Yes, it makes a difference. No, you can't make it "all about Jesus." You don't have the power or authority to do that, to sanctify any day. The Bible clearly tells you that. In fact, scripture specifically warns us to NOT try to christianize pagan traditions and even says that doing so is an ABOMINATION unto God. Don't let your traditions cause you to offend God. Don't teach your children that disobedience to God is OK. Stop sending the message that you should feed your flesh before seeking to please your Creator. It starts with learning. We can help. "I hear what you're saying, but I worship God this way." I hear it again and again. I share scriptural truth with them, explain how God wants us to worship Him and even how to find those instructions in their own Bible. I explain how God Himself said do not take on the pagan ways and don't worship Him the way they worship their gods. But it falls on deaf ears. They just say, "Well, I don't see it like that. I like Christmas and I'm going to keep doing it." And then there's the famous, "God knows me heart." This, their choices to feed their flesh in rebellion instead of obeying the Word of God, is supposed to absolve them of their sin of disobedience - I guess that's the intent anyway. But Yeshua said that is we love Him we will obey Him. So by not obeying Him and doing things their own way, they are showing that they do NOT love Him. A Christmas (and other pagan holidays) keeping Christian is an oxymoron. If you truly love Yeshua (Jesus) but you continue to keep the traditions that HE said don't keep and continue to reject the feast days that HE said to keep, then you are in disobedience. And you don't truly love Him. You love yourself more - making YOURSELF your own god.
