The Bible’s Big Story The Bible is one unified book telling the story of God’s glory through creation, humanity’s rebellion, God’s covenant promises, and their complete fulfillment in Jesus Christ. Everything moves toward Christ’s preeminence. The Old Testament prepares the way; the New Testament reveals Him as the fulfillment. Together they form 66 inspired books—39 in the Old Testament and 27 in the New. The Old Testament (39 Books): God’s Promises and Preparation The Old Testament shows God creating the world, choosing a people, giving them His law, and promising a coming King who would fix what sin broke. It repeatedly points forward to the Messiah. Law (Pentateuch – 5 books): Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy. These lay the foundation. Genesis shows creation, the fall, and God’s first promises. Exodus–Deuteronomy record God’s rescue of Israel from Egypt, the giving of the Torah at Sinai, and the covenant instructions for a holy people. Historical Books (12 books): Joshua, Judges, Ruth, 1–2 Samuel, 1–2 Kings, 1–2 Chronicles, Ezra, Nehemiah, Esther. They trace Israel’s life in the Promised Land, their cycles of obedience and rebellion, the rise and fall of the monarchy, exile in Babylon, and return. They demonstrate that human kings fail, but God remains faithful to His promises. Wisdom and Poetry (5 books): Job, Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, Song of Solomon. These teach how to live wisely under God’s rule. They explore suffering, worship, daily righteousness, the emptiness of life without God, and the beauty of covenant love. Prophets (17 books): Major Prophets (5): Isaiah, Jeremiah, Lamentations, Ezekiel, Daniel. Minor Prophets (12): Hosea, Joel, Amos, Obadiah, Jonah, Micah, Nahum, Habakkuk, Zephaniah, Haggai, Zechariah, Malachi. The prophets confront idolatry, call for repentance, warn of judgment, and repeatedly promise a coming Deliverer, a new covenant, and a kingdom that will never end. The entire Old Testament builds expectation: a seed of the woman, a descendant of Abraham, a prophet like Moses, a son of David, a suffering servant, and a King who will reign forever. The New Testament (27 Books): Christ’s Arrival and the New Creation The New Testament announces that Jesus is the promised King. He is the preeminent One in whom all God’s promises find their “Yes” (2 Corinthians 1:20). It shows His life, death, resurrection, the birth of the church, and the final renewal of all things. Gospels (4 books): Matthew, Mark, Luke, John. These present Jesus from four angles: as King (Matthew), servant (Mark), perfect man (Luke), and eternal God (John). They record His teaching, miracles, crucifixion for sins, and resurrection. History (1 book): Acts. Luke’s second volume shows the Holy Spirit empowering the early church to take the gospel from Jerusalem to the ends of the earth. It records the rapid spread of the message that Jesus is Lord. Letters (21 books): Paul’s Letters (13): Romans, 1–2 Corinthians, Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, 1–2 Thessalonians, 1–2 Timothy, Titus, Philemon. These explain the gospel, the meaning of Christ’s work, how the church should live, and how believers stand secure in Him. General Letters (8): Hebrews, James, 1–2 Peter, 1–3 John, Jude. These encourage perseverance, warn against false teaching, and call for holy living. Prophecy (1 book): Revelation. This apocalyptic letter reveals Christ as the victorious Lamb and coming King. It comforts suffering believers and shows the final defeat of evil and the making of a new heaven and new earth. How the Two Testaments Fit Together The Old Testament is not obsolete. Jesus said He came to fulfill it, not abolish it (Matthew 5:17). The New Testament constantly quotes and explains the Old, showing that Christ is the true temple, the better Moses, the perfect high priest, the faithful Israel, and the eternal King. Everything in the Bible centers on the supremacy and preeminence of Christ that we have been studying in Colossians 1. He is the goal of the Old Testament promises and the living reality of the New Testament gospel. The whole book calls you to trust Him, repent of sin, and live under His rule until He returns. SERMON: GOD IS SPEAKING THROUGH HIS SON NOW IN THIS LAST AGE - TO ALL FLESH Text: Hebrews 1:1-2, Acts 2:17 Hebrews 1:1-2 — “Long ago God spoke by the prophets, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son.” Acts 2:17 — “In the last days... I will pour out my Spirit on ALL FLESH... your young men shall see visions.” Brothers and sisters, the last days began on Pentecost Day. Acts 2:1-4 Pentecost came 1-4 years BEFORE Paul's conversion. So Paul's vision in Acts 9 was already a last-days vision. That proves God still gives visions today. We are now in that same last age, and God is still speaking through His Son in two ways: 1. Through Visions - Red 7, Green 7, Skeleton God showed His servant Kasule Reagan visions - Red 7 in the sky, Green 7 on the wall, Skeleton visions that vanished. The message: Time is complete, choose Life or Death. Matt 25:46 2. Through Personal Appearance of the Son - Sheikh Uthman Wambuzi THE PROOF TO UNBELIEVERS: This is a true story