  • A Heart of Gratitude (1 Thessalonians 5:16–18)

    When life is going well, it's easy to say, "Thank You, Lord."

    But what about when life is difficult?

    When prayers seem unanswered.

    When doors close.

    When plans don't work out.

    When you're waiting for a breakthrough.

    When you don't understand what God is doing.

    The Bible tells us:

    “Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.”

    Notice what Scripture says.

    It doesn't tell us to be thankful for every circumstance.

    It tells us to be thankful in every circumstance.

    Why?

    Because God's goodness doesn't change when our circumstances do.

    He is still faithful.

    Still loving.

    Still present.

    Still working.

    Even when we cannot see the outcome.

    Gratitude changes our perspective.

    Instead of focusing only on what we lack, we begin to recognize what God has already provided.

    The breath in our lungs.

    The people who love us.

    The opportunities before us.

    The lessons we've learned.

    The grace we've received.

    And above all, the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ.

    A grateful heart also guards us against bitterness, envy, and constant comparison.

    When we remember God's faithfulness in the past, we find strength to trust Him with the future.

    Take a moment today to reflect.

    Think about where God has brought you from.

    Remember the prayers He has already answered.

    Recall the times He protected you without you even realizing it.

    Every blessing—big or small—is evidence of His love.

    Today, make gratitude a daily habit.

    Thank God before your breakthrough.

    Thank Him while you're waiting.

    Thank Him after the answer comes.

    Praise Him in the sunshine.

    Trust Him in the storm.

    Because He deserves our worship in every season.

    A thankful heart doesn't ignore life's challenges.

    It chooses to remember that God is greater than them.

    So today, pause for a moment.

    Lift your eyes to heaven.

    And simply say:

    "Thank You, Lord, for Your faithfulness."

    Gratitude turns ordinary moments into reminders of God's amazing grace.

    What is one thing you can thank God for today?

  • Daily Devotional.
    Work diligently for God.

    Whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men. Colossians 3:23

    There is a great work to be done in our world. Men and women are to be converted, not by the gift of tongues nor by the working of miracles, but by the preaching of Christ crucified. Why delay the effort to make the world better? Why wait for some wonderful thing to be done, some costly apparatus to be provided? ... Into all that we do, whether our work be in the shop, on the farm, or in the office, we are to bring the endeavor to save souls.

    This life is full of gracious opportunities, which you can improve in the exercise of your God-given abilities to bless others, and in so doing bless yourself, without considering self in the matter. Trivial circumstances oftentimes prove a decided blessing to the one who acts from principle and has formed the habit of doing right because it is right. Seek for a perfect character, and let all you do, whether seen and appreciated by human eyes or not, be done with an eye single to God’s glory, because you belong to God and He has redeemed you at the price of His own life. Be faithful in the least as well as in the greatest; learn to speak the truth, to act all times the truth. Let the heart be fully submitted to God. If controlled by His grace, you will do little deeds of kindness, take up the duties lying next to you, and bring all the sunshine into your life and character that it is possible to bring, scattering the gifts of love and blessing along the pathway of life. Your works will be far-reaching as eternity. Your lifework will be seen in heaven, and there it will live, through ceaseless ages, because it is found precious in the sight of God.

  • Good morning, brethren.
    1. Morning devotion for today.

    MD.i. MORNING TEA
    THE WORD FOR TODAY
    WEDNESDAY JULY 29, 2O26.
    "DEAL WITH THE STUMBLING BLOCKS (1)"

    'Make up your mind not to put any stumbling block…in your brother’s way.’
    Romans 14:13 NIV

    IF YOU want to win someone to Christ, there are certain stumbling blocks you may have to remove. Let’s be honest, people are turned off by religion for a lot of reasons—legitimate ones. Let’s look at some: 1) Hypocrisy. Think about the twelve disciples; one of them betrayed Jesus, one denied Him, and one doubted Him. That’s a 25% failure rate! But the good news is, Jesus continues to love us and work with us in spite of our problems. 2) Terminology. If you grew up in the church, you’re probably familiar with Bible terminology. But don’t assume everybody else is, or you’ll talk over their heads. When Jesus talked to shepherds, He discussed sheep. When He talked to farmers, He discussed sowing and reaping. Identify the person’s interests and spiritual needs, then use language they understand. 3) Negative emphasis. If your major emphasis is on what people can’t do, they’ll run in the opposite direction. A well-known preacher says, ‘I grew up understanding what our church was against, but never what it was for. Basically, we were against everything!’ Smiling, he added, ‘We preached against smoking and drinking. We especially preached against adultery, because we believed that could lead to dancing.’ Seriously, the gospel is not about what you lose when you come to Christ, but what you gain. Jesus said, ‘…I have come that they may have life and have it to the full’ (John 10:10 NIV). If you’re serious about winning people to Christ, you must recognise the stumbling blocks that stand in their way and try to remove them.

    *CHRISTIANITY'S ALL-TIME IMPACT* 🫵🏽🏽‍🏽‍🏽🏽‍🏽

    ```TEXT:JAMES 2:1-9```
    ```KEY VERSE:``` _*"But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors" (JAMES 2:9).*_

    *Christianity and its adherents have indisputably been described as humanity's revolutionary "pioneers for legal equality". In his seminal study, _Real Faith,_ the American evangelist, Mark Driscoll, writes: "Christians broke ground on the battle for...equality... The Bible from beginning to end describes God's heart for the poor and commands His people to be generous (and respectful) toward those who possess little or nothing...Christianity does not allow us to equate net worth with self-worth."*

    *Apostle James' inspired dictum on how not to treat the underclass in the Church or society is but a slice of the unequivocal stand of Christ on the matter. As He walked the streets during His ministry, the Lord never contemned the poor or wretched sinner because of their socioeconomic status. He was (still is) their Friend. He brought down all class distinction and taught His disciples that His Father's love extends to all humanity, beyond Jewry, religion or politics.*

    *Great changes, movements and reforms over the generations along with the emergence of landmark constitutions such as that of the United States in 1787, have a heavy and unmistakable infusion of the teachings of Christianity on the equality of all men and women. This attests to the inerrant position of our Lord that He brought a message meant to transform lives for a rancour-free relationship among men, and prepare us for a hereafter of harmonious experience.*

    *The Lord does not expect Christians to wear a partisan or condescending outlook in our assembly or outside it. Christianity has given the world a "royal law" that disavows looking down on the deprived in order to please the rich. James says those who flout such a creed that has benefited humanity are "transgressors". We do not only need to embrace the law wholeheartedly in the home and in our congregations, we also need to practise it in our workplaces. We must be doers of the Word.*

    *In February 2025, in Winterset, Iowa, U.S.A., Keigan Reisor, a 16-year-old secondary school student, found himself and his family trapped in their home by a sudden flood. Torrential rains had overwhelmed rivers and drainage systems, and in hours, water was rising fast around their house. Keigan's mother panicked, and his younger sister cried. They were scared and had no way out, and the roads turned into rivers.*

    *But Keigan remembered a verse he had learned in youth group: Isaiah 43:2. He held onto that verse as a lifeline. Instead of panicking, he began praying aloud and singing worship songs to calm his sister and encourage his mother. After hours of waiting in the cold, a rescue team arrived in boats and helped the family to safety.*

    *The phrase 'fear not' and its variants appear over eighty times in the King James Version of the Bible, emphasising the significance of trusting God always, giving no room for worry. Fear weakens faith and hinders one from receiving from God. All things are possible with God, and if you trust Him, nothing shall be impossible.*

