increased, God's people prayed.
The Church cannot be silent while evil increases.
    2 Chronicles 7:14 declares:
"If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray... then will I hear from heaven."
    Prayer invites divine intervention.
    When believers pray:
    God releases protection.
    God exposes wicked plans.
    God strengthens leaders.
    God comforts victims.
    God restores peace.
Point 4: Mercy Must Lead Us to Repentance
National crises should also lead us to examine our hearts.

Sometimes God uses difficult seasons to awaken people spiritually.
    Joel 2:13 says:
"Turn unto the Lord your God: for he is gracious and merciful."
The answer is not merely political or economic. Our nation needs spiritual renewal.
Mercy flows where hearts return to God.
Point 5: Be a Carrier of Hope, Not Panic
Many people spread fear every day.
    Believers must spread hope.
Jesus called us the light of the world.
People around us should hear words of faith, encouragement, wisdom, and prayer.
The world has enough fear already. Let the Church become a source of hope.

    Biblical Case Study:

    Peter's Miraculous Deliverance

In Acts 12, Peter was arrested and imprisoned under heavy guard.
Humanly speaking, his situation looked hopeless.
But while Peter was in prison, the Church prayed earnestly.
God sent an angel, opened prison doors, removed chains, and brought Peter out safely.

    This story teaches us:

No prison is too secure for God.
No captivity is beyond God's power.
No situation is beyond divine intervention.
    Prayer can bring supernatural deliverance.
The same God who delivered Peter is still able to deliver His people today.

    Deep Spiritual Insights

    1. Mercy Often Protects Us From Dangers We Never See
Many attacks never happen because God's hand stopped them before they reached us.
    2. Prayer Is Preventive, Not Only Reactive
Do not wait for trouble before praying. Build a lifestyle of prayer.
    3. God's Presence Is Greater Than Any Threat
The safest place on earth is not a location—it is a life hidden in God.
    4. God Can Bring Good Out of Difficult Times

Periods of crisis often produce deeper faith, stronger prayer, and greater dependence on God.

    Practical Action Steps

    1. Pray daily for God's protection over your family.
    2. Speak Psalm 91 regularly over your household.
    3. Avoid unnecessary risks and exercise wisdom.
    4. Stay alert and security-conscious.
    5. Support victims and affected families through prayer and practical help.
    6. Pray for leaders, security personnel, and communities.
    7. Encourage others with faith-filled words.

    Questions for Reflection

    1. Is fear controlling my thoughts more than faith?
    2. How consistent is my prayer life concerning my family and nation?
    3. Do I truly trust God's protection?
    4. Am I spreading hope or spreading fear?
    5. What practical steps am I taking alongside my prayers?

    Powerful Prayer Points

    1.
Father, in this season of insecurity, let Your mercy speak over our lives and families in Jesus' name.

    2.
Every plan of kidnappers, bandits, and wicked men against innocent people, be frustrated by the power of God.
    3.
Lord, preserve our going out and our coming in from every form of evil.
    4.
Let divine protection surround our homes, communities, schools, churches, and workplaces.
    5.
Father, expose every hidden camp and secret operation of wicked men.
    6.
Grant wisdom, courage, and effectiveness to all security personnel protecting lives.
    7.
Comfort families who have lost loved ones and bring freedom to those in captivity.
    8.
Let peace return to our communities, states, and nation.
    9.
Revive Your Church and raise prayer warriors across the land.
    10.
By Your mercy, let Nigeria experience divine intervention, healing, and restoration.

    Call to Action

Church, this is not the time to surrender to fear. This is not the time to become discouraged. This is the time to pray more fervently, trust God more deeply, and stand together in faith.
When darkness increases, the light of God's people must shine brighter.

Lift your voice today and cry:
"Lord, have mercy on us. Have mercy on our families. Have mercy on our communities. Have mercy on our nation. Let Your protection, peace, and salvation cover us."
And as we trust in Him, may the Lord be our refuge, our shield, and our defender in Jesus' mighty name.
    Amen.

    When Bad Things Happen.

You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives. Genesis 50:20

What happens to you may well be beyond your control, but how you respond to trouble is entirely your call. Though I really don’t believe in what we call luck, either good or bad, there are certain things which happen which are the result of just living in an imperfect broken world. The front tire of your bike you’re riding slips into a crack in the pavement. You are thrown and sustain a badly broken leg.

The stock market falls suddenly and what you thought was going to be enough to last for the rest of your life is suddenly shrunk to a very small nest egg. The storm struck, with flooding your roof. The result was a flood of water that inundated your floor. Your company is downsizing, and you are the one who was released.

Nobody likes to have his life disrupted by what some call “bad luck.” I don’t. Neither do you. But I am more concerned about my ability to cope, my attitude and feelings in tough times, than I am in preserving myself from bad things which do happen.

