TURN YOUR EYES TO THE LORD 📖 Psalm 34:5-6 "I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears. Those who look to him are radiant with joy; their faces are never covered with shame." David composed this psalm after being delivered by God from a life-threatening situation. He testifies that the Lord hears those who seek him and delivers them from their fears. Fear loses its power when our eyes are fixed on God. The more we focus on our circumstances, the more anxiety grows. But when we turn our eyes to the Lord, faith is reborn, peace fills our hearts, and hope is revived. God never leaves to shame those who put their trust in him. Today, choose to focus your gaze on God rather than on your difficulties. Seek His presence in prayer, rely on His Word, and let His peace replace your fears. A PRESENCE THAT NEVER LEAVES US "...And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." —Matthew 28:20 After His resurrection, Jesus entrusted His disciples with the mission of making disciples of all nations. Before sending them out, He gave them a precious promise: His constant presence. This promise is fulfilled today through the Holy Spirit, sent to dwell with believers. In days of joy as well as in times of trial, we never walk alone. The Holy Spirit is living proof that Christ is always in the midst of His people. When weariness, discouragement, or uncertainty knock at the door, remember this truth: You are never abandoned. The Holy Spirit is with you to comfort you, strengthen you, guide you, and remind you of Jesus' words. Jesus does not promise a life without difficulties, but a presence that will never abandon us. “Lord Jesus, thank you for Your faithful presence. “You will show me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.” — Psalm 16:11 JOY IN HIS PRESENCE, NOW ON With great confidence, David concludes this psalm with a vision of God’s presence as the source of joy, not only in the future eternity but even now. “You will show me the path of life.” The present and the future are together. This presence of God guides us in the present and opens us to abundant joy. “Fullness of joy in your presence”—the presence of God is itself joy. Not that God distributes joy from a distance; his face, that is, his presence, is the place where joy dwells. “Pleasures forevermore at your right hand.” David already sees a permanent dwelling in the joy of God’s presence. Eternity is an eternity of delights. Do you seek joy in human company, worldly experiences, successes, or intense emotions? All these joys are limited. But the joy "in His presence" is of a different nature, inexhaustible and permanent. Seek it first. May the presence of God be the source of your deepest joy.
