    The Lord sees every hurt, unfair treatment, false charge, malicious talk, deep pain, and hidden tear. He knows the full truth, and we can rest assured that He will vindicate us and bring justice.

    However, we must also be aware that our thoughts, motives, actions and every intent of the heart are also fully known to the Lord. There is no way we can hide our sins or justify our unrighteous ways before a just, holy and all-knowing God.

  • SATAN WAS CREATED

    Many people view the conflict between God and Satan as a spiritual tug-of-war between two equally powerful opponents. NOTHING could be further from the truth.

    Addressing Satan, Ezekiel 28:13 mentions “the day that you were created.” The phrase is repeated in verse 15: God was reminding Satan that he is the creature, not the Creator. God is omniscient, omnipotent, and omnipresent; Satan is none of those things. We need to remember that God is eternal, but Satan is a created being.

  • Good morning, brethren.
    1. Morning devotion for today.

    MD.i. MORNING TEA
    THE WORD FOR TODAY
    FRIDAY JULY 31, 2O26.
    "CONTROL YOUR TONGUE "

    '…If we could control our tongues, we…could also control ourselves in every other way.’  James 3:2 NLT

    THE SAYING goes, ‘We are like cats; we lick ourselves with our tongues!’ When someone spreads gossip, mark that person carefully. Why? Because if they talk to you about somebody else, they’ll talk to somebody else about you. The Bible warns us about three things: 1) a hasty tongue. ‘Do you see a man hasty in his words? There is more hope for a fool than for him’ (Proverbs 29:20 NKJV). If you take time to get the facts, much of the time you’ll speak differently. Hannah prayed so passionately for a child that Eli the high priest thought she was drunk. When the disciples saw Jesus walking toward them on the Sea of Galilee, they thought He was a ghost. So think, or better yet, pray before you jump to conclusions. 2) a flattering tongue. ‘…There is no faithfulness in their mouth…they flatter with their tongue’ (Psalms 5:9 NKJV). Say what you mean and mean what you say. Be genuine. When you flatter people, you manipulate them for your own ends. Don’t do that. Give it to them straight. If you love them, be truthful with them. 3) a judgmental tongue. Jesus said, ‘Judge not, that you be not judged. For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you’ (Matthew 7:1-2 NKJV). If you live long enough, you’ll be guilty of many of the same things you’re so quick to condemn in others. The truth is, how you deal with other people determines how God deals with you.

    ```KEY VERSE:``` _*"And he sent Peter and John, saying, Go and prepare us the passover, that we may eat" (LUKE 22:8).*_
    *One of the most enduring and longest placed dining tables in the world is in the Taj Falaknuma Palace in Hyderabad, India. The palace was built by Nawab Viqar-ul-Umra, and it was completed in 1894. The dining table was crafted with the finest materials available at that time. It is 108-foot-long and is designed to seat 101 guests. The table is part of the furniture still used today at the Taj Falaknuma Palace, which has been converted to a luxury hotel. It takes an uncommon table to entertain uncommon guests.*
    *It was Passover time and for Jesus, it would be His last with His disciples. He wanted to celebrate it in an uncommon way. He instructed them to go and prepare a place for the feast, though, unknown to them, He had by divine power, already put arrangements in place. Getting the work done well will take their willingness, faith in His word and implicit obedience to His instructions for them to make a success of their assignment. Jesus sent Peter and John on this special assignment and wonderfully enough, on this occasion, Peter did not ask questions. He went as instructed and found the words of Jesus true to the letter.*
    *There is nothing on earth that can take our Lord by surprise. John says Jesus "needed not that any should testify of man: for he knew what was in man" (John 2:25). He knew the houses and spaces available for Him. He knew the locations and available "large rooms" furnished to receive Him. But He did not take chances by keeping the guests wondering when He would come. He sent an advance party to get all things ready.*
    *The Lord Jesus is coming again and He wants you to be ready for the marriage supper of the Lamb. He has gone to prepare a place for the elect and He wants us to be watchful and prepared for the glorious occasion. Peter and John did not hesitate to carry out His plan to get the table for the feast ready. He has great expectations that you will carry out His instructions. Will you let Him down?*
    *The _Collins Dictionary_ defines restitution as one, "the act of giving back something that has been lost or stolen;" two, "the act of compensating for loss or injury by reverting as far as possible to the position before such injury occurred;" and three, "the return of an object or system to its original state, especially a restoration of shape after elastic deformation."*
    *This three-layer definition of restitution provides a clear picture of what restitution entails in the Christian faith. Restitution is important because it shows how repentance and conversion come with a broken and contrite spirit. The example of Zacchaeus in the Bible demonstrates that becoming a disciple of Christ requires restoring to others what has been taken wrongfully.*
    *Restitution concretises your repentance and it also makes people around you to know about the grace of God which could help you to be desirous of amending your ways.     John borrowed a story book from the library and forgot to return it. In church, years after he left primary school, he heard a message on restitution. He made up his mind to take the book back to his former school. The head teacher of the school was very happy with John.