When you are God’s child, you should live in a different framework and face trouble differently from the one who feels like an orphan in a big world. The Bible says God is sovereign, that there is a limit to what He allows. It also tells me that because I am His child, I am not exempted from the effect of evil in our world.

When difficulty knocks at my door I am always reminded that God promised to be with me in times of trouble, not necessarily insulate me and keep me from all difficulty. I try to remind myself of what Paul declared, that God’s grace is sufficient, that His strength is made perfect or complete in my weakness. I also strive to remember that I don’t have to see everything, understand everything, and know everything, provided I am following the Shepherd of my soul, who said He would walk with me through the dark valley.

There are times when I force myself to concentrate on the promises that God has made. I go back and read about Daniel in the lion’s den, Joseph in prison maliciously accused of sexual assault he didn’t commit. I read about Esther who risks her life for her people, and Paul’s tribulations and troubles, which make mine look small. I read Psalm 23, 2 Corinthians 4, where Paul talked about being “hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed” (2 Corinthians 4:8-9).

A closing thought. When I was a kid growing up, I discovered the thrilling sagas of a western writer by the name of Zane Grey, whose novels were filled with bandits, miners, Indians, buffalo hunters, and desperados. The plots were all fairly simple and played out about the same way over and over. It was the good guys versus the bad guys, but the good guy won out in the end. Quite often the beautiful girl was rescued by the hero who single-handedly confronted the gang of desperados and against impossible odds, won–the triumph of good over evil. On more than a few occasions I would be engrossed in one of his books when my mother would make an appearance, demanding the lights be turned out and I go to sleep.

Dutifully I would acknowledge her request, turn out the light, then take a flashlight and go under the covers. Turning to the last chapter I would read the conclusion. Then, knowing that everything turned out OK in the end, I could go to sleep.

Not knowing the last chapter, we have to trust God for it and wait, realizing God is a good God and I can trust Him. Then you can turn out the lights and sleep. Indeed, while God takes the night shift.

Resource reading: Acts 16:16-40

  • *Today's Prophetic Declaration - Friday, 8th May, 2026.*

*– I Walk in Divine Preservation and Safety.*

“The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.” — Psalm 121:8.

    *Prophetic Declaration:*
Today, I declare that I walk in divine preservation and safety. The hand of God is upon me and my household, keeping us from evil, danger, and every attack of the enemy.

I declare that no weapon formed against me shall prosper. Every trap set against my life is destroyed, and every plan of darkness is cancelled by the power of God.

The Lord preserves my going out and my coming in. I shall not be a victim of accidents, kidnapers, bandits, terrorists, ritualists, affliction, fear, or sudden calamity. God’s angels surround me, and His presence goes before me everywhere I go.

Today, I walk in peace, confidence, and assurance, knowing that the Almighty is my refuge and fortress. I and all that concerns me are secured in Jesus’ name. Amen

    *Action Steps for today:*
Thank God for His protection over your life.
Declare: “I am preserved and protected by God.”
Pray over your family and loved ones today.
Reject fear and speak safety over your journey.
Walk in confidence, knowing God is with you.

Today, divine preservation will surround you, and no evil shall come near you.

Good morning beloved and do have a blessed day.
    Shalom!

*Remember: Your confession is your possession*

  • A Jewish man traveled from Jerusalem to Jericho. The elevation of Jerusalem is 2,550 feet above sea level while Jericho, seventeen miles northeast, is situated 825 feet below sea level. This means that a person descends some 3,375 feet in a distance of seventeen miles.

The road is down all the way and very dangerous. It was known to be robber infested with the worst kind of bandits.

These robbers attacked this Jewish man and left him robbed, wounded, naked and dying in the ditch.

Both a priest and a Levite passed by but would not help. The Jews had no dealings with the Samaritans, but it was a despised Samaritan who had compassion.

This Samaritan went to him, bound up his wounds, pouring in wine and oil, placed him upon his own beast and took him to an inn and paid for his keep.

    Luke 10:25-37

    Truth Taught by the Parable:

The direct lesson taught here was to define just who is our neighbor. Our neighbor is any man who is in need of our help. However, the message of salvation is brought out so beautifully.

This Jewish man represents all mankind travelling the downward road away from God.Jerusalem represented the dwelling place of God upon earth while Jericho was the place that had been cursed.

Man has been travelling down, down, down, away from God, and the result is lying in the ditch wounded, naked, robbed and dying. God and the world are at enmity but God so loved the world that He sent His only begotten Son.

Jesus Christ is the Good Samaritan, who had compassion, who came where fallen man is. He pours in the wine and the oil, both of which represented the Holy Spirit.

He clothes the sinner with His own righteousness and carries him to the inn. This speaks to us of the church.