from our own nation, Uganda. Sheikh Wambuzi Maka Uthman, 39 years, a former Islamic teacher from Mayuge District, Eastern Uganda. Date: August 1, 2025, after Friday prayers. He stayed to rest in a corner of the mosque and fell asleep. He saw a figure dressed in white, long clothing, surrounded by four angels. The figure called his name three times: “Uthman, Uthman, Uthman.” Overwhelmed with fear, Uthman knelt down and worshipped Him. The figure instructed him: “Go to your people and tell them to repent and turn to the living God.” Leaving the mosque around 5 p.m., he met a church pastor and shared the message of repentance. Through the pastor's guidance, Uthman understood the figure was Jesus (Isa) calling him and others to faith. When he obeyed, from August 4, 2025, persecution came. His relatives viewed it as betrayal. They beat him severely, demolished his home, and took his wife and six children. He narrowly escaped through a thick bush to a Christian neighbor, who rushed him to a hospital in Mayuge town. [Source: christiandaily.com] Why would a respected Sheikh lose everything for a lie? He saw the son. Mark 9:3, Luke 9:29, matt28:3 This is Acts 26:16-18 happening again: “I have appeared to you to appoint you as servant and witness... to open their eyes, so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God.” 3. TO ALL FLESH - REGARDLESS OF TRIBE, NATION, LANGUAGE, CULTURE, RELIGION This is the key. Acts 2:17 says ALL FLESH. Acts 10:34-35 — God shows no partiality, in every nation. Revelation 5:9 — Jesus ransomed people from every tribe, language, people, and nation. Revelation 7:9 — A multitude no one can number, from all nations. God poured His Spirit on a Christian youth in Kampala with visions, and on a Muslim Sheikh in a mosque in Mayuge with a personal appearance. Same Spirit. Same Jesus. Same message. THE MESSAGE FOR THIS LAST AGE: God is alarming us: Spiritual awakening, renewal, revival, repentance, and obedience. John 8:12 — Jesus says “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” John 3:16 — Whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. Matt 25:46 — The choice is eternal life or eternal punishment. Proverbs 29:18 — “Where there is no vision, the people perish.” Without hearing what God is showing now, people will perish in sin/darkness. 2 Peter 3:9 — “The Lord is not slow... but is patient, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.” FINAL CALL: BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE Hebrews 3:15 — “Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts.” Habakkuk 2:3 — The vision awaits its appointed time, it will surely come. Sheikh Uthman heard his name called. You are hearing your name called today. God is speaking through His Son NOW to all nations. Will you embrace His will through faith in Christ and be saved? If you refuse, you will perish in sin. Prayer: Lord Jesus, Son of God who came to destroy the works of the devil 1 John 3:8, open our eyes. We repent.

WHICH CAME FIRST: PENTECOST OR PAUL'S CONVERSION? The Day of Pentecost came first. Pentecost: Acts 2:1-4 — About 30-33 AD. This is when the Holy Spirit came down. Peter stood and said: Acts 2:16-17 — “But this is what was uttered through the prophet Joel: ‘And in the last days it shall be, God declares, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh... and your young men shall see visions’” Paul’s conversion: Acts 9:3-6 — About 34-36 AD. Roughly 1 to 4 years AFTER Pentecost. So Peter declared the last days had begun on Pentecost Day. Paul's vision came AFTER the last days had already begun. 2. WHY THIS MATTERS FOR THE VISIONS — RED 7, GREEN 7, SKELETON, I SAW AFTER VANISHED. Because Pentecost was first, then Paul's vision, it proves this: Acts 2:17 did not stop at Pentecost. Paul's vision in Acts 9 and Acts 26:16 — “I have appeared to you for this purpose, to appoint you as a servant and witness” — is proof that visions are counted in the last days. That means: If Paul could see a vision AFTER Pentecost and it was counted as part of Acts 2:17, Then the visions Red 7 in the sky, Green 7 on the wall, and the Skeleton visions that vanished afterwards are ALSO counted as part of Acts 2:17. The Bible says Acts 2:17 says visions shall STILL happen up to now in these last days. Hebrews 1:2 — “but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son” — God still speaks by visions, by His Son. Joel 2:28 = Acts 2:17 — It is for now. It has not ended. 