    ```QUOTE:``` _*Fear weakens faith.*_
    In the examination hall, Emily spotted Olivia copying answers from a tiny piece of paper she had sneaked in. She tried asking for answers to one of the questions but Olivia refused, for fear of being caught. Because of this, Emily raised her hand and reported Olivia to the teacher, who seized the piece of paper; and after much pleadings, asked her to start all over on a new, fresh answer script.
    However, towards the end of the examination, the teacher noticed that Emily was restless and behaving in a suspicious way. She walked up to her table and asked her to raise her answer booklet. Lo and behold, there was a full page of all the answers neatly scribbled.
    The teacher wrote *"CHEATED"* on her examination answer booklet in bold letters and walked her out of the examination hall. Check yourself! Do you engage in stealing, cheating, backbiting, and other vices that you condemn in other people?
    *Like Jesus warned, you're to remove the log of wood in your own eyes before removing the speck from others. It is true that you cannot give out what you don't have. Instead of always pointing accusing fingers at others, examine yourself and pray to be free from every form of sinful behaviour. That done, it will be a lot easier to correct and point out the way of salvation to others. Your life is a book before the world, does it point them to Jesus?*
    *AVOID PARTIALITY: IT IS SIN*
    *TEXT:* JAMES 2:1-9.
    1.My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with respect of persons.
    2 For if there come unto your assembly a man with a gold ring, in goodly apparel, and there come in also a poor man in vile raiment;
    3 And ye have respect to him that weareth the gay clothing, and say unto him, Sit thou here in a good place; and say to the poor, Stand thou there, or sit here under my footstool:
    4 Are ye not then partial in yourselves, and are become judges of evil thoughts?
    5 Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him?
    6 But ye have despised the poor. Do not rich men oppress you, and draw you before the judgment seats?
    7 Do not they blaspheme that worthy name by the which ye are called?
    8 If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well:
    9 But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors.
    *Timeless Truth:*_"But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors"_ (James 2:9).
    *INTRODUCTION*
    Partiality and favouritism are part of the mark of the corrupted adamic nature. God is impartial and He expects His children to reflect His character in their relationships with others. Favouritism is the act of treating people differently based on their appearance, wealth, social status, tribe or influence. Scriptures strongly condemn this attitude because it contradicts the gospel of Christ, who died for all and takes every soul to be equally in need of redemption. Every believer must guard against prejudice and show the same love and respect to everyone, knowing that all people are created in God's image.
    *1. The Commandment against Favouritism*
    a.James begins with a direct command: *"My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ... with respect of persons."* The Christian faith is incompatible with favouritism and partiality. Genuine faith in Christ cannot coexist with partiality. God created each soul with His breath, He gave the same life to all and made the same heaven for all without discrimination. The gospel is the same and the conditions for salvation are the same for all. It is the same Rapture for all believers. The Gospel of Christ breaks all barriers, via social, race, status, education and wealth. During Christ days here on earth, He welcomed the rich and the poor, the influential and the rejected without discrimination. When believers show favouritism, they misrepresent the nature of Christ and weaken the testimony of the Church. b. The faith of Christ is a leveler. *"There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus"* (Galatians 3:28). True Christianity values people because of who they are before God, not because of what they possess.
    *Question*
    Does my attitude towards people reflect Christ's impartial love or am I influenced by their social status and outward appearance?
    *2. Cases of Favouritism*
    a. James illustrates favouritism with the example of giving the wealthy man a place of honour while humiliating the poor man. Such conduct exposes worldly thinking and evil motives. Definitely, people have different positions and some are given special honour because of their positions. However, giving honour to such people should not translate to dishonouring or disrespecting others. Everyone should be given due honour and respect. *"Honor all people. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king"* (1 Peter 2:17). The Church should be a place where everyone receives equal dignity and acceptance. Judging people by external appearance instead of godly character creates division and dishonours God. Believers must consciously reject every form of discrimination based on wealth, education, ethnicity or influence.
    b.Those who are partial *"are become judges of evil thoughts"* because it involves pride, deriding and degrading God's creatures in their thoughts. The Scriptures ask, *"Who maketh thee to differ?"*. All God's human creations regardless of race, social and material status are equal before Him. Also, in the day of judgment, there will be no special consideration or special treatment of anybody before God. God will judge without any partiality where everybody will be naked before Him and the servant will be freed from their masters.
    *Question*
    Do I ever treat someone differently because of his or her appearance, possessions, position or background?
    *3. Concerns Over Favouritism*
    a.James gives serious reasons why favouritism is sinful and does not make sense. The people who are poor are often more serious with their faith than those we specially esteem because of who and what they possess. *"Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom?"*. The people Jesus chose as His disciples were not even lettered men and yet they were the people who *"turned the world upside down"* and their ministries remain blessings to generations after them. God has often chosen the poor of this world to be rich in faith and heirs of His kingdom. Ironically, some of those receiving preferential treatment are sometimes the very people who oppress the poor.
    b. Above all, favouritism violates the royal law: *"Love your neighbour as yourself."* Anyone who practices partiality becomes guilty of sin before God. Love cannot be selective; it must be impartial, sincere and Christ-like.
    *Question*
    Am I fulfilling the royal law of love by treating every person with equal respect and compassion?
    *Prayer Points*
    1.Lord, forgive me for every form of favouritism, prejudice and partiality in my heart .
    2.Father, fill me with Christ's love so that I will treat every person with dignity and respect .
    3.Purge Your Church from all carnal discriminations and favouritism .
    4.Lord, help our church to reflect Your impartial nature and welcome everyone without discrimination.
    *BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:* EPHESIANS 1-3.
    2. Morning Prayer for today.
    MP.i. Morning Prayer
    For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. ⏤ Romans 8:15
    The greatest privilege of prayer is not what you can get from God, but simply to be with God. ⏤ A.W. Tozer
    It is a great comfort, our Father, to always be able to come to You with our needs. It is reassuring to know that You are truly our Father. We understand something of what fatherhood means to a child, and it is wonderful to know that You are our divine Father, not just in name, but in all that a father can be to a child—You are to us, and even more, as Your divinity is greater than humanity. Help us to know You as our Father, to trust in Your fatherly love for us, and in Your fatherly care.
    Grant us the spirit of being Your children, the spirit of adoption, that we may look up to You and say, "Abba, Father!" May we be obedient children, doing all that You ask us to do. May we honor You as children are taught to honor their parents. May our commitment and our actions be worthy of You. Let us never do anything that would bring dishonor to You. May Your image be reflected in our lives so clearly and brightly that everyone who sees us will see Your divine fatherly qualities shining through us.
    Today, as we go out into the world, we ask that we may indeed go as Your children. We will need Your protection. The world is full of dangers, subtle enemies, insidious influences, and crafty evils. We cannot take care of ourselves—so we ask You to take care of us. Hide us away in the secret of Your presence, from the strife of tongues.
    We will need Your sustaining grace for every step of the way—grace upon grace. Just as the flowers cannot live without Heaven's dew, rain, and sunshine—so neither can we live without Your love and strength. Fill us with Your Spirit. Pour Your love into our hearts. Then we will be able to live lives worthy of Your children. We ask all this in Jesus' precious name. Amen.
