Reading this passage reminds me how often people turn the Sabbath into a religious burden, when God actually gave it as a gift. Jesus said the Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath. God didn't rest because He was tired. He rested to set an example for us. He blessed the day, made it holy, and showed us that we need time to stop creating, producing, and striving. Rest isn't laziness. It's taking time to enjoy God, His creation, and the people He's placed in your life. So this week, follow His example. Step away from your work for a while. Enjoy your family. Go for a walk. Sit in His presence. Let your soul be refreshed. God designed rest because He knows what we need. Father, thank You for being intentional in everything You do. Teach me to follow Your example and to receive the gift of rest You've given me. Help me to enjoy You, enjoy what You've created, and trust You enough to stop striving. They witnessed the cross. They prepared spices for His burial. And on the Sabbath, they rested – just as the Law commanded. These women teach us three powerful lessons for our own journey: ✝️ Good Friday (Sacrifice) – They saw the tomb. They stayed near Jesus even when hope seemed dead. True faithfulness doesn't flee when things get dark. 🕯️ Sabbath Rest (Obedience) – They rested according to the commandment. Even in deep grief, they trusted God's timing and honored His holy day. Rest is not weakness – it's faith in action. 🌅 Easter (Rising) – Their faithful waiting led to the empty tomb. They came to serve a dead body, but found a risen Lord. Hope always rises after rest. 🕊️ RESTED. TRUSTED. GROUNDED. “We who have believed do enter into rest…” – Hebrews 4:3 Lately, God’s been showing me something so simple yet so deep: 🛑 The level of my rest is tied to the level of my trust. If I believe Him completely, I’ll rest completely. If I believe Him partially, I’ll only rest partially… and anxiety, fear, and striving sneak in. There’s a Sabbath rest available right now for the children of God—not just in heaven, but here, in the middle of your mess. 🧘🏽‍♀️ But it takes labor—not the kind that earns salvation—but the kind that fights to keep believing, to keep abiding, to stay grounded in truth when everything else is shaking. 🔥 Fleshly Israel missed out on this rest because of unbelief. Let’s not make the same mistake. Let’s press in. Let’s stay anchored. Let’s rest in the finished work of Jesus. 💬 Have you entered that rest?