    When we become saved, God expects us to make right all our wrongs. Perhaps you took something that does not belong to you, return it to the rightful owner. If you told a lie or bore false witness against an innocent person or gossiped about your pastor, friend or teacher, then, you must do your restitutions and make things right with them.
    The verse three (3) of our text says, *"Or have found that which was lost, and lieth concerning it, and sweareth falsely; in any of all these that a man doeth, sinning therein". You must return all that does not belong to you to the rightful owners and confess to people you have wrongfully accused. When you do these, God will bless you with peace, joy and progress.*
    *OBEDIENCE UNTO DEATH*
    *TEXT:* LUKE 22:7-12.
    7 Then came the day of unleavened bread, when the passover must be killed.
    8 And he sent Peter and John, saying, Go and prepare us the passover, that we may eat.
    9 And they said unto him, Where wilt thou that we prepare?
    10 And he said unto them, Behold, when ye are entered into the city, there shall a man meet you, bearing a pitcher of water; follow him into the house where he entereth in.
    11 And ye shall say unto the goodman of the house, The Master saith unto thee, Where is the guestchamber, where I shall eat the passover with my disciples?
    12 And he shall shew you a large upper room furnished: there make ready.
    *Timeless Truth:*_"Being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross"_ (Philippians 2:8).
    *INTRODUCTION*
    Willing and joyful obedience to God and His Word is one of the clearest distinguishing marks of a child of God. An unconverted person will see obedience as a burden and when he may be willing he may not have the power to obey. When someone is genuinely converted, all forms of resistance and reluctance in obeying God are given a deadly blow. The more consecrated he is, the more tender his heart is and the more surrendered to the will, word, way and wisdom of God. Obedience is the practical proof of love for God. As the hour of His suffering drew near, Jesus did not avoid the Father’s will; He moved steadily toward the cross even when it was not convenient. In this passage we see obedience displayed first by the Saviour, then by His servants and finally by those who would become obedient saints. True discipleship is not selective obedience, but complete surrender, even when the path leads to sacrifice.
    *1. The Obedient Saviour*
    *"Then came the day of unleavened bread, when the passover must be killed.”* The law of the passover had been in existence for thousands of years since the children of Israel were delivered from Egypt. It is easy to see the ceremonial law as outdated and Jesus could easily have waived it off as inconsequential. Rather, Jesus took it seriously as something that must be obeyed since it had not been abrogated by God. There is also the psychological trauma that He could have used as an excuse for not obeying this law of passover. He knew that the Passover pointed to His own death as the Lamb of God and the thought of it could be very distressing. Yet, He was obedient unto death; He did not resist the divine timetable. His obedience was deliberate, timely and total.
    b. Obedience to the Word of God should be total and there should not be any excuse when the Word of God is clear. He teaches us that obedience is not merely doing what is easy; it is submitting to God’s will even when it involves suffering. There is no record of spots in the character of Jesus though He passed through most emotionally tasking situations and circumstances. We are to follow His example and this will take determination, consecration and prayer for grace.
    *Question*
    Am I willing to obey God when obedience demands sacrifice, inconvenience or personal loss?