Basically, we were against everything!’ Smiling, he added, ‘We preached against smoking and drinking. We especially preached against adultery, because we believed that could lead to dancing.’ Seriously, the gospel is not about what you lose when you come to Christ, but what you gain. Jesus said, ‘…I have come that they may have life and have it to the full’ (John 10:10 NIV). If you’re serious about winning people to Christ, you must recognise the stumbling blocks that stand in their way and try to remove them. In his seminal study, _Real Faith,_ the American evangelist, Mark Driscoll, writes: "Christians broke ground on the battle for...equality... The Bible from beginning to end describes God's heart for the poor and commands His people to be generous (and respectful) toward those who possess little or nothing...Christianity does not allow us to equate net worth with self-worth."* *Apostle James' inspired dictum on how not to treat the underclass in the Church or society is but a slice of the unequivocal stand of Christ on the matter. As He walked the streets during His ministry, the Lord never contemned the poor or wretched sinner because of their socioeconomic status. He was (still is) their Friend. He brought down all class distinction and taught His disciples that His Father's love extends to all humanity, beyond Jewry, religion or politics.* *Great changes, movements and reforms over the generations along with the emergence of landmark constitutions such as that of the United States in 1787, have a heavy and unmistakable infusion of the teachings of Christianity on the equality of all men and women. This attests to the inerrant position of our Lord that He brought a message meant to transform lives for a rancour-free relationship among men, and prepare us for a hereafter of harmonious experience.* *The Lord does not expect Christians to wear a partisan or condescending outlook in our assembly or outside it. Christianity has given the world a "royal law" that disavows looking down on the deprived in order to please the rich. James says those who flout such a creed that has benefited humanity are "transgressors". We do not only need to embrace the law wholeheartedly in the home and in our congregations, we also need to practise it in our workplaces. Do not rich men oppress you, and draw you before the judgment seats? 7 Do not they blaspheme that worthy name by the which ye are called? 8 If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well: 9 But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors. *Timeless Truth:*_"But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors"_ (James 2:9). *INTRODUCTION* Partiality and favouritism are part of the mark of the corrupted adamic nature. God is impartial and He expects His children to reflect His character in their relationships with others. Favouritism is the act of treating people differently based on their appearance, wealth, social status, tribe or influence. Scriptures strongly condemn this attitude because it contradicts the gospel of Christ, who died for all and takes every soul to be equally in need of redemption. Every believer must guard against prejudice and show the same love and respect to everyone, knowing that all people are created in God's image. *1. The Commandment against Favouritism* a.James begins with a direct command: *"My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ... with respect of persons."* The Christian faith is incompatible with favouritism and partiality. Genuine faith in Christ cannot coexist with partiality. God created each soul with His breath, He gave the same life to all and made the same heaven for all without discrimination. The gospel is the same and the conditions for salvation are the same for all. It is the same Rapture for all believers. The Gospel of Christ breaks all barriers, via social, race, status, education and wealth. During Christ days here on earth, He welcomed the rich and the poor, the influential and the rejected without discrimination. When believers show favouritism, they misrepresent the nature of Christ and weaken the testimony of the Church. b. The faith of Christ is a leveler. *"There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus"* (Galatians 3:28). True Christianity values people because of who they are before God, not because of what they possess. *Question* Does my attitude towards people reflect Christ's impartial love or am I influenced by their social status and outward appearance? *2. Cases of Favouritism* a. James illustrates favouritism with the example of giving the wealthy man a place of honour while humiliating the poor man. Such conduct exposes worldly thinking and evil motives. Definitely, people have different positions and some are given special honour because of their positions. However, giving honour to such people should not translate to dishonouring or disrespecting others. Everyone should be given due honour and respect. *"Honor all people. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king"* (1 Peter 2:17). The Church should be a place where everyone receives equal dignity and acceptance. Judging people by external appearance instead of godly character creates division and dishonours God. Believers must consciously reject every form of discrimination based on wealth, education, ethnicity or influence. b.Those who are partial *"are become judges of evil thoughts"* because it involves pride, deriding and degrading God's creatures in their thoughts. The Scriptures ask, *"Who maketh thee to differ?"*. All God's human creations regardless of race, social and material status are equal before Him. Also, in the day of judgment, there will be no special consideration or special treatment of anybody before God. God will judge without any partiality where everybody will be naked before Him and the servant will be freed from their masters. *Question* Do I ever treat someone differently because of his or her appearance, possessions, position or background? *3. Concerns Over Favouritism* a.James gives serious reasons why favouritism is sinful and does not make sense. The people who are poor are often more serious with their faith than those we specially esteem because of who and what they possess. *"Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom?"*. The people Jesus chose as His disciples were not even lettered men and yet they were the people who *"turned the world upside down"* and their ministries remain blessings to generations after them. God has often chosen the poor of this world to be rich in faith and heirs of His kingdom. Ironically, some of those receiving preferential treatment are sometimes the very people who oppress the poor. b. Above all, favouritism violates the royal law: *"Love your neighbour as yourself."* Anyone who practices partiality becomes guilty of sin before God. Love cannot be selective; it must be impartial, sincere and Christ-like. *Question* Am I fulfilling the royal law of love by treating every person with equal respect and compassion? *Prayer Points* 1.Lord, forgive me for every form of favouritism, prejudice and partiality in my heart 🙏. 2.Father, fill me with Christ's love so that I will treat every person with dignity and respect 🙏. 3.Purge Your Church from all carnal discriminations and favouritism 🙏. 4.Lord, help our church to reflect Your impartial nature and welcome everyone without discrimination🙏. *HYMN:* The way of the cross leads home *BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:* EPHESIANS 1-3. 2. Morning Prayer For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. ⏤ Romans 8:15 The greatest privilege of prayer is not what you can get from God, but simply to be with God. ⏤ A.W. Tozer It is a great comfort, our Father, to always be able to come to You with our needs. It is reassuring to know that You are truly our Father. We understand something of what fatherhood means to a child, and it is wonderful to know that You are our divine Father, not just in name, but in all that a father can be to a child—You are to us, and even more, as Your divinity is greater than humanity. Help us to know You as our Father, to trust in Your fatherly love for us, and in Your fatherly care. Grant us the spirit of being Your children, the spirit of adoption, that we may look up to You and say, "Abba, Father!" May we be obedient children, doing all that You ask us to do. May we honor You as children are taught to honor their parents. May our commitment and our actions be worthy of You. Let us never do anything that would bring dishonor to You. May Your image be reflected in our lives so clearly and brightly that everyone who sees us will see Your divine fatherly qualities shining through us. Today, as we go out into the world, we ask that we may indeed go as Your children. We will need Your protection. The world is full of dangers, subtle enemies, insidious influences, and crafty evils. We cannot take care of ourselves—so we ask You to take care of us. Hide us away in the secret of Your presence, from the strife of tongues. We will need Your sustaining grace for every step of the way—grace upon grace. Just as the flowers cannot live without Heaven's dew, rain, and sunshine—so neither can we live without Your love and strength. Fill us with Your Spirit. Pour Your love into our hearts. Then we will be able to live lives worthy of Your children. We ask all this in Jesus' precious name. Amen. https://www.youdevotion.com/daily-prayer/miller/24/morning #taptapstudio #youdevotion.
  • Good morning, brethren.
    1. Morning devotion for today.
    MD.i. MORNING TEA
    THE WORD FOR TODAY
    MONDAY JULY 27, 2O26.
    "FOR HEAVEN'S SAKE, CONTROL YOURSELF!"
    'A person without self-control…’  Proverbs 25:28 NLT
    THE BOY said, ‘He made me do it, Dad. He was nasty to me.’ Attempting to teach his son responsibility, his father replied, ‘Son, you’ve got to learn that you are the guard at the door of your own life. You’re in charge. Nothing gets in or out without your permission.’ That’s a picture of how things work in your spiritual life! ‘A person without self-control is like a city with broken-down walls’—a defenceless city, because its guard failed to protect it. But what if the enemy is too powerful for you? For God’s people, all warfare is spiritual. Whether you’re tested on the social, financial, emotional or sexual front, the battle must be won spiritually. And the rule in spiritual warfare is: ‘…Greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world’ (1 John 4:4). When your personal territory is under assault, you’re never abandoned to your own devices—unless you choose to be. However inadequate you feel, however intimidating the situation looks, no matter how many battles you’ve already lost, the power of the Holy Spirit within you is always adequate to guarantee your victory. What’s the key to releasing that power? 1) ‘…Clothe yourself with the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ. And don’t let yourself think about ways to indulge your evil desires’ (Romans 13:14 NLT). Invite the Lord to take the wheel and redirect your thoughts. 2) ‘…The Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives…self-control…’ (Galatians 5:22-23 NLT). God’s Spirit won’t forcibly control you. But He will enable you to control yourself, resist temptation, master your vulnerability and win the victory.
    *IT IS THEIR TIME* 🫵🏽🏽‍🏽‍🏽🏽‍🏽🏽‍🏽
    ```TEXT:LUKE 22:52-54```

