The Power of God's Word
Acts 4:4 takes place during a time of growing opposition against the early church. Peter and John had boldly preached about Jesus Christ after the healing of the lame man, and many religious leaders were disturbed by their message. Yet despite resistance and threats, God's work continued to advance. Luke records that many who heard the message believed, and the number of believers grew to about five thousand men.