    *2. The Obedient Servants*
    a. Jesus sent Peter and John with specific instructions concerning the Passover preparation. *"Go and prepare us the passover that we may eat"*. They were told what to do, where to go and whom to follow. That kind of commandment was strange. The disciples were always with Jesus and they never saw or heard Him telling someone about using his house for passover. It was natural for people like Peter not to "play the fool" but rather ask questions from Christ so as to be more certain. Surprisingly, they did not ask Jesus for clarifications, argue, delay or substitute their own ideas; they simply obeyed. Actually, the instructions were detailed enough that without any question they could easily follow the instructions of Jesus. But it would require faith in the Omniscience and Omnipresence of Jesus to obey.
    b. Pride and unbelief are two major drivers of disobedience. He who will follow Jesus must have faith in Christ as the faithful Lord of heaven and earth. He is Omnipotent and Omniscient. There must be humility too. It is the humility of Christ that made Him submit to God's Word and paid the ultimate price for the salvation of mankind. Obedient servants trust the wisdom of their Master even when they do not fully understand His instructions. God often guides step by step and blessing follows those who respond promptly.
    *Question*
    Do I obey God promptly or do I delay until His command agrees with my own plans?
    *3. The Obedient Saint*
    There was no evidence that Jesus had ever met this owner of the house on one on one. He might have been among those multitudes that have heard of Jesus and perhaps followed Jesus. He is a type of secret saint or secret disciple of Christ. The owner of the house responded positively when the disciples conveyed the Master’s request. He made available a large furnished upper room for the Lord’s use. This unnamed man became an example of a saint whose possessions, home and resources were surrendered for God’s purpose. Obedience is
    not limited to dramatic acts; it includes the faithful dedication of what we have to the service of Christ and willingness to give up anything the Master asks for, no matter how precious.
    *Question*
    Is my life, my home, my time and my substance fully available for the Lord’s use? Is there any aspect of the Word of God that you waive aside because you are not willing to obey?
    *Prayer Points*
    1.Lord Jesus, give me a heart that delights to obey You completely .
    2.Father, remove every spirit of disobedience, delay and self-will from my life .
    3.I consecrate my life, family, home and resources for Your service and keep me obedient unto the end .
    4.Circumcise the heart of Your children and purge them from secret, silent and sinning disobedience .
    *HYMN:* Trust and Obey
    *BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:* PHILIPPIANS 1-4.
    2. Morning Prayer for today.
    MP.i. Morning Prayer
    Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer. ⏤ Psalm 19:14
    It is not what a man does that determines whether his work is sacred or secular, but why he does it. ⏤ A.W. Tozer
    O You who dwell in the heavens, we lift our eyes to You. The morning calls us again to worship You, and we gladly come to Your feet with our praise. It is fitting that we should bring You our hearts' worship. We have been called from death, as it were, for in our sleep we were like the dead. Our waking is a new beginning of life. We give ourselves to You for another day. We dedicate this day to You and want to make it entirely Yours. We want to make it a holy day, without blemish. We don't want to do anything to stain its white page. We want to write on this little page of ours only beautiful things—a record of worthy deeds, faithfulness, kindness, and unselfishness.
    But we know that we can only make this day white and worthy with Your help. We are naturally selfish—but may You fill us with Your love so that we will do only loving things today. Preserve us from impatience, from outbursts of temper, from quarrelsomeness, and from all harsh and bitter speech. Help us as a family to live together with affection, bearing with one another, restraining anger and unkind feelings, and showing only thoughtfulness, gentleness, and sweetness of spirit. Help us to make our home a place of love where no sharp or unkind words are spoken, where each person thinks only of the others' happiness. Make our home one where Jesus Himself would be glad to be a constant guest.
    Then may our home today be a center of holy influence that spreads light, warmth, and cheer to other homes. There are homes without Your love—without the blessing of Your love revealed and understood. May the influence of our home help to make these homes truer. We ask this in Jesus' precious name. Amen.