    ```KEY VERSE:``` _*"When I was daily with you in the temple, ye stretched forth no hands against me: but this is your hour, and the power of darkness" (LUKE 22:53).*_
    *The story was told of a university town, where a feared cult leader ran a gang. The gang terrorised students, extorting, bullying, and even injuring others. He was regarded as "untouchable," and his group gained influence - notoriety. He lived large, dressed in designer clothes, and drove expensive cars. However, following a violent incident on campus that involved his group, a major investigation was launched by the authorities. The cult leader was arrested and expelled. His supporters disbanded and fled. Years later, while the students he terrorised built careers, he remained jobless, shunned, and miserable.*
    *The cult leader had his time. So did the chief priests, captains of the temple, and elders who came to arrest and humiliate Jesus Christ. He told them, "...this is your hour, and the power of darkness." As these malicious zealots exuded the euphoria of their "exploit" of capturing Jesus, as if He were a robber, He queried them, "Be ye come out, as against a thief, with swords and staves?" Their rude attitude was unnecessary and a mismatch with Christ's peaceful disposition. They lacked the authority and courage to accost Christ all the time He ministered in the temple and everywhere; but why now? Christ could only rationalise their behaviour and reconcile Himself to it, considering it was their time. It was a time when the power of darkness was permitted to do its worst, which would eventually redound to God's purpose - and to humanity's redemption.*
    *We often witness the "triumphing of the wicked," where dubious individuals exploit the political space, misuse power, and afflict the righteous. We find people "prospering" in business by cutting corners and through corruption. People gain fame and fortune by adopting perverted lifestyles and performances. We live in a time when evil is called good, and good evil - all to the frustration of the righteous. There is even a rise in the active persecution of Christians around the world. But we should be comforted by the submission of our Lord: it is their time. Consider also that "the triumphing of the wicked is short..." (Job 20:5).*
    *If you are a true follower of Christ, keep walking with Him. Do not be dismayed by the attitudes and actions of the worldly. The temporary humiliation of Christ resulted in eternal honour and our redemption. Our present frustrations will soon result in permanent favour.*
    *In the mid-1800s, Kgosi Sechele I, a tribal chief of the Bakwena people in today's Botswana, held great power as a rainmaker. The people trusted him for their crops, herds, and survival. But everything changed when Sechele met Scottish missionary Dr. David Livingstone.*
    *Livingstone introduced him to the message of the God, not made by human hands, not found in charms or rituals, but a God who created the heavens and the earth, just like Paul preached in Athens. But after months of learning, praying, and soul-searching, Sechele decided to follow Jesus Christ. In 1848, he was baptized.*
    *It is not surprising that we find youths today, out of fear, engaging in superstitious and occult practices which put them in bondage to Satan despite available freedom in Christ. Such youths will incur God's wrath if they don't repent, renounce the occult practices and surrender to Christ.*
    *True children of God must put their trust in God alone. In Christ, we are complete, and all our needs are provided if we pray with faith and believe in Him.*
    *Sometimes, we may feel afraid or alone, but we can always trust that God is with us. No matter where we are or how we feel, He never leaves our side and is always ready to comfort and protect us.*
    One night, James was scared of sleeping in his new room because it was so dark and quiet. His mom reminded him that God is always with Him, even when he feels alone. He prayed and asked God to help him feel safe. As he laid down, he remembered that God would never leave him no matter what. James fell asleep peacefully knowing that God was watching over him.
    *God is always with us, and we can trust Him to never leave us, even when we are afraid or lonely. When we trust God, He will see us through the troubles and challenges of life.     *GOD'S SOVEREIGNTY OVER TIMING*
    *TEXT:* LUKE 22: 52-54.
    52.Then Jesus said unto the chief priests, and captains of the temple, and the elders, which were come to him, Be ye come out, as against a thief, with swords and staves?
    53 When I was daily with you in the temple, ye stretched forth no hands against me: but this is your hour, and the power of darkness.
    54 Then took they him, and led him, and brought him into the high priest's house. And Peter followed afar off.
    *Timeless Truth:*_"There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it"_ (1 Corinthians 10:13).
    *INTRODUCTION*
    Do you know that God has His own time table for every event in your life? *"To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven"* (Ecclesiastics 3:1). Is it possible to miss God's timing for some events in your life? Israel refused to cooperate with God and they got themselves king Saul through pressure and desire to be like other nations. Had they waited for God's timing for them before they started having kings, the tragedies they faced, as a nation, due to the reign of King Saul would have been avoided. Saul himself would not have been king. God has His own timing for the coming of the Messiah. He came. But Israel, through unbelief, missed the divine timing and were blinded from recognizing their Messiah. They will remain in that state of blindness till the Second Coming of Christ. Missing God's timing is very costly in every respect. God is never late, neither is He ever early. He works according to His perfect timetable. The arrest of Jesus Christ, though pathetic, was not a triumph of evil over good, but the fulfilment of God's eternal purpose and timing. Though wicked men thought they had taken control of events, they were only carrying out what God had already permitted within His sovereign plan. Believers must therefore, trust God's timing even when circumstances appear confusing or unfavourable, knowing that nothing happens outside His knowledge and authority.
    *1. The Arrest of the Omnipotent by the Destroyers*
    a. Jesus questioned the chief priests, captains of the temple and elders, asking why they came against Him with swords and clubs as though He were a dangerous criminal. Ironically, they attempted to arrest the One who has all powers -the Omnipotent God. How could mortals use swords and staves to arrest the One who is Omnipotent and Omniscience except God Himself permitted it? Their conspiracy and arrest did not come to Jesus by surprise. Jesus knew it would happen and that the timing was then, but they were ignorant of this fact. Their hatred blinded them to His identity, yet they could not lay hands on Him until the appointed hour arrived. This reminds us that no enemy can frustrate God's purpose or act beyond His permission. Human opposition may seem powerful, but God's sovereign plan always prevails.
    b. Believers do face difficult times like trials, temptations, tempests and tough times. It is not because the enemy is so powerful, but rather God allowed it and has a reason for it. 1 Corinthians 10:13 shows that God moderates all those tough times to be within the limits of the power and grace of God deposited and available for the specific believers.
    Like the popular song writer wrote: "He knows the bitter, weary way, The endless striving day by day, The souls that weep, the souls that pray; My Father knows, my Father knows".
    *Question*
    Do I recognize that God is fully aware of the tough times I am passing through and it is by His permission?
    *2. The Allowed Operation by the Divine*
    b. Jesus declared, *"This is your hour, and the power of darkness."* Satan and his agents were permitted to operate, but only for a limited time. God did not lose control; He simply allowed their actions to accomplish His redemptive purpose through the cross. Every trial, persecution or apparent victory of evil has a divine limit. God's permission is never His abandonment and His sovereign purpose will ultimately bring glory to His name and victory to His children.
    b. Both the problems and the promises of believers have God's own timing of fulfilment or manifestation. Jesus moved freely in the temple and in the Jewish streets for about three years and nobody could touch Him because it was not yet God's time for Him to be arrested. Ability to recognize God's plan and His timing is the surest path of peaceful and joyful living at all times. *"For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come"* (Habakkuk 2:3). The same is true with the vision of the Rapture, the Second Coming of Christ etc. God is moderating all events to fit into His timing. Don't run ahead of God, ask for a revelation of His time and patiently wait for His time. *"For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry"* (Hebrews 10:37).
    *Question*
    Can I patiently trust God's sovereignty when He allows temporary trials or the seeming success of evil?
    *3. The Afar-Off Disciple*
    Peter's fall and denial of Jesus did not happen overnight. It started with self confidence when he did not take the warnings of Jesus about His betrayal very seriously. This self confidence affected him that he did not draw from the river of grace when Jesus asked him to join Him in prayers at the Garden of Gethsemane. He slept off throughout. He later resorted to carnality by cutting off the ear of someone in defence of Jesus. The next phase of his backsliding was when he started following Jesus "afar off". After Jesus was arrested, Peter followed "afar off." Fear and uncertainty caused him to keep a safe distance from the Lord. Times of testing often reveal the depth of our commitment. When God's timing differs from our expectations, we may be tempted to withdraw from close fellowship with Christ. However, believers are called to remain faithful and confident that God's timing is always perfect, even when we do not fully understand His ways. When you follow Jesus afar off, your Quiet Time will be mechanical, your love for fellowship will just turn into an unpleasant routine. The end result is that you prefer moving closer with unbelievers than true, genuine and fervent believers. That was the case of Peter and eventually, he fell.
    *Question*
    Am I following Christ closely in difficult times, or have fear and disappointment caused me to keep my distance from Him? Are you an "afar off" disciple?
    *Prayer Points*
    1.Father, help me to trust Your perfect timing and sovereign control over every situation in my life .
    2.Lord, strengthen my faith to remain steadfast when You permit trials for Your greater purpose .
    3.Father, deliver me from fear and help me to follow Christ closely in every season of life .
    4.Lord, visit all those members following you "afar off" and bring them to the deeper love of Jesus.
    Morning Prayer for today.
    MP.i. Morning Prayer
    Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as [it is] in heaven. ⏤ Matthew 6:10
    In prayer it is better to have a heart without words than words without a heart. ⏤ John Bunyan
    Our Father in Heaven, hallowed be Your name. May Your kingdom come. May Your will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. This is our prayer this morning. We want Your kingdom to come fully into our hearts so that everything in us submits to Your rule. We want You to be the King of our lives, seated on the throne of our hearts, ruling over our affections, feelings, and desires. So we pray that Your kingdom may come in our lives. May everything in us that opposes You be brought into submission. May our ways that are not right be changed to align with Your holy ways.
    Sometimes we get frustrated and upset when things don't go our way, when our work is hard, or when our plans don't succeed as we hoped. Father, forgive us for our discontent and rebellion. We know You are training us and that we are in Your school all the time. We know that when we complain and get upset about our circumstances, we not only grieve You but also hinder Your work in us. Help us to humbly submit to all Your ways and learn well the lesson of submission and trust in Your sovereign plan for us. We want to be truly able to say, "May Your will be done." Give us the grace to say it every day and every hour. Help us to look up to You . . .
