• Daily Devotion — August 5 | Acts 15:39 (NKJV)

God Can Still Work Through Imperfect People

Acts 15:39 describes a painful moment between two faithful servants of God. Paul and Barnabas strongly disagreed over whether John Mark should accompany them on their next missionary journey. Their disagreement became so intense that they chose to separate and continue serving the Lord in different places.
Although this conflict was difficult, it did not stop God's work. Barnabas invested in Mark, while Paul continued preaching with Silas. Later in Paul's ministry, he spoke warmly of Mark and recognized him as valuable for ministry, showing that God's grace brought restoration over time.

This passage reminds us that even sincere believers can experience disagreements. While conflict should never be desired, God is able to accomplish His purposes despite our imperfections. He calls us to extend grace, seek reconciliation whenever possible, and remain committed to His mission.
For believers today, Acts 15:39 teaches us not to allow disagreements to end our service for Christ. Instead, we should pursue humility, forgiveness, and trust that God can redeem difficult situations for His glory.

    Reflection Questions

    1. How do I respond when I disagree with another believer?

    2. Is there someone I need to forgive or seek reconciliation with?

    3. How can I continue serving God even through relational challenges?

    Prayer

Lord God, thank You for Your grace that works even through imperfect people. Help me to respond with humility during disagreements and to seek peace whenever possible. Teach me to forgive as You have forgiven me and to remain faithful in serving You. In Jesus name Amen.

    Practical Application

    ● Pray for wisdom before responding during conflict.

    ● Seek reconciliation where it is possible and honoring to God.

    ● Continue serving Christ with humility and grace.

    Takeaway Thought

God's purposes are never limited by our imperfections when we remain surrendered to Him.

  • Hebrews 10:25 — Church Is Awkward but Worth It

Bible Curious – Day Highlight Post

    Let’s be real for a second…
    Church can be awkward.
New faces, new routines, new expectations…
and sometimes the enemy whispers, “You don’t belong here.”

But Hebrews 10:25 gives us a gentle nudge:

    Don’t give up meeting together.
    Show up.
    Be encouraged.
    Grow stronger — together.

    Because yes, it’s awkward.
    But it’s also where:
    Community forms
    Faith deepens
    Healing happens
    Purpose awakens
    Iron sharpens iron

Church isn’t about perfection — it’s about connection.
And the moment you push past the awkward, you discover the blessing waiting on the other side.