When you do these, God will bless you with peace, joy and progress.* 🍥🍥🍥🍥🍥🍥🍥🍥 ```🅿️rayer:``` _*Oh Lord, grant me the courage to give back all that I have taken falsely, and make my way right.*_ 🙏🏽 ```📖 Further Reading:``` *Luke 19:1-8* Right Your Wrongs! https://dailymanna.app// *TXD [THEXDEVOTIONALS] on Twitter* *#SincereMilk31stJuly2026* *#GCK* *#WorshipNuggets* *#BibleNuggets* *#LeadershipNuggets* *#RevivalNuggets* *#CrusadeNuggets* https://www.youtube.com/[THEXDEVOTIONALS] [30/07, 9:01 pm] Pastor Attah: *MEDITATIONS ON DAILY ⓂANNA* FRIDAY, 31ST JULY, 2026. *OBEDIENCE UNTO DEATH* *TEXT:* LUKE 22:7-12. 7 Then came the day of unleavened bread, when the passover must be killed. 8 And he sent Peter and John, saying, Go and prepare us the passover, that we may eat. 9 And they said unto him, Where wilt thou that we prepare? 10 And he said unto them, Behold, when ye are entered into the city, there shall a man meet you, bearing a pitcher of water; follow him into the house where he entereth in. 11 And ye shall say unto the goodman of the house, The Master saith unto thee, Where is the guestchamber, where I shall eat the passover with my disciples? 12 And he shall shew you a large upper room furnished: there make ready. *Timeless Truth:*_"Being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross"_ (Philippians 2:8). *INTRODUCTION* Willing and joyful obedience to God and His Word is one of the clearest distinguishing marks of a child of God. An unconverted person will see obedience as a burden and when he may be willing he may not have the power to obey. When someone is genuinely converted, all forms of resistance and reluctance in obeying God are given a deadly blow. The more consecrated he is, the more tender his heart is and the more surrendered to the will, word, way and wisdom of God. Obedience is the practical proof of love for God. As the hour of His suffering drew near, Jesus did not avoid the Father’s will; He moved steadily toward the cross even when it was not convenient. In this passage we see obedience displayed first by the Saviour, then by His servants and finally by those who would become obedient saints. True discipleship is not selective obedience, but complete surrender, even when the path leads to sacrifice. *1. The Obedient Saviour* *"Then came the day of unleavened bread, when the passover must be killed.”* The law of the passover had been in existence for thousands of years since the children of Israel were delivered from Egypt. It is easy to see the ceremonial law as outdated and Jesus could easily have waived it off as inconsequential. Rather, Jesus took it seriously as something that must be obeyed since it had not been abrogated by God. There is also the psychological trauma that He could have used as an excuse for not obeying this law of passover. He knew that the Passover pointed to His own death as the Lamb of God and the thought of it could be very distressing. Yet, He was obedient unto death; He did not resist the divine timetable. His obedience was deliberate, timely and total. b. Obedience to the Word of God should be total and there should not be any excuse when the Word of God is clear. He teaches us that obedience is not merely doing what is easy; it is submitting to God’s will even when it involves suffering. There is no record of spots in the character of Jesus though He passed through most emotionally tasking situations and circumstances. We are to follow His example and this will take determination, consecration and prayer for grace. *Question* Am I willing to obey God when obedience demands sacrifice, inconvenience or personal loss? *2. The Obedient Servants* a. Jesus sent Peter and John with specific instructions concerning the Passover preparation. *"Go and prepare us the passover that we may eat"*. They were told what to do, where to go and whom to follow. That kind of commandment was strange. The disciples were always with Jesus and they never saw or heard Him telling someone about using his house for passover. It was natural for people like Peter not to "play the fool" but rather ask questions from Christ so as to be more certain. Surprisingly, they did not ask Jesus for clarifications, argue, delay or substitute their own ideas; they simply obeyed. Actually, the instructions were detailed enough that without any question they could easily follow the instructions of Jesus. But it would require faith in the Omniscience and Omnipresence of Jesus to obey. b. Pride and unbelief are two major drivers of disobedience. He who will follow Jesus must have faith in Christ as the faithful Lord of heaven and earth. He is Omnipotent and Omniscient. There must be humility too. It is the humility of Christ that made Him submit to God's Word and paid the ultimate price for the salvation of mankind. Obedient servants