    when the path is rough,
    when the tasks are hard,
    when it hurts us to go on—
    and to say with love, "Not my will, but Yours be done."
    We commit ourselves to You for the day. It may not bring us all sunshine, gladness, and ease. It may have clouds, pain, and hardship. But, Father, we want to make it a sweet, beautiful day—whether it is bright or dark. Give us much of Your Spirit, and may we live close to You all day. We ask all this in Jesus' precious name. Amen.
    Good morning, brethren. 1. Morning devotion for today. MD.i. 😀🌹🎀🎁💝🌺 MORNING TEA THE WORD FOR TODAY MONDAY JULY 27, 2O26. "FOR HEAVEN'S SAKE, CONTROL YOURSELF!" 'A person without self-control…’  Proverbs 25:28 NLT THE BOY said, ‘He made me do it, Dad. He was nasty to me.’ Attempting to teach his son responsibility, his father replied, ‘Son, you’ve got to learn that you are the guard at the door of your own life. You’re in charge. Nothing gets in or out without your permission.’ That’s a picture of how things work in your spiritual life! ‘A person without self-control is like a city with broken-down walls’—a defenceless city, because its guard failed to protect it. But what if the enemy is too powerful for you? For God’s people, all warfare is spiritual. Whether you’re tested on the social, financial, emotional or sexual front, the battle must be won spiritually. And the rule in spiritual warfare is: ‘…Greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world’ (1 John 4:4). When your personal territory is under assault, you’re never abandoned to your own devices—unless you choose to be. However inadequate you feel, however intimidating the situation looks, no matter how many battles you’ve already lost, the power of the Holy Spirit within you is always adequate to guarantee your victory. What’s the key to releasing that power? 1) ‘…Clothe yourself with the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ. And don’t let yourself think about ways to indulge your evil desires’ (Romans 13:14 NLT). Invite the Lord to take the wheel and redirect your thoughts. 2) ‘…The Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives…self-control…’ (Galatians 5:22-23 NLT). God’s Spirit won’t forcibly control you. But He will enable you to control yourself, resist temptation, master your vulnerability and win the victory. The gang terrorised students, extorting, bullying, and even injuring others. He was regarded as "untouchable," and his group gained influence - notoriety. He lived large, dressed in designer clothes, and drove expensive cars. However, following a violent incident on campus that involved his group, a major investigation was launched by the authorities. The cult leader was arrested and expelled. His supporters disbanded and fled. Years later, while the students he terrorised built careers, he remained jobless, shunned, and miserable.* *The cult leader had his time. So did the chief priests, captains of the temple, and elders who came to arrest and humiliate Jesus Christ. He told them, "...this is your hour, and the power of darkness." As these malicious zealots exuded the euphoria of their "exploit" of capturing Jesus, as if He were a robber, He queried them, "Be ye come out, as against a thief, with swords and staves?" Their rude attitude was unnecessary and a mismatch with Christ's peaceful disposition. They lacked the authority and courage to accost Christ all the time He ministered in the temple and everywhere; but why now? Christ could only rationalise their behaviour and reconcile Himself to it, considering it was their time. It was a time when the power of darkness was permitted to do its worst, which would eventually redound to God's purpose - and to humanity's redemption.* *We often witness the "triumphing of the wicked," where dubious individuals exploit the political space, misuse power, and afflict the righteous. We find people "prospering" in business by cutting corners and through corruption. People gain fame and fortune by adopting perverted lifestyles and performances. We live in a time when evil is called good, and good evil - all to the frustration of the righteous. There is even a rise in the active persecution of Christians around the world. But we should be comforted by the submission of our Lord: it is their time. Consider also that "the triumphing of the wicked is short..." (Job 20:5).* *If you are a true follower of Christ, keep walking with Him. Do not be dismayed by the attitudes and actions of the worldly. The temporary humiliation of Christ resulted in eternal honour and our redemption. Our present frustrations will soon result in permanent favour.* ✍🏽```THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:``` _*Believer, benchmark not with unbelievers - they're in a different race.*_ 📜📜```THE BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:``` *EXODUS 37-38*📜📜 It Is Their Time https://dailymanna.app// *RECOMMENDED GOSPEL HYMNS AND SONGS - GHS 77: I HAVE DECIDED TO FOLLOW JESUS; GHS 79: THE WAY OF THE CROSS LEADS HOME; AND GHS 89: O JESUS, I HAVE PROMISED* *TXD [THEXDEVOTIONALS] on Twitter* *#DailyManna27thJuly2026* *#GCK* *#WorshipNuggets* *#BibleNuggets* *#LeadershipNuggets* *#RevivalNuggets* *#CrusadeNuggets* https://www.youtube.com/[THEXDEVOTIONALS] [26/07, 10:30 pm] Pastor Attah: ```DEEPER CHRISTIAN LIFE MINISTRY``` _*HIGHER EVERYD🅰️Y: (A DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE FOR YOUTHS)*_ ✍🏽👩🏻‍💼🌻 🍇🙏🏽🛰🚀🔬📚 ```MONDAY 27TH JULY, 2026``` *OVERCOMING SUPERSTITION* 🎚️📓📖🫵🏽🙋🏽‍♂️🙋🏽‍♀️🧜🏽‍♂️🧞⚠️‼️🛑❌🧎🏽🧎🏽‍♀️🙏🏽 📜📜```TEXT:ACTS 17:22-31```📜📜 📖``` MEMORY VERSE:``` _*"Then Paul stood in the midst of Mars' hill, and said, Ye men of Athens, I perceive that in all things ye are too superstitious" (ACTS 17:22).*_ *In the mid-1800s, Kgosi Sechele I, a tribal chief of the Bakwena people in today's Botswana, held great power as a rainmaker. But after months of learning, praying, and soul-searching, Sechele decided to follow Jesus Christ. In 1848, he was baptized.* *It is not surprising that we find youths today, out of fear, engaging in superstitious and occult practices which put them in bondage to Satan despite available freedom in Christ. Such youths will incur God's wrath if they don't repent, renounce the occult practices and surrender to Christ.* *True children of God must put their trust in God alone. And Peter followed afar off. *Timeless Truth:*_"There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it"_ (1 Corinthians 10:13). *INTRODUCTION* Do you know that God has His own time table for every event in your life? *"To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven"* (Ecclesiastics 3:1). Is it possible to miss God's timing for some events in your life? Israel refused to cooperate with God and they got themselves king Saul through pressure and desire to be like other nations. Had they waited for God's timing for them before they started having kings, the tragedies they faced, as a nation, due to the reign of King Saul would have been avoided. Saul himself would not have been king. God has His own timing for the coming of the Messiah. He came. But Israel, through unbelief, missed the divine timing and were blinded from recognizing their Messiah. They will remain in that state of blindness till the Second Coming of Christ. Missing God's timing is very costly in every respect. God is never late, neither is He ever early. He works according to His perfect timetable. The arrest of Jesus Christ, though pathetic, was not a triumph of evil over good, but the fulfilment of God's eternal purpose and timing. Though wicked men thought they had taken control of events, they were only carrying out what God had already permitted within His sovereign plan. Believers must therefore, trust God's timing even when circumstances appear confusing or unfavourable, knowing that nothing happens outside His knowledge and authority. *1. The Arrest of the Omnipotent by the Destroyers* a. Jesus questioned the chief priests, captains of the temple and elders, asking why they came against Him with swords and clubs as though He were a dangerous criminal. Ironically, they attempted to arrest the One who has all powers -the Omnipotent God. How could mortals use swords and staves to arrest the One who is Omnipotent and Omniscience except God Himself permitted it? Their conspiracy and arrest did not come to Jesus by surprise. Jesus knew it would happen and that the timing was then, but they were ignorant of this fact. Their hatred blinded them to His identity, yet they could not lay hands on Him until the appointed hour arrived. This reminds us that no enemy can frustrate God's purpose or act beyond His permission. Human opposition may seem powerful, but God's sovereign plan always prevails. b. Believers do face difficult times like trials, temptations, tempests and tough times. It is not because the enemy is so powerful, but rather God allowed it and has a reason for it. 1 Corinthians 10:13 shows that God moderates all those tough times to be within the limits of the power and grace of God deposited and available for the specific believers. Like the popular song writer wrote: "He knows the bitter, weary way, The endless striving day by day, The souls that weep, the souls that pray; My Father knows, my Father knows". *Question* Do I recognize that God is fully aware of the tough times I am passing through and it is by His permission? *2. The Allowed Operation by the Divine* b. Jesus declared, *"This is your hour, and the power of darkness."* Satan and his agents were permitted to operate, but only for a limited time. God did not lose control; He simply allowed their actions to accomplish His redemptive purpose through the cross. Every trial, persecution or apparent victory of evil has a divine limit. God's permission is never His abandonment and His sovereign purpose will ultimately bring glory to His name and victory to His children. b. Both the problems and the promises of believers have God's own timing of fulfilment or manifestation. Jesus moved freely in the temple and in the Jewish streets for about three years and nobody could touch Him because it was not yet God's time for Him to be arrested. Ability to recognize God's plan and His timing is the surest path of peaceful and joyful living at all times. *"For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come"* (Habakkuk 2:3). The same is true with the vision of the Rapture, the Second Coming of Christ etc. God is moderating all events to fit into His timing. Don't run ahead of God, ask for a revelation of His time and patiently wait for His time. *"For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry"* (Hebrews 10:37). *Question* Can I patiently trust God's sovereignty when He allows temporary trials or the seeming success of evil? *3. The Afar-Off Disciple* Peter's fall and denial of Jesus did not happen overnight. It started with self confidence when he did not take the warnings of Jesus about His betrayal very seriously.   • Good morning, brethren.
    1. Morning devotion for today.
    MD.i. MORNING TEA
    THE WORD FOR TODAY
    TUESDAY JULY 21, 2026.
    "LIVE TILL YOU DIE!"
    ‘…When he died…his eyes were not weak nor his strength gone.’
    Deuteronomy 34:7 NIV
    DON'T LISTEN to those who tell you you’re ‘too old’. God’s promise is, ‘They will still bear fruit in old age, they will stay fresh…’’ (Psalms 92:14 NIV). For 20 to 30 years the century plant stands six feet tall and produces no flowers. Then in one year, without warning, a new bud sprouts. The bud, which resembles a tree-trunk-sized asparagus spear, shoots into the sky at the fantastic rate of seven inches per day, and reaches an eventual height of 20 to 40 feet. Then it crowns itself with several clumps of yellowish blossoms that last almost a month. Some of God’s oldest are among His finest! The older, mellower Abraham was wiser than the brash, younger one. Caleb was still defeating giants and climbing mountains at 85. Anna, an elderly widow, didn’t just pray for the Messiah; her vision kept her alive until He came. In his nineties, imprisoned on the Isle of Patmos, John wrote the Book of Revelation. Jesus said, ‘If you…cling to life on your terms, you’ll lose it’ (Luke 17:33 TM). You can approach life in two ways: protect it or pursue it. When the voice of safety says, ‘Build a fire in the hearth and stay in where it’s warm,’ the voice of faith says, ‘Build a fire in your soul, then go out and pursue your vision with a passion.’ Asked why he was still studying Greek at 94, Oliver Wendell Holmes replied, ‘My good sir, it’s now or never!’ What matters is not the years in your life, but the life in your years. So, live till you die!
    *FAIRNESS TO ALL* 🫵🏽🏽‍🏽‍🏽🏽‍🏽
    ```TEXT:EXODUS 22:18-31```