Even the two pence has meaning here. A penny is a day's wage and this speaks of providing for the man for two days. A day is with the Lord as a thousand years.

Therefore, this parable taught that the church would minister to the sinner for a period of two thousand years.

  • A YOUNG MAN LEFT EVERYTHING TO PREACH TO A NATION THAT DIDN'T WANT HIM... BUT GOD USED HIM TO SHAKE CHINA!
Hudson Taylor was just a young man when God placed China on his heart. At that time, millions of people in inland China had never heard the gospel. Most missionaries stayed near the coast because the interior was dangerous, filled with disease, poverty, persecution, and bandits.
But Hudson Taylor could not ignore the burden.
Before leaving for China, he trained himself to trust God in secret. He lived on very little money, denied himself comfort, and learned to depend completely on God for provision.
When he finally arrived in China, his life became extremely difficult. He suffered sickness, loneliness, and great opposition. Many people mocked him because he dressed like the Chinese people and even wore their hairstyle so he could reach them better.
People criticized him, but Hudson Taylor said that if he was going to reach China, he had to become like the people he was trying to save.
One day, while praying on a beach in Brighton, England, he cried out to God because of the millions of souls in inland China who had never heard the name of Jesus. That day, God gave him the vision for what later became the China Inland Mission.
He trusted God for 24 missionaries to go into the unreached provinces of China. Humanly speaking, it was impossible. He had no money, no great supporters, and no guarantee.
    But God answered.
Missionaries came. Churches were planted. Souls were saved. Villages that had never heard the gospel began to hear about Jesus Christ.
By the time Hudson Taylor died, more than 800 missionaries had gone to China through the mission God gave him..
Hudson Taylor proved that one man completely surrendered to God can change the destiny of a nation.
As he once said: “God's work done in God's way will never lack God's supply.”
    Let us pray:
“Lord, give us the kind of faith Hudson Taylor had. Help us to trust You even when we have little, obey You even when it is difficult, and stay faithful to the calling You have placed on our lives. In Jesus' name, Amen.”

    PSALM 139

139 O lord, thou hast searched me, and known me.
2 Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off.
3 Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways.

    Soaking wet at the seaside

I arrived in Morecambe in 1964, it was a seaside town that was trying to restore its former glories, it was best known for the famous comedian Eric Morecambe, part of the famous double act Morecambe and Wise.

When I arrived it had two piers, two theatres, the aquatic centre Marineland and a pleasure park, all of them are gone now.

So we settled in at Whitelow house, a four floor nursing home situated in the Bare area of the town, it was next-door to a church, which myself and my parents never went to.

The best thing was that there was a large garden at the back with apple and pear trees and a greenhouse, where my dad grew tomatoes and cucumber.

The house had a lift and Keith spent many hours going up and down in it, no one could ever get into the lift, because it was always in use!

We lived right on the promenade, which stretched for up to six miles and had the best views across to the Lake district hills, the sunsets were amazing and they are my fondest memory of Morecambe.

The sea came over the road in front of the house on a regular basis and flooded many houses on the sea front, our home was largely unaffected until the great storm of 1977, totally flooded the home, well it flooded the entire lift shaft, this happened on a Friday night and subsequent days leaving the sea wall broken. Now there are sea barrages of stones that stop such things happening again.

On many days I used to walk down to the centre of Morecambe and came back along the sea front, when the tide was coming in, I used to stand at the edge of the railings and when a big wave came in and hit the wall, I ran away from the edge, sometimes I got wet and sometimes I didn't, but I used to come back smelling of seaweed and spray, much to my parents dismay.

We didn't have much sand on the beach, mostly it was pebbles, but we did have a paddling pool, where we could catch crabs, we got a stick and got some bait and put the bait on a piece of string, and the crabs were caught.

I remember seeing a really big crab and reached down into the pool and yes you've guessed it, I fell headlong into it.

As I've said Morecambe had two piers and many amusement arcades, filled with things like penny falls and one armed bandits, sad to say some of my pocket money was spent on these things and also at my favourite sweet shop.

My parents loved their work, I was loved, but work took precedent over me, I became very unhappy, due to my speech problems and bullying at school, some of which was my fault, but more on that later.

Every Christmas I got the latest craze, whether Action man or racing cars, but no time from my parents, a burning anger was starting to flicker.

My parents to be honest spoilt me, they sent me to private school, they got me membership of the local golf club and they got me horse riding lessons, something I really enjoyed, we galloped over the sands, until one day, I got off my horse, opposite the nursing home and slipped getting off, the horse was spooked and one of its hooves landed on my head, causing a deep cut. I have never sat on a horse since.