trust the wisdom of their Master even when they do not fully understand His instructions. God often guides step by step and blessing follows those who respond promptly. *Question* Do I obey God promptly or do I delay until His command agrees with my own plans? *3. The Obedient Saint* There was no evidence that Jesus had ever met this owner of the house on one on one. He might have been among those multitudes that have heard of Jesus and perhaps followed Jesus. He is a type of secret saint or secret disciple of Christ. The owner of the house responded positively when the disciples conveyed the Master’s request. He made available a large furnished upper room for the Lord’s use. This unnamed man became an example of a saint whose possessions, home and resources were surrendered for God’s purpose. Obedience is not limited to dramatic acts; it includes the faithful dedication of what we have to the service of Christ and willingness to give up anything the Master asks for, no matter how precious. *Question* Is my life, my home, my time and my substance fully available for the Lord’s use? Is there any aspect of the Word of God that you waive aside because you are not willing to obey? *Prayer Points* 1.Lord Jesus, give me a heart that delights to obey You completely 🙏. 2.Father, remove every spirit of disobedience, delay and self-will from my life 🙏. 3.I consecrate my life, family, home and resources for Your service and keep me obedient unto the end 🙏. 4.Circumcise the heart of Your children and purge them from secret, silent and sinning disobedience 🙏. *HYMN:* Trust and Obey *BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:* PHILIPPIANS 1-4. 2. Morning Prayer for today. MP.i. Morning Prayer Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer. ⏤ Psalm 19:14 It is not what a man does that determines whether his work is sacred or secular, but why he does it. ⏤ A.W. Tozer O You who dwell in the heavens, we lift our eyes to You. The morning calls us again to worship You, and we gladly come to Your feet with our praise. It is fitting that we should bring You our hearts' worship. We have been called from death, as it were, for in our sleep we were like the dead. Our waking is a new beginning of life. We give ourselves to You for another day. We dedicate this day to You and want to make it entirely Yours. We want to make it a holy day, without blemish. We don't want to do anything to stain its white page. We want to write on this little page of ours only beautiful things—a record of worthy deeds, faithfulness, kindness, and unselfishness. But we know that we can only make this day white and worthy with Your help. We are naturally selfish—but may You fill us with Your love so that we will do only loving things today. Preserve us from impatience, from outbursts of temper, from quarrelsomeness, and from all harsh and bitter speech. Help us as a family to live together with affection, bearing with one another, restraining anger and unkind feelings, and showing only thoughtfulness, gentleness, and sweetness of spirit. Help us to make our home a place of love where no sharp or unkind words are spoken, where each person thinks only of the others' happiness. Make our home one where Jesus Himself would be glad to be a constant guest. Then may our home today be a center of holy influence that spreads light, warmth, and cheer to other homes. There are homes without Your love—without the blessing of Your love revealed and understood. May the influence of our home help to make these homes truer. We ask this in Jesus' precious name. Amen. https://www.youdevotion.com/daily-prayer/miller/26/morning #taptapstudio #youdevotion.
    To Win— W.I.N— that is, to gain converts,
    and to Wean, W.E.A.N— that is, to mature the saints — the Redeemed of the Lord!
    We are Ambassadors for Christ, (2nd Corinthians, 5, verse 20.)
    With an open mind, Let's receive what the Lord is saying today, what the Spirit is saying to His people..
    TOPIC: RESPONDING INSTEAD OF REACTING.
    BIBLE TEXT: JAMES 1:19
    Let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath.
    EXHORTATION:
    One of the differences between the flesh and the Spirit is this: the flesh reacts quickly; the Spirit responds wisely.
    Many conflicts are intensified because people react before thinking, listening, or praying. But walking in the Spirit teaches us restraint.
    Restraint is not weakness. It is strength under control.
    The Spirit helps us:
    • pause before speaking,
    • listen before concluding,
    • and respond without being ruled by emotion.
    This is especially important in difficult conversations, moments of misunderstanding, and situations that provoke frustration.
    Today, do not allow emotions to lead you impulsively.
    Slow down. Listen carefully. Respond prayerfully.