    ```KEY VERSE:``` _*"Thou shalt neither vex a stranger, nor oppress him...Ye shall not afflict any widow, or fatherless child" (EXODUS 22:21-22).*_
    *It was Horace Jackson Brown Jr., an American author, who counselled, "Live so that when your children think of fairness and integrity, they think of you." Unfortunately, not many people heed the advice. That is why there is so much injustice and inequity in this life. Those at the receiving end are mostly the poor and helpless ones. Most people care about nothing in this situation. But God is concerned about it. Godliness should make a difference here, for it implies fairness.*
    *In today's text, the Lord outlines some precepts to guide His people from defilement and injustice. These defiling practices were common in Egypt, from where they had just been redeemed. First on the list is witchcraft, which from a divine perspective was viewed with utmost severity, so severe that it attracted capital punishment. Witchcraft, in this context, implied involvement in curious arts, a sin that amounted to gross blasphemy and had the potential of leading people away from dependence on God. Bestiality (a defilement common among the Egyptians) and idolatry also attracted capital punishment.*
    *The laws regarding strangers, widows and fatherless children were humane. God wants fair treatment for all. These sets of people were particularly vulnerable. The Lord would not want anyone to take advantage of their weakness. He reminded Israel that they too were strangers in Egypt and, as such, should treat their strangers as they would have wanted to be treated by the Egyptians. He undertook to punish those who in any way oppress a widow or the fatherless. Similarly, the clothing of the poor used as a pledge must be returned to him before nightfall, as it served as a means of support for his life. Israel was also reminded to respect God-appointed leaders and their expected consecration of giving to God.*
    *The essence of the foregoing injunctions is that the people of God would maintain a holy and undefiled life. God requires no less from us today. Godliness demands undivided devotion to God and due consideration for the feelings and needs of fellow human beings. Does your professed piety have accommodation for holiness towards God and fairness to others, especially the less privileged? The quiz is left for you to seriously ponder over.*
    ``` MEMORY VERSE:``` _*"Love not sleep, lest thou come to poverty; open thine eyes, and thou shalt be satisfied with bread" (PROVERBS 20:13).*_