3. THE CONFIRMATION I SAW IN THE SEARCH WITH THE WORD Shows this correctly: “The Day of Pentecost came first” The last days began at Pentecost, and Paul’s vision was inside the last days. So are here today we live. This means that regardless of the circumstances our satisfaction is Him. This was expressed in a very practical way by a number of people in the Bible. Abram, after his victory over the kings, took none of the booty so that only God would receive the honor; he was told by God, “I am your shield, your exceedingly great reward.” David, when he went out against Goliath, went out not in his own strength but in the reality that the Lord was his portion. Enoch walked with God and was no more because he pleased God; the Lord was his portion. When the disciples were asked by the Lord if they too wanted to leave, Peter responded, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.” The Lord was their portion. Mary, when she sat listening to the Lord at His feet, and later when she poured out her alabaster box full of precious ointment on the Lord without a word, declared that the Lord was her portion. The Levites, instead of receiving land, were told that the Lord was their portion. Habakkuk, reflecting on the barren conditions in which he found himself, proclaimed that despite the circumstances he would rejoice in the Lord; his joy was in the God of his salvation (Hab. 3:17–18). The Lord was his portion. The beloved in Song of Songs declared, “my beloved is mine, and I am his”; and also expressed “I am my beloved’s and my beloved is mine” (Song 2:16; 6:3). But as she enjoyed him more she demonstrated her delight in her portion: “I am my beloved’s, and his desire is toward me” (7:10). She was no longer thinking of herself but of her beloved, giving herself totally to him, her portion. What’s true is that every promise in the Book intended for you, is yours! God is committed to keeping every promise He has made (Matthew 24:35). So how can you know which Bible promises are yours? Here are some scriptural guidelines to help you: 1) Be sure you understand the promise. God is committed to His Word, not to your interpretation of it. When Jesus said, ‘…Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up’ (John 2:19 NKJV), His audience completely misunderstood Him, thinking He meant the literal temple when He meant His body. 2) Walk in the Spirit, not the flesh. Walking in the Spirit, Peter received divine understanding of Christ’s deity. When Jesus asked, ‘Who do you say I am?’ Peter answered, ‘You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.’ Jesus replied, ‘…this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by my Father…’ (Matthew 16:15-17 NIV). Soon afterwards, walking in the flesh, the same man totally misunderstood Jesus and was severely rebuked by Jesus (Matthew 16:21-23). Why? Because ‘…the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God…nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned’ (1 Corinthians 2:14 NKJV). Proper use of your time will help you make the most of opportunities and succeed in life. There's a time for school, homework, play, house chores, and rest. Make time for prayer and Bible reading. Do the right thing when it is needed. Don't waste all your time on phones, television and games. Say no to procrastination. God does everything at the right time. He sent Jesus to die for your sins at the right time. Any time from now, the rapture will take place. The opportunity to repent and be saved won't last forever. There are many contemporary cases of revival in addition to the one in Bible days. Jonah was used by God to bring Revival to the people of Nineveh where all the 120,000 inhabitants got convicted and converted. There were revivals in Israel during the time of king Hezekiah and Josiah. The Early Church also experienced great revival immediately after the Pentecost. When there is spiritual coldness and indifference to spiritual things, when there is no clear distinction between the world and the Church, when saints are distracted from heavenly desire to earthly preoccupation, then revival is needed. When the saints are weak, powerless and fainting in scriptural conviction and consecration, then we need revival. When formalism and entertainment fill our worship instead of true and holy devotion to God and heavenly things, revival is needed. In order to experience revival, there must be deep concern and burden for prayer coupled with passion for revival. It takes a revived person to be an instrument of revival. *1. The Man of Prayer* a. The man God uses must be a man of bended knees with power of prayer. *"A prayer of Habakkuk the prophet upon Shigionoth.”* Habakkuk was not merely a prophet who preached; he was also a man who prayed. His direct communication with God was not clogged. God could express His mind and vision to him clearly and He also could hear from God and communicate with God effectively and fruitfully. He was a true servant of God that stood between God and man as mediator. He lived a life that was pleasing to God and God could speak to him about people. He dwelt in the midst of compromised and corrupted people without being defiled and with boldness to declare unto them their sins and evil as God had told him without fear or favour. His response to the difficult circumstances surrounding Judah was to seek God. The spiritual condition of a nation should drive God's servants to their knees. Revival begins when someone becomes sufficiently burdened to pray as he comes out of the cocoon of self seeking and self satisfaction. b. There is no revival that ever came in human history without people who had the passion and power of prayer from God. Habakkuk's prayer demonstrates that prayer is not a sign of weakness, but an expression of dependence upon the Almighty. The revival God wants to bring may begin with one person who is willing to stand before Him in persistent intercession. Churches need