    A Spirit-led response can prevent unnecessary damage.
    PRAYER:
    Father, thank You for the wisdom Your Spirit provides.
    Help us to respond with patience and self-control.
    Deliver us from impulsive reactions and emotional haste.
    Teach us to reflect Christ in difficult moments.
    In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
    CONFESSION:
    Colossians, 3, verse 3— personalized— reads:
    “For I have died, and my life has been hidden together with Christ in God.”
    Consequently, I declare that:
    • I live in Christ.
    • Christ lives in me.
    • I live in dominion with Christ.
    Amen. HalleluYah!
  • Psalms 1
    It is interesting how some of us catch onto the similarities in different verses and other passages. With a study Bible, en-tow or something similar, you can more effectively draw on the knowledge of others discovered over an extensive period of time. Without such, you would spend a lifetime searching through the scriptures and still wouldn’t uncover all of the 60, 000+ cross-references that God has hidden in His Word. Make the most of the tools that God has placed before you, and you can do this virtually anywhere, anytime.
    Verse 1-2
    ¹Blessed is the man,
    If he does not walk in the counsel of the wicked,
    Nor journey with sinners,
    Or remains in the dwelling of the scornful.
    ²But when the law of God,
    Is the pleasure of his life, and he meditates on it,
    Both day and night.
    It appears that there are a number of other verses, elsewhere, that correlate what this passage says to us. Proverbs 4:14 says much the same to us, in fact:
    Do not enter the path of the wicked, and do not enter the way of evil. This is a brilliant summary, though it isn’t followed by the wonderful reminder of verse2, of reminding us to meditate on His [God’s] Word. Now meditate is not, sitting cross-legged, eyes closed, singing “Ummmm,” and emptying the mind. That is some eastern, new-age nonsesnse of ill effect. No, to meditate truly is to fill your mind with something so effectively that little else has the opportunity to enter your mind, and to pull your consciousness from where you desire it to be.
    Why don’t you practice on these passages, which bear some similarity to this passage:
    Joshua 1:8; Psalms 26:4; 229:1, 16, 35; Jeremiah 25:17
    Personally, I feel this is some very practical advice, on how not to find yourself in the ‘cushy’ seats of the scornful mockers who are lining themselves up for eternal seperation from God.
    Verse 3
    ³Becoming like a tree planted by rivers of water,
    Who brings forth its fruit in season;
    Its foliage will not wither, whatever is done shall prosper.
    The more we aspire to live a life in God, the more our words and actions will glorify Him. And as our Father, should we not be aspiring to honour Him? Doing so is said to be rewarded with a long, rewarding life. More so, in the promised land. Yes, many believe that to be in heaven, which is definitely not wrong, but Israel’s 40 years of wilderness-wanderings were due to abhorrent disbelief and disobedience. Honour God now, and He most likely has your ‘promised land’ just around the corner. If you’d like to practice some more meditation, read these verses:
    Genesis 39:3; Psalms 128:3; Jeremiah 7:8-9; Ezekiel 47:12.
    Verse 4-5
    ⁴Not so are the ungodly;
    They are as chaff driven by the wind.
    ⁵Accordingly as such, no ungodly shall stand in the judgment,
    Nor shall sinners gather with the righteous.
    A time is decreed and set aside when those who ruthlessly use others for their own benefit will come under the jurisdiction of God Almighty (Isaiah 17:14). And as it states here and elsewhere, “they are like straw before the wind, and like chaff a storm carries alof (Job 21:18).” The proud and boastful may appear too well off today, but they cannot stand before God on judgment day and expect the same benefits they acquire here (Psalms 5:5; 9:7-8).
    Now, while this section of scripture here speaks of the judgment awaiting the wicked scorners, their punishment is self-inflicted. If this describes anyone who is close to you, it is encouraged that you seek spiritual guidance to acquire the ‘tools’ needed to help them open their hearts to God and encounter His beautiful, loving nature. And if you find yourself passing judgment on these types of people, only Father God is fit to judge, and that self-righteous attitude is what the Vipers [Pharisees] were known for in Jesus’ day.
