📘 Daily Devotion — May 23 | Mark 10:52 (NKJV) 💯 Seeing Clearly and Following Faithfully Mark chapter 10 ends with the story of blind Bartimaeus sitting beside the road near Jericho. When he heard that Jesus was passing by, he began crying out Son of David have mercy on me Even though the crowd tried to silence him, Bartimaeus continued calling out to Jesus with determination and faith. Jesus stopped and called for him. When Bartimaeus came to Him, Jesus asked what he wanted. Bartimaeus responded clearly Lord that I may receive my sight. Jesus then told him that his faith had made him well, and immediately his sight was restored. What makes this moment especially meaningful is what happened next. Bartimaeus did not simply receive healing and return to his old life. Scripture says he followed Jesus on the road. His restored sight led to discipleship and devotion. This passage reveals that genuine faith not only seeks help from Jesus but also follows Him afterward. Bartimaeus recognized who Jesus was and responded with persistence, humility, and trust. Once his life was changed, he chose to walk with Christ. For believers today this verse reminds us that faith is more than receiving blessings from God. True faith leads to a life that follows Jesus daily. Spiritual sight should move believers toward deeper obedience, worship, and commitment.