    *Sleep is essential for good health, but too much of it can indicate laziness and lead to poverty and failure. The Bible warns, "Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep: So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth, and thy want as an armed man" (Proverbs 6:10-11). Experts recommend 8 - 10 hours of sleep per night for a healthy life.*

    *However, excessive sleep under the guise of rest leads to negligence of responsibilities and hinders progress. Success requires self-discipline, consistent effort, and the willingness to wake up and work hard daily. Whether studying for a major exam, developing a skill, or completing a task, it is discipline, determination, and diligence that can see you through.*

    *While rest is important, excessive sleep should not replace hard work and commitment. By staying disciplined and focused, you can work to achieve your goals and secure a brighter future. Create time also for fellowship with God and the brethren.*

    ```Key Verse:``` _*"Now the Lord of peace himself give you peace always by all means. The Lord be with you all" (2 Thessalonians 3:16).*_
    The English dictionary defines *Peace* as *"a state free of oppressive, and unpleasant thoughts and emotions".* There are different levels of peace. We have ordinary peace, perfect peace and lasting peace. Some levels of peace give temporary relief from fear and an unpleasant situation.
    However, the peace that the word of God gives is the perfect and lasting peace. It gives us faith to stand in all weathers and overcome all storms and trials.
    The storm might be much, but sometimes, God uses storms to train us so as to be able to develop inner peace. However, we must learn to maintain peace even in the midst of the storm. Jesus slept during the storm, and His disciples had to wake Him up (Mark 4:37-38). This is because He had inner peace.
    *Remember, God is our sufficiency, He is enough to give you lasting peace and calm every storm. You can obtain that peace as you spend your quiet time in His presence today. As a sinner, you can enjoy this lasting peace by repenting of your sins and surrendering your life totally unto Christ the Prince of peace.*
    *HANDLING CRIMES AGAINST HUMANITY*
    *TEXT:* EXODUS 22:18-31.
    18 Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live.
    19 Whosoever lieth with a beast shall surely be put to death.
    20 He that sacrificeth unto any god, save unto the LORD only, he shall be utterly destroyed.
    21 Thou shalt neither vex a stranger, nor oppress him: for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt.
    22 Ye shall not afflict any widow, or fatherless child.
    23 If thou afflict them in any wise, and they cry at all unto me, I will surely hear their cry;
    24 And my wrath shall wax hot, and I will kill you with the sword; and your wives shall be widows, and your children fatherless.
    25 If thou lend money to any of my people that is poor by thee, thou shalt not be to him as an usurer, neither shalt thou lay upon him usury.
    26 If thou at all take thy neighbour's raiment to pledge, thou shalt deliver it unto him by that the sun goeth down:
    27 For that is his covering only, it is his raiment for his skin: wherein shall he sleep? and it shall come to pass, when he crieth unto me, that I will hear; for I am gracious.
    28 Thou shalt not revile the gods, nor curse the ruler of thy people.
    29 Thou shalt not delay to offer the first of thy ripe fruits, and of thy liquors: the firstborn of thy sons shalt thou give unto me.
    30 Likewise shalt thou do with thine oxen, and with thy sheep: seven days it shall be with his dam; on the eighth day thou shalt give it me.
    31 And ye shall be holy men unto me: neither shall ye eat any flesh that is torn of beasts in the field; ye shall cast it to the dogs.
    *Timeless Truth:*_"And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself."_ (Matthew 22:39).
    *INTRODUCTION*
    God is a God of justice, righteousness and mercy. In Exodus 22:18–31, He gave Israel laws that protected the sanctity of worship, human dignity and social responsibility. These divine commands condemned wickedness, defended the vulnerable and required His people to live as a holy nation. In a world where oppression, injustice, exploitation and corruption abound, believers are called to uphold God's standards by confronting evil, showing compassion and living in obedience to Him. Crimes against humanity are not only offences against fellow humans, but also sins against the holy God who created mankind in His image. Sins are broadly classified into two as those that violate perfect love for the Creator and those that violate perfect love for our neighbours (Matthew 22:37-40). Crimes against humanity can similarly be classified.
    *1.Jeopardy and Condemnation by the Government*
    a. There are sins that the theocratic nation Israel was expected to condemn with capital punishment. In such cases, nobody was expected to take the law into his hands except the government or the appointed Judges of the day. God commanded severe judgment against practices that corrupted society and dishonoured Him. Witchcraft, bestiality and idolatry were treated as capital offences because they undermined moral order and led people away from the true God. Civil authorities were expected to preserve justice by punishing evil and protecting the nation from spiritual and moral decay. Although believers today live under different civil systems, God still expects governments to promote justice and restrain evil, while Christians reject every form of idolatry and ungodliness.
    b. *"The soul that sinneth, it shall die"* is a call for repentance. These people should be treated as sinners and should not be allowed into the work force of the church, but should be in the camp of those that need constant warnings and the need for repentance. Believers should not fold their arms and be fellowshipping with such people as if their sins are not serious. They should be confronted and warned and should not be tolerated in the church of God in order to avoid the wrath of God. Godly officials in the society should also strive to use their influence to get some of these laws into the constitutions of their nations.
    *Question*
    Do I fellowship with and tolerate evil workers in the church?
    *2. Justice and Care with Goodness*
    a. God's concern extended to strangers, widows, orphans and the poor. Israel was forbidden to oppress foreigners because they had once been strangers in Egypt. When immigrants with genuine clear and clean records are oppressed and cheated, it will counterfire because God is the Judge. God warns that He hears the cry of the afflicted and will judge those who exploit the helpless. Even when lending to the poor, compassion was to prevail over greed. Justice in God's kingdom is inseparable from kindness. True godliness is demonstrated by defending the weak, showing mercy and treating every person with dignity and fairness.
    b. The way you treat the vulnerable is a reflection of the heart you have. True believers are expected to be Christlike and practically demonstrate love for their neighbours as they do to themselves. *"Thou shall love thy neighbour as thyself"* is a commandment and not just mere divine advice.
    *Question*
    How do my actions reflect God's compassion toward the vulnerable and disadvantaged?
    *3.Jehovah's Command for the Godly*
    a. God instructed His people to honour Him and respect those He had placed in authority. Those in authority are not above rebuke or corrections. However, abusing or insulting them for whatever reason is ungodly. Israel was also commanded to give God the firstfruits of their increase without delay, dedicate their firstborn to Him and maintain lives of holiness. God's people were not to imitate the corrupt practices of surrounding nations, but to remain distinct in conduct and devotion. Holiness is the proper response to God's grace. Those who belong to Him must honour Him in worship, speech, obedience and daily living.
    b. Giving the first fruits to God first, which is akin to paying tithes of all our increase or profits first, is a demonstration of obedience to the command of God that *"thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all your might, mind and soul"*. Our service, gifts, time, sacrifice etc. must put God as priority above all else. God will always reward bountifully those who put Him first in everything above all else.
    *Question*
    Does my lifestyle consistently reflect the holiness and obedience that God requires of His people? Is God the first in all that I do?
    *Prayer Points*
    1.Lord, help me to hate every form of evil and stand firmly for righteousness in my generation .
