Daily scripture: Psalms 31:24
Psalms 31:24: “Be strong, be courageous, alll you that hope in the LORD”
The psalmist says earlier in this particular scripture that he said, in his haste, that God has forsaken him [Psalms 31:22]. How often do you feel that God has left you to your own devices?
I am so very guilty of this. Many times in my life I’ve shouted at the Lord: “Why do You allow this to happen? How COULD You?” Sometimes we think that God has given up on us, but the mistake we make is that we think that God is human, like us. That He will just throw in the towel when things seem to go seriously wrong.
God is GOD!! Creator of EVERYTHING! He is the Master, the ONE that knows it all, that knows US. He made us, after all. Shaped us in the womb and knew where we will be going with our lives even before we breathed our first breath. He is the first and the last. He is, most definitely, not human. He does not make mistakes and He NEVER gives up.
Perhaps, once we’ve understood the true power that God has, we will get it. We will know that we can trust Him, rely on Him, despite our own failures. Even when we get mad at Him, He forgives us, because HE KNOWS that we are weak.
Yes, sometimes things seem to fall apart and yes, sometimes we may think we are all alone. But it is time that we, who call ourselves believers, actually start believing.
Our hope lies in the Lord, always, and we need to stop underestimating His almighty power.
Have courage then, whether it is to face a challenge or simply to get through the day, take courage. He’s got your back.
