• NEED TO KNOW.
Peace in the Face of Provocation.

When met with unkind, harsh, provoking words and tones the natural human reaction is to retaliate in anger. To see if we can one up the person hurting us. To jump to our own defense.

But is this the path that honors Christ and builds character? When we retaliate under irritation, are we spreading a divine, healing influence and example? Or one that tends towards the gratifying of low passions, and the powers of darkness?

We cannot inspire those around us to rise any higher in noble aspirations if we permit ourselves to respond, in kind, to the provocations and offenses that so often come our way. Many times we get hung up over the human, forgetting that it is really satan- working through others- to destroy our peace and growth in Christ.

Join us as we explore what Scripture and SOP have to teach us on this crucial theme…this vital aspect of daily Christian living. Each of us are confronted with offenses and provocations, on practically a daily basis. How we respond, as believers who claim to love and represent Jesus, matters immensely.

The mouth of the righteous is a well of life, But violence covers the mouth of the wicked. Hatred stirs up strife, But love covers all sins.

    #Proverbs10:‭11‬-‭12‬ ‭

“Go your way; behold, I send you out as lambs among wolves.”

    #Luke10:‭3‬

The servants of Christ are not to act out the dictates of the natural heart.

They need to have close communion with God, lest, under provocation, self rise up, and they pour forth a torrent of words that are unbefitting, that are not as dew or the still showers that refresh the withering plants. This is what Satan wants them to do; for these are his methods. It is the dragon that is wroth; it is the spirit of Satan that is revealed in anger and accusing.

But God’s servants are to be representatives of Him. He desires them to deal only in the currency of heaven, the truth that bears His own image and superscription. The power by which they are to overcome evil is the power of Christ.

The glory of Christ is their strength. They are to fix their eyes upon His loveliness. Then they can present the gospel with divine tact and gentleness. And the spirit that is kept gentle under provocation will speak more effectively in favor of the truth than will any argument, however forcible.

Those who are brought in controversy with the enemies of truth have to meet, not only men, but Satan and his agents. Let them remember the Saviour’s words, “Behold, I send you forth as lambs among wolves.” #Luke10:3. Let them rest in the love of God, and the spirit will be kept calm, even under personal abuse. The Lord will clothe them with a divine panoply. His Holy Spirit will influence the mind and heart, so that their voices shall not catch the notes of the baying of the wolves.

  • Kingdom Authority and Power — What You've Been Given | Born Again in Today's World Day 3 | Kingdom Living

You got saved. You got a new identity. You started renewing your mind. Now it's time to find out what you're carrying.

Day 3 of the "Born Again in Today's World" series picks up where the morning training on Philipsburg Live and God's Love Live left off and goes DEEP into the authority and power that every Kingdom citizen has been given — and why most believers never use it. We break down the difference between exousia (delegated authority — the RIGHT to act) and dunamis (supernatural power — the ABILITY to act) — and why you need both. We walk through Peter and John at the Beautiful Gate, the seventy-two returning with joy, and the moment Jesus told His disciples He saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.

Then we bring it to the break room, the drive-through, and the drive home— because Kingdom authority that only works inside the church building isn't Kingdom authority at all.

Fair warning: you will laugh, you will get convicted, and you will never look at a 120-pound police officer the same way again.