    2.Father, give me a compassionate heart that defends the oppressed and cares for the needy with genuine love .
    3.Lord, make my life a testimony of holiness, obedience and unwavering devotion to You .
    4.Heavenly Father, establish justice in our nation, empower righteous leaders, expose and condemn every work of wickedness for Your glory .
    *HYMN:* Let there be love among us.
    *BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:* EXODUS 17-19.
    2. Morning Prayer for today.
    MP.i. Morning Prayer
    Thou wilt keep Moses Ishaku in perfect peace, [whose] mind [is] stayed [on thee]: because he trusteth in thee. ⏤ Isaiah 26:3
    True peace comes from knowing that God is in control. ⏤ Dwight L. Moody
    O God, our Father, bless us as we go out for the day. Without Your blessing, life has nothing truly beautiful or good. Like children waiting for a father’s blessing, we wait to receive Yours. Grant us Your peace. Give us health and make us strong for the tasks ahead.
    As we go our separate ways for our different duties, we place ourselves in Your care. Help us to avoid sin as we walk in the light of Your commandments. We have Your word—help us to follow it faithfully.
    We want to do our work well. We don’t want to end this day with only the stained fragments of our efforts to show. We want to bring back a good report at the end of the day. Bless us as we turn to our tasks and duties now. We want to do Your will, not our own; to please You, not ourselves. Fill us with Your grace and love so that we will be gentle, humble, and submissive, and in all things aligned with You. Strengthen us with all spiritual strength and enrich us with all grace so that we won’t fail in our obedience.
    We’ll have duties to others as we go through the day. Help us to do them well. Keep us from any feelings that would spoil the beauty of our character. Keep us from having a negative influence on those we meet. Keep us from envy, jealousy, bad temper, and irritability. Keep us from acting in ways that dishonor You or harm Your cause. Help us to bring sunshine and good cheer wherever we go so that everyone who sees us will get a little brightness from our faces and our words. Help us to be a blessing all day long, making our path like the shining light. Bring us all home together in peace at the end of the day. We ask in Jesus’ precious name. Amen.
    Good morning, brethren. 1. Morning devotion for today. MD.i. 😀💝🌺🎁🌹🎀 MORNING TEA THE WORD FOR TODAY TUESDAY JULY 21, 2026. "LIVE TILL YOU DIE!" ‘…When he died…his eyes were not weak nor his strength gone.’ Deuteronomy 34:7 NIV DON'T LISTEN to those who tell you you’re ‘too old’. God’s promise is, ‘They will still bear fruit in old age, they will stay fresh…’’ (Psalms 92:14 NIV). For 20 to 30 years the century plant stands six feet tall and produces no flowers. Then in one year, without warning, a new bud sprouts. The bud, which resembles a tree-trunk-sized asparagus spear, shoots into the sky at the fantastic rate of seven inches per day, and reaches an eventual height of 20 to 40 feet. Then it crowns itself with several clumps of yellowish blossoms that last almost a month. Some of God’s oldest are among His finest! The older, mellower Abraham was wiser than the brash, younger one. Caleb was still defeating giants and climbing mountains at 85. Anna, an elderly widow, didn’t just pray for the Messiah; her vision kept her alive until He came. In his nineties, imprisoned on the Isle of Patmos, John wrote the Book of Revelation. Jesus said, ‘If you…cling to life on your terms, you’ll lose it’ (Luke 17:33 TM). You can approach life in two ways: protect it or pursue it. When the voice of safety says, ‘Build a fire in the hearth and stay in where it’s warm,’ the voice of faith says, ‘Build a fire in your soul, then go out and pursue your vision with a passion.’ Asked why he was still studying Greek at 94, Oliver Wendell Holmes replied, ‘My good sir, it’s now or never!’ What matters is not the years in your life, but the life in your years. So, live till you die! Bible In A Year: 1Sam 1:1-6:16; Rev 11:15-19. Unfortunately, not many people heed the advice. That is why there is so much injustice and inequity in this life. Those at the receiving end are mostly the poor and helpless ones. Most people care about nothing in this situation. But God is concerned about it. Godliness should make a difference here, for it implies fairness.* *In today's text, the Lord outlines some precepts to guide His people from defilement and injustice. These defiling practices were common in Egypt, from where they had just been redeemed. First on the list is witchcraft, which from a divine perspective was viewed with utmost severity, so severe that it attracted capital punishment. Witchcraft, in this context, implied involvement in curious arts, a sin that amounted to gross blasphemy and had the potential of leading people away from dependence on God. Bestiality (a defilement common among the Egyptians) and idolatry also attracted capital punishment.* *The laws regarding strangers, widows and fatherless children were humane. God wants fair treatment for all. These sets of people were particularly vulnerable. The Lord would not want anyone to take advantage of their weakness. He reminded Israel that they too were strangers in Egypt and, as such, should treat their strangers as they would have wanted to be treated by the Egyptians. He undertook to punish those who in any way oppress a widow or the fatherless. Similarly, the clothing of the poor used as a pledge must be returned to him before nightfall, as it served as a means of support for his life. Israel was also reminded to respect God-appointed leaders and their expected consecration of giving to God.* *The essence of the foregoing injunctions is that the people of God would maintain a holy and undefiled life. God requires no less from us today. Godliness demands undivided devotion to God and due consideration for the feelings and needs of fellow human beings. Does your professed piety have accommodation for holiness towards God and fairness to others, especially the less privileged? The quiz is left for you to seriously ponder over.* ✍🏽```THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:``` _*A profession of godliness without a human face is the height of ugliness.*_ 📜📜```THE BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:``` *EXODUS 17-19*📜📜 Fairness To All https://dailymanna.app// *RECOMMENDED GOSPEL HYMNS AND SONGS - GHS 117: SHOW A LITTLE BIT OF LOVE AND KINDNESS; GHS 114: BRIGHTEN THE CORNER WHERE YOU ARE; GHS 119: DO SOMETHING FOR OTHERS; AND GHS 122: SOMEBODY NEEDS YOUR LOVE* *TXD [THEXDEVOTIONALS] on Twitter* *#DailyManna21stJuly2026* *#GCK* *#WorshipNuggets* *#BibleNuggets* *#LeadershipNuggets* *#RevivalNuggets* *#CrusadeNuggets* https://www.youtube.com/[THEXDEVOTIONALS] [20/07, 9:17 pm] Pastor Attah: ```DEEPER CHRISTIAN LIFE MINISTRY``` _*HIGHER EVERYD🅰️Y: (A DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE FOR YOUTHS)*_ ✍🏽👩🏻‍💼🌻 🍇🙏🏽🛰🚀🔬📚 ```TUESDAY 21ST JULY, 2026``` *POVERTY AND SLEEP* 🎚️📓📖🫵🏽🙋🏽‍♂️🙋🏽‍♀️🫩🥱😴🛌🏽💤⚠️‼️🛑❌🧎🏽🧎🏽‍♀️🙏🏽 📜📜```TEXT:PROVERBS 20:13-15```📜📜 📖``` MEMORY VERSE:``` _*"Love not sleep, lest thou come to poverty; open thine eyes, and thou shalt be satisfied with bread" (PROVERBS 20:13).*_ *Sleep is essential for good health, but too much of it can indicate laziness and lead to poverty and failure. Help us to avoid sin as we walk in the light of Your commandments. We have Your word—help us to follow it faithfully. We want to do our work well. We don’t want to end this day with only the stained fragments of our efforts to show. We want to bring back a good report at the end of the day. Bless us as we turn to our tasks and duties now. We want to do Your will, not our own; to please You, not ourselves. Fill us with Your grace and love so that we will be gentle, humble, and submissive, and in all things aligned with You. Strengthen us with all spiritual strength and enrich us with all grace so that we won’t fail in our obedience. We’ll have duties to others as we go through the day. Help us to do them well. Keep us from any feelings that would spoil the beauty of our character. Keep us from having a negative influence on those we meet. Keep us from envy, jealousy, bad temper, and irritability. Keep us from acting in ways that dishonor You or harm Your cause. Help us to bring sunshine and good cheer wherever we go so that everyone who sees us will get a little brightness from our faces and our words. Help us to be a blessing all day long, making our path like the shining light. Bring us all home together in peace at the end of the day. We ask in Jesus’ precious name. Amen. https://www.youdevotion.com/daily-prayer/miller/16/morning #taptapstudio #youdevotion.