    Verse 6
    ⁶For the LORD knows the way of the lawful,
    Yet the way of the wicked and ungodly perish.
    Typically, we are very sure not to forget the great and tremendous things, but few, if any, remember the little things also, except God. And many ‘big’ things have happened, and will continue to take place before the day of the LORD comes, but don’t let yourself get caught up in it. For Christ is a sure cornerstone (Psalms 118:22), a solid foundation; for God knows who are His, so if your faith is in Jesus, let yourself depart from iniquity (2 Timothy 2:19).
    For when we place ourselves into the LORD’s care, true growth begins. Not the physical growth, often measured by bigger muscles and better fitness, but true spiritual growth that comes from a ‘tree’ planted by the water of life. If this is something you truly desire, remember the Baptist’s words in John 3:30; “He must increase, but I must decrease.” For doing so is an effective step in spiritual growth that we all must take:
    less of me and more of God.
    And when any misfortune befalls you, as it does us all, don’t say, “God, why me? I’m a faithful, obedient student.” Reasons for the struggles we have are:
    Firstly, that ‘goodness’ we have is, according to our human measurements, not God’s omniscient measurements. Secondly, ask yourself, “What has God allowed to happen to me that will teach me more about Him or allow me to grow closer to Him?” For such does happen, which at first glance appears horrible and as though there is no benefit in it, but remember, God sees and knows all, including all that is coming. Do you? And thirdly, is the question we often struggl e to ask ourselves, usually from a lack of desire to do so. “What person/influence have I allowed in my life that would do such to me?”
    Submit yourself to God, and make yourself an obedient servant to Him; and if you’re unsure what He wants, simply read your Bible. And whatever there is about yourself that you are proud of and don’t want to let go of, make that the first thing you bring to Him in submission, ready for the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20; Mark 16:15-18; Luke 24:46-49; John 2021; Acts 1:8). For if you are unwilling to let any part of yourself go and give it unto God, are you truly ready to commit to Him? If you have, and it appears as if there is nothing going on, look at how you treat those around you (1 John 4:20), whom you can see and are made in the image and likeness of God; whom you cannot see and live (Exodus33:20).
  • Drawing from Marvel, DC, and other comic-book universes, J. Warner explores how the attributes we assign to our heroes—unlimited power, knowledge, justice, mercy, sacrificial love, and even “friendly neighborhood” presence—mirror the classic attributes of God described in Christian scripture and theology. Along the way, J. Warner connects specific heroes and scenes—from street-level protectors to godlike cosmic beings—to the eternal, omnipotent, omniscient, just, loving, and present God of the Bible, and builds a cumulative case that our stories are echoing a much older, truer Story.
    Does the Bible teach that one day equals one thousand years to God?
    May 27th, 2026
    The apostle here is writing about “scoffers” who, in the last days, will say, “Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation” (v. 4). To those who feel impatient about the second coming, he attempts to show how time is relative. He assures them that God has not forgotten about them.
    Years ago Albert Einstein said, “Put your hand on a hot stove for a minute, and it seems like an hour. Sit with a pretty girl for an hour, and it seems like a minute. That’s relativity.” Children in the third grade feel like it will take forever to get to the fourth grade. People waiting for someone who is late can feel like it’s taking forever. The speed of time passing is relative to how you think and what you are experiencing.
    That’s what Peter is trying to explain when he says that with God time is not measured in the same way as with humans. God doesn’t need a watch. The Lord never feels impatient. Because God is omniscient and knows the past, the present, and the future, He is not constrained by calendars and clocks. We live within the limits of minutes, hours, days, and years. God does not.
    There is a rule for understanding prophetic time in the Bible called the day-for-a-year principle (see Numbers 14:34 and Ezekiel 4:6), but this passage is not speaking of a particular Bible prophecy. It is simply showing our impatience compared with God’s patience. “The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance” (1 Peter 3:9).
    To people who scoff at the delay of Christ’s coming, Peter says the Lord will come “as a thief in the night.” But to those who trust in the Lord, we wait patiently for the blessed hope. When you are busy doing the Lord’s work, time flies.
    Key Bible Texts
    But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. (2 Peter 3:8 KJV)