From ages 8-10, this was one of three occasions, where i fell and smashed my head open, once I was tripped up whilst running at school and went head first into a radiator, and the second time I fell head first into a bench, don't ask me how.

My parents took me on holiday, Scotland, cruises were all good and I give thanks that they gave me everything they could, I have no anger against them. I give thanks for them and remember both of them with love.

    THANKS ERIC AND RITA.

I remember one morning especially, I was asleep the night staff were knocking on the door, it must of been 5 am, come quickly they shouted to my dad, he rushed out, one of the male residents had ended his life by tying a plastic bag round his head and suffocating himself, all these things affect a young mind.

One of things Mum loved was her music, we had a radiogram with a record player, and lots of classical music vinyl records, I used to love playing them, mum also was a great reader, books were everywhere, including a picture bible, I read its pages, not understanding what it meant.

Now I have come to love the book.

    Devotional thought

Many people think that honouring their parents as outlined in the ten commandments applies only to the lifetime of them, but it doesn't.

After we lose our parents, we are still to honour them by our actions and our words even after they die.

Many children carry resentment to their parents and this is not the way to go, blaming your parents for your problems is something I did for many years and it leads to a dead end, the best way to remember your parents is to be thankful for all they gave you and all they did for you.

This is the best way to honour your father and mother.

Jesus honoured his Father and Mother, so should we, in life and in death.

    Exodus 20:12
“Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the Lord your God is giving you.

    chapter 3

ON A GREEN HILL FAR AWAY

    1 TIMOTHY 1

15 This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.

I ended the last chapter, by saying that sometimes I read the bible at home, but did not understand it.

I continued to live in the nursing home with my parents, but my isolation was becoming worse and worse, everything thought it was because of my stammer, because of my environment, but it was because of my sin.

I was becoming a rebel, a thief, if anything was available, you could be sure, Keith would nick it.

Biscuits, cheese, cakes etc were my main targets, but also money became an idol, my dad has a big jar filled with 5p and 1p coins, the trouble was it never increased and you can guess why, however much he put in it.

My parents sent me to church, the methodist church near our house, this didn't stop this little artful dodger. These are things that I am ashamed of, they are put here, so say that Keith is the chief of sinners.

He went to Sunday school and church under duress, he heard the hymn below and thought he was ok

1 There is a green hill far away,
    outside a city wall,
where the dear Lord was crucified,
who died to save us all.2 We may not know, we cannot tell
what pains He had to bear,
but we believe it was for us
He hung and suffered there.3 He died that we might be forgiven,
He died to make us good,
that we might go at last to heaven,
    saved by His precious blood.
So I continued to go to church, I was ok, after all Jesus had died and I would go straight to heaven, after all wasn't God a God of love?

Life went on, I carried on as normal, my childhood was pretty unhappy, my parents had sent me to the private Friends school in Lancaster, this is where the bullying really took hold, but although I was clever, I wanted everything done for me.

My eyes became bad and I had to wear strong glasses, which gained me the nickname of Joe 90, after a famous TV cartoon character, life was spiralling out of control and was about to get worse, as the school I was moved to, was like a madhouse, it was the infamous Skerton County Secondary School, full of some of the toughest boys and girls on the planet, but also where my redemption started, but more on that in the next exciting Chapter.

Also at this school, I made two lifelong friends, David and Andrew my dear brother in Christ, who have both been pivotal in my life.

    Devotional thought

Ever thought that living in a Christian country or being brought up in a Christian home makes you a Christian?

    Well it doesn't.

So many people trust in their environment, we live in a Christian country after all, we even go to church at Christmas and Easter, aren't we ok?

I remember going to Sunday school, the only reason was to get sweets and prizes for going.

I have mentioned the picture bible, I used to read, I didn't understand it, who was this Jesus anyway?

And why didn't my parents read it?

My mother used to say a prayer with me

    Gentle Jesus meek and mild
    Look upon a little chid
    Bless mummy and daddy

The trouble was that I was never told, he could be MY SAVIOUR AND MY REDEEMER

So have you made it personal.

He desires a personal relationship with you.

Further on in this book, we will see this miracle happen to Keith.

Devotional thought Ever thought that living in a Christian country or being brought up in a Christian home makes you a Christian? Well it doesn't. So many people trust in their environment, we live in a Christian country after all, we even go to church at Christmas and Easter, aren't we ok? I remember going to Sunday school, the only reason was to get sweets and prizes for going. I have mentioned the picture bible, I used to read, I didn't understand it, who was this Jesus anyway? And why didn't my parents read it? My mother used to say a prayer with me Gentle Jesus meek and mild Look upon a little chid Bless mummy and daddy The trouble was that I was never told, he could be MY SAVIOUR AND MY REDEEMER So have you made it personal. He desires a personal relationship with you. Further on in this book, we will see this miracle happen to Keith.