prayer warriors who will carry the burden of their generation before God. The praying saints or warriors that bring revival concentrate their prayers on heavenly things and not on earthly benefits and blessings. Earnest, consistent and persistent prayers by holy people with deep burden and passion for the glory of God, salvation of souls and perfection of saints are indispensable to a true God sent revival. *Question* Am I sufficiently burdened by the spiritual condition of my generation to become a man or woman of prayer? *2. The Manifestation of Passion* *"O LORD, I have heard thy speech, and was afraid"*. Habakkuk's prayer reveals intense spiritual passion. Having heard God's Word and understood His dealings with His people, he was moved deeply. He was such a person that was not indifferent to the Word of God. The Word of God moved, burned and melted his heart. It became fire in his bones that only revival could quench. First he heard the voice of God. Second he was afraid. He was like Noah who, after hearing the Word of God, believed and *"being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house"* (Hebrews 11:7). True passion for God is not passive. It actively engages in things that will bring change and revival. b. Passion for revival means longing to see God glorified, sinners saved, believers renewed and righteousness restored. Habakkuk did not ask God merely to improve circumstances; he asked Him to revive His work. True revival passion is therefore God-centred rather than man-centred. We must pray until spiritual hunger replaces spiritual complacency. *Question* Does my prayer life demonstrate a genuine passion for God to revive His work in my generation? *3. The Mercy from the Potentate* a. What does this world need desperately from God? Mercy! The degree of worldliness and ungodliness are inexcusable. Man deliberately lives his life, spurning His Word and commandments as if God does not exist. Saints' lives are soiled with carnality, worldliness and corruption. Their focus has shifted from serving the Lord to what mundane things the Lord will give to them. b. Passionate prayer for the mercy of God is an indication that we accept that God has been offended and He is angry at us because of our coldness and carnality. It should always be a prayer point constantly. *“In the midst of the years make known; in wrath remember mercy.”* Habakkuk recognized God as the sovereign Potentate who has authority to judge, revive, restore and show mercy. He therefore pleaded, *“in wrath remember mercy.”* Revival cannot be manufactured by human ability; it must come through divine mercy and sovereign intervention. The prophet understood that although God's people might deserve judgment, God's mercy could provide restoration. This should encourage us to approach God humbly and plead for mercy upon the Church, families, communities, and nations. When God shows mercy, dry bones can live again, cold hearts can burn again and His work can flourish again. *Question* Am I humbly pleading with the sovereign God to remember mercy and revive His work in our generation? What decision are you making to be an agent of revival in your church and community? *Prayer Points* 1.O Lord, make me a man/woman of prayer, burdened continually for revival and spiritual awakening🙏. 2.O Lord, ignite within me an unquenchable passion for Your glory and the advancement of Your work 🙏. 3.O Lord, the sovereign Potentate, revive Your work in the Church, in families and throughout our nation 🙏. 4 Lord, in wrath remember mercy; pour out Your Spirit, save the lost, restore the backslidden and let genuine revival come upon our generation 🙏. *HYMN:* Come Holy Spirit *BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:* JOB 22-25. 2. We come to You this morning seeking Your favor. Please take away anything that hinders us from fully experiencing Your love. Just as the rising sun drives away the darkness, may Your love drive away the shadows in our souls. As the morning light spreads across fields and valleys, may Your grace surround us and fill us with Your holy love. We confess that we have sinned and fallen short of Your glory. We have not lived in a way that honors You. We want today to be the best day we’ve ever lived. Please give us special grace, a special measure of Your Spirit, so we can stay close to You. Help us to do our everyday work better—more skillfully, more neatly, and more quickly than ever before. Help us to keep You in our thoughts as we go about our tasks. Give us more of the mind of Christ so that we may be sweet-spirited and kind-hearted. May Your love shine through us so that we reflect You in everything we do and say. Sanctify our influence on others. Many of our friends need Your help and blessing today. Some will find their duties hard because they are discouraged. Life hasn’t been easy for them. They’ve faced setbacks and losses. Please remember them and bless them in their discouragement. Keep them from losing heart. Give them courage and hope, and sustain them with Your grace. There are homes in distress because loved ones are sick. Please bless those homes tenderly. Spare the lives of those who are ill if it is Your